If you don't get this band.. then there is a hole in your soul...
I pity the fool
Doves take time to understand and appreciate.
@@blueshorecreative3146 tell me about it.. I was blown away by Black and white town i'd only discovered it in early 2011 then i looked around at all their other songs and was like 'aw this is such a letdown there's nothing catchy and indie poppy etc. (yh it was early days for me i was only into the upbeat bands like bloc party, kaiser chiefs & franz ferdinand) but by and by it all just grew on me starting with kingdom of rust and gradually all the older stuff going back in time.. It was almost perfect timing when their 2020 release came calling. Going full circle it's the feeling as if they can't make a bad tune and they're so versatile which still surprises some who only know b.a.w.t. Their magnum opus has to be There goes the fear, whilst my favs are The Cedar Room, New York, The Sulpher Man, Rise, Chase The Sun along with ones i keep discovering like Outro, Words and the gracious Snowden but no. 1 has to be the tune from near the middle of their years and that's Winter Hill feel it would be perfect for closing off some awesome adolescent movie. Also the beginning of Winter Hill's final chorus feel like fireworks going off, Wa-hay!
They are the nuts!
Doves are a very underrated band
It's 2024 and I still come back to Doves, so I believe they achieved what they were hunting at least for a lucky few who found them
Had forgotten about them, great band!
I never ever watch full concerts on TH-cam. I watched this one over and over. The most underrated Brit band. A hidden gem. Once you discover them, there’s no going back❤❤❤
All there music from the last 20 years still sounds fresh in 2021
The comment Jimi makes about wanting to record stuff that’ll be playable in 20/30 years time was spot on.
Lost Souls turned 20 this year and it’s one of my favourite albums that still gets played on a regular basis.
I’m sure I’ll still be saying this in another 20 years time.
A band like no other.
Oh yeah Lost Souls - what a debut. Fire Suite? It hypnotised me when I first heard it in a club in Brisbane. Love the Dove
@@blueshorecreative3146
Yeah Firesuite is mesmerising. It was a brave move leaving Sub Sub behind to go in a new direction with Doves, but that debut album proved it was the right thing to do
Stilling listening to "Lost Souls" fantastic album, timeless.
Doves always present in my days
Space Face is from 89/90
Only 461 watches!??!!! What are people on, this should be in the millions! Doves are fucking amazing!
Black and white town gave me goosebumps, drives so hard.
They are amazing! I live in Dallas Texas USA, a huge Keane, Travis, Embrace, Noel Gallagher, OASIS and Snow Patrol fan and many more British bands.
As for me an American, I would love to see them live here in my city. So cool! I bought all their cds after i heard the song, "Cedar Room" on a the British radio station on the internet. This band, "DOVES" belongs to that elite group too, in my opinion ☺ Peace & Love
know of hear this great band.
As an American then you are very precious.
One of my top 10 bands ever. Just outstanding.
Oh God I was there that year with my Dad back in 2005 that weekend changed my life. Haven't seen any of this set since then, brings back some good memories. I remember me and my Dad standing near the mix tower in matching union Jack jumpers because we were freezing the weather was so bad 😂
Just found this, I was down near the front in the deep mud! Nearly 20 years ago, time flies. Great band, great set, awesome setting.

Fvck me… that’s a class rendition of the Cedar Room. What a band. Hope Jimi is feeling better.
15 years ago and I’d never heard of Doves..... So thankful I found them since and I’m 55 FFS
Saw Doves in 2009 at Brixton Academy. Great band. Wishing Jimmy all the best. Would love to see them in a festival setting as missed their John Peel set that same year.
It was great. Last time I was there.
"Almost Forgot Myself" what a mint tune
Bump.
@@Hubbledriver then comes the lovely 'new york' and glorious eye candy bangin' black & white town
Easily one of their best tunes.
My favourite along with walk in fire
Just an incredibly superb band. Doves Lost Souls is one of my all time favourite.ever albums I still listen to alot and always will.
I remember this like it was yesterday.
On Wednesday and Thursday, the weather was BEAUTIFUL, but when I woke up on Friday morning (with sunburn) it felt like the apocalypse (apparently, a month’s worth of rain fell on Glastonbury in just a few hours).
I was so MISERABLE on Friday. I spent most of it in a queue to buy emergency wellies - with a raging hangover / come down.
Truth be told, a mate and I were *this* close to sacking it off and heading home early. We agreed to watch Doves and see how we felt afterwards.
Suffice to say… after this set, we decided to stay. Double dropping during M83 a few hours prior might have perked us up a bit but Doves absolutely smashed it!
Needless to say, I had the last laugh.
I was there right up the front standing in a few feet of water and the stage lights shining off the water and the doves playing was epic !!! Even if it was shocking weather
What a voice. And what a band.
The best British band,, period!
I loved to have bin there , a great set and performance. Love Doves in 2023.
Doves : (play Pounding)
Then, After....
Jimi: This Is Called "Words"
BBC: Pounding
There are Indy bands that are great, and then there’s Doves. It’s a whole level in oblivion.
