They were headliner at the Nova Rock Festival in Austria this year and it was the greatest sets/performances I've ever seen! With enough stage time to include songs like Blood Sugar, Voodoo and Tarantula
My tastes have drastically changed since I discovered Pendulum. But The Island will always be one of the most special songs I've ever listened to. I'm over here in my Dying Fetus t-shirt having a heavy nostalgic moment.

I was blessed with a second time seeing them live in March this year!! Pendulum forever have a special place in my heart!!

Rob hyping up the crowd is such a rarity but a welcome one. Not that Gareth does anything wrong, just Rob taking it a step further than usual was amazing to see and hear.
@@tonye9045 yeah that's what I think. Guitars sometimes they're really loud, and sometimes barely you can hear them... Same for bass.... Drums are always with low volume... Cymbals when hit, are really quiet... way too much.
There is a lot on backing tracks, especially synths. However the mixing of the instruments is also very unusual, so sometimes it looks like what you see doesn't relate to what you hear. The guitar is mostly used only for texture and has almost no attack, just a kind of 'wall of sound' vibe you'd get from a synth, while the bass guitar sounds like it's almost always high-passed - most of the actual bass you hear is coming from a synth. There are points in certain songs where it's more obvious what each is playing. Alongside that the drummer makes heavy use of loops and triggered samples. Essentially everything is made to sound as synthetic as possible.
Honestly was expecting a more energetic performance from them. With that said, I've never seen them live before so I had no idea what it would look like 😅
