  • This is my first tool review! The tool today is the Fiskars 14' Pole Saw ($39.97 from Home Depot). I use this saw to trim some branches and give my initial impressions on its durability, ease of use, and my overall satisfaction.

Just went to home depot today and picked up one of these as my moms tree in her back yard has been neglected for years now and has a lot of dead limbs high up in the tree and need to be dealt with, I cut dead limbs anywhere from 1/2 to almost 3 inches for a few hours today. The lopper works very well on anything up to about an inch but that blade will cut anything you put it on, I'm very happy with it for it being a product geared towards the avarage consumer it works very well definately worth the money.

Thank you! Great video, steady camera, clear descriptions, helpful tags. I have wanted to cut a few high branches outside my living room window, so I searched for a video instructing me how to do it and now I feel like I can do it myself inexpensively. By the way, Home Depot wanted $40 to rent the pole saw for 4 hours. So I am just going to buy one for slightly less than $40 for current and future needs, which makes me a happy girl. :)

I purchased this tool and some of the hand held saw pruners by Fiskars and I have just used the hand saw pruner and I love it! I love it so much I went and bought another one as a back up. I've really put it through some limbs as thick as 3" and it cuts through like butter. Afterwards my husband used his chainsaw for the large base of the tree. I'll be using the pole saw very soon. If the blade on the pole saw is anything like the hand held pruner I'm sure that I'll love it just as much. Thanks Fiskars! I never knew you made these tools. I've only used your scissors in the past for cutting fabric. Who knew?

I am a newbie for gardening and currently looking for a tool to cut the tall fruit trees' branches in my back yard. Your video gives me a clear idea what tool should I buy. Thank you so very much for sharing.

Great video. I've had one for several years now and only issue is sometimes it will extend or contract when locked. But usually when this happens I have it in such a bind that any pole saw would do the same.

Hey Cris,Ive had my tools from fiskers about 10years now, if you keep them cleaned and oiled they hold up really good. But I am in Texas so my use is limited seasonal. But I enjoyed your video.

Thank you, borrowed my neighbor's pole saw and this was just the info that I was looking for.