Perfect set. I have to see these guys live before I die
Same!!❤❤❤
You really must. Saw them support Oasis and Coldplay and left each time blown away by how good they are. Know who I’d rather see now given the opportunity
2022. Still love them, especially Pounding 🥰 My arms ache just watching the amazing drumming 😉 Oh Black and White Town ❤ Doves have grown on me more and more in over 20 years.
I can’t think whomever uploaded this enough. THANK YOU!!!
Satellites is one of my favourites and I'm a 70's rocker at that.
Rediscovered Sky Starts Falling the other day, been stuck in my head since. What a great performance!
10/10. Listening/watching this gem as we get dinner ready for our family here in Pennsylvania. Tears of gratitude. Album #5 in four more days! THANK YOU! XO
Are you a marooned Brit?
@@kildogery Hi Paul, no, all yank but cultured thanks to music, sport, history and beer! Been across a few times as well. Cheers from near Philadelphia.
Bless ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏
Black and White Town - what a track
New Album is great.. saw the boys in Vancouver at the Commodore... class all the way boys. Keep rockin and pop over to Edmonton soon, could use some live music!!
3 things I love about this: 1. doves. 2. WORDS. 3. Crew member wearing a Chicago Cubs t-shirt. EPIC.
Space Face melts my face. Tune!
Lost Souls is a musical masterpiece. More or less straight instrumentation, with minimal vocals, bar a few tracks. Elite melody album.
I was in London in 2005. Had I known they were performing at Glastonbury, I would have done everything in my might to see them!!❤ Now, more than ever, I wish for a time machine. Love these guys so much!!!
This is the most amazing and memorable Glastonbury performance I have ever had the pleasure to see.
I was there as Max Boyce once said!
Possibly my favourite band ever.
Soulful voice , fantastic musicians
"This is The Doves." :roll eyes: C'mon, man!
I guess in the early 00s every other band started with “The” ...
🕊
❤️❤️❤️
I did too 🙄
Beautiful!
Great band
Absolutely love this band , great sound I never get sick of listening to them definitely in my top 5 bands
Thank you so much for upload
Mighty DOVES hr live set !
Absolutely love this band.
Many thanks for putting this up, very much appreciated 🙏
The best band since either Blur or Radiohead.
Miles better than Blur.
Thanks for upload ,doves still sound so good and will do in 30 years time
I'll never understand how they're not huge. Anthems and licks for days.
great band
i am in love!! blissful music in this moment i see the truth of the universe!!
Man, I enjoyed every minute of that.
GREAT! GRACIAS POR COMPARTIR!
These boys are heavy.xc
Nice!
Cheers pal!
Love Doves seen them 4 or 5 times live, everytime their live performance is better than the studio editited enhanced versions. never play a note out of tune.
with great songs
Grandissimi!!!
🙏🙏☺️☺️
Forever called The Doves....
That transition from New York to Black & White Town is magnificent.
A bit was cut out from NY
I was there because pretty sure I heard them on Peel, saw a few years later at Queens Head on-site
almost forgot myself again
Sounded great, RIP Steve Lloyd
12:44 Almost forgot myself
Saw them at Nottingham Bodega and NME tour at Rock City. Simply the best band around.
The ever present driving drum beat, requires cranking as loud as possible.
❤️❤️❤️
I didn't know he plays bass with the strings upside down. I mean, the whole bass' upside down, but he doesn't swap the strings around. I bet that makes him approach his writing differently
DOVES
Even the "Here it comes" tech malfunction sounds freakin amazin ! These guys could do a rendition / remix of "Baa baa black sheep" and it would raise the hairs on the back of the neck !
* Person "manning" the onscreen track labelling subtitles.
Pop up Winter Hill and "have a word" with yourself !
Awww they cut the end off NY
RIP Dominic.
My dad works with this family. all of them are unreal.
FIFA 06
Well if there ain't no love then there ain't no use ;)
Interviewer - "this..is The Doves." Wrong
57:03 - how do they know when to wind up the drums? Any 'closes his eyes' - just like the lyrics in the track!!!
Doves fucking rule
Can't get a Lightning Seeds song outta my head for some reason?
that sub sub cover they probably wrote, they were behind that band
They were that band
Tidy !
Wilmslow is still a black and white town.
Come to Brazil
Shame the performance of New York got off, that was a good rendition of the song.
doubt emily shitvis would book them now
They could identify as women.
Jilly🎤Jess 🎸Sandy🥁Martina 🎹
Yay diversity!
"attain a girl" awful comment
He's like a plumber with the voice of a plumber.
Sorry, think that was the joke.
Love his voice.
Viva doves.
Chortle
When he could still hit the notes.
Even more working class beauty than Guy Garvey.
These guys are worldwide and don't even know it. I'm from a little town just south of Dallas TX. I've been a fan since I heard Darker over 20 years ago. I hope I get to see them live one day.
Awwww I absolutely fell apart listening to pounding again n sgain 2005 heartbroken 30+'tr old list in a drug hazed hue thank you 🕊 snd sub sub before 🕊 one ❤mcr
