Can I just say that I love the reprisals of old enemies in Tears of the Kingdom? Breath of the Wild was awesome and I don't think we should discredit it, but a lot of the enemies felt like it was the same thing. In TotK, you have a bit more variety in both in the types of enemies you face and where they have been represented in the franchise and how they will interact with their surroundings. Gleeoks, for example seem to really love castles, keeps, fortresses and really anything stone, because they tend to hang around them. And they tend to be pretty well respected from monsters and animals alike, because they are often the only monster in their immediate area. The world feels alive when it has these features.
I feel like that might also be due to their ability to instantly change the climate around them at least for fire and thunder gleeoks. Makes for an extremely dangerous area if your not able to easily adapt which a lot of animals can’t
Then there are the frogs staying at 4 millimeters from a Flame Gleeok.

I love how brutal the classic game bosses are in BOTW and TOTK!
It's like they where saying: "Oh, you want our old stuff back? Suffer."
Could you imagine a StalGleeok in TOTK. That would have been a nice nod to Oracle of Seasons, and a fun fight.
I really wish that there were Stal Gleeoks, Stal Aerocudas, and the good old original Stalfos in TotK
It would be so cool to see! Maybe their heads break off and start attacking if enough damage is dealt to them. It would be great to have as dlc, perhaps.
Unfortunately, most players would just throw a Dazzlefruit at it for instant KO
@@DatJaneDoeArchivethey'd probably nerf the dazzlefruit specifically for stalgleeoks, although,, yeah. the dazzlefruit would still probably be super op,,, so the reward probably wouldn't be as great as an actual gleeok horn and such

For frost gleeok. Jump on the giant icicles and use the reversal technique thing. It gets you up to his level fast

Frost electric fire and king a lynol bow and eyeballs will destroy them all easily
I mean at that point it should be pretty clear that if you trust the game design of the LoZ team and they intentionally put it out of your reach that there would also be a way to reach it. They even gave obvious answers to attacks from common enemies like the Yiga Blademaster (referring where they summon a pillar that follows you on the ground that also summons an updraft)
What’s a for sure method to avoid the Fire Gleeok massive fireball? I mean I take cover, but damn that things is hard to outrun.
Well it is to just out run it and then use the updraft it creates afterwards

Just defeated my first Gleeok today… all I needed was a savage lynel bow and enough stamina to run and have some space to shoot the arrows, without that, yeah, they’re terrifying.
They become trivial once you get a strong bow and a good amount of keese eyeballs. I take them down without even giving them a chance to fight back now

I actually find them rather easy, and that's because I usually stalkpile keese eyes
Went from a pixaled hydra, to King Ghidorah.

From Pixelated to even The blights are nothing compared to the Gleoks lol, this is cool they took Gleok and made four elemental ones and made it into a Mini Boss
I wish there was a four headed gleeok in totk the fourth head wouldn't do damage but blow you VERY far away probably knocking you off a cliff or even a sky island

Oracle of Seasons Gleeok was one of its best boss fights. The skeletal second phase always reminded me of that volcano boss from Super Mario RPG.
I found out that if you use the Fool's Ore in Oracle of Seasons you can 1 shot the heads.

Just fought a King Gleeok lasy night in Tears of the Kingdom. I was so confident with my high defense and over 25 hearts, not to mention my high attack weapons. I thought he wasn't gonna last long. Boy how wrong I was, not even a Silver Lynel gave me so much trouble
I died against an thunder gleeok
I have 6 hearts, just got lost in the depths and don't know how to get back without fast travel. I just found the king Gleeok and will attempt to kill it with silver bokogoblin horns.
When I first saw a Gleeok in Totk I thought my eyes were bugging
I had the courage to move in and take a picture of it, but I lacked the wisdom and power and got one shotted lol

Oracle of Seasons Gleeok was clearly the inspiration for the Gaping Dragon. I can't unsee it now.

You’re supposed to use recall on the falling ice pieces @23:30 so you can fly up in the sky. Makes it a little easier
The Gleeoks in TotK look just as terrifying as the hydra from Hercules
And Ghidorah as well
Love seeing how Gleeok went from a classic shoe-in boss in NES Zelda to a super intense and dramatic boss fight in TOTK
It was pretty intense on the NES, the heads are hard to dodge.

Out of all the 3 elemental variants, the frost gleeok just gotta be the most terrifying man (except King gleeok)
Gleeok is the hardest mini boss from totk especially if you don’t have that much stamina
Not really, it's very telegraphed and you can shield parry it's beams. I honestly struggle more with those Ice Talus that have their weak point in the lower part of their back, they're hard to damage and annoying to avoid.
Recall when they throw their arms at you
@rifasclub anything with a fire effect will knock them down. Then you can just shoot arrows at the stone.
Nah gleoks are easy if you have keese eyeballs and stamina, if lynels are considered minibosses they are way harder. Even frox have killed me more than gleoks
@@rifascluband they always turn around by preventing you from attacking it's weakness
Heres a tip for the gleook of totk,try getting to an higher platform and use bullet time to make them fall down

Just suffered against the fire gleeok on lake hylia because i couldnt get the high ground and died multiple times on the final big fireball because it one shooted me
@@WillyLongLegs another thing you can do to make them really easy is to launch yourself in the sky with a rocket fused shield

The Minish Cap one is not a Gleeok. Its a variation called a Gleerok.
Gleeoks always have atleast 2 heads.

No way that’s Gleeok in Minish Cap. It looks more like the turtle at Turtle Rock. Just no ice head. It also only has 1 head.

The minish cap one isn't Gleeok, Gleeok is a multi-headed dragon, and that boss is a simple fire turtle who never has more than one head...

I have to question if Gleerok should count towards this list. Yes the name is very similar, and yes it is a dragon boss, but it doesn’t have multiple heads nor is attacking the head even part of the way to kill it. Even Faces of Evil’s Gleeok has multiple heads (even if it only shoots them at you), and Gleeokenspiel has you attacking his heads in the first part of the battle. I could be wrong so if anyone is able to tell me otherwise please do so in a civilized manner. Though, his design and the way you fight him just doesn’t remind me of a Gleeok boss.🤔
It's still a Gleeok, just a unique variant of one.

How possible totk Gleeok can blow you away but not the arrows. it would be more challenging and fun if gleeok was able to blow out arrows . player would be forced have to build to beat it

I wonder if when Master mode comes out for Tears, they change the fight to be like the original where each head flies off and chases you around while you fight the others? 😂 now that I think about it, that would probably be too much to handle at once 😂
Idk how that would work for TOTK’s gleeoks though, because unlike the other games the heads can be revived in the next phase so how would that work if they get detached?

I was incredibly amused the first time I saw Gleeokenspiel. It's just too bad that I'm stuck at him because I'm not very good at Cadence of Hyrule.
Rocket shields, savage lynel bow, and gibdo bones. You'll have them down in 2 damage cycles

Anyone else find it werid how some of the returning enemies from old Zelda are different now, like why are Gibdos bugs now and Like Likes dont move.
Yeah, i feel the same way lol. Gibdos look like Redeads and are bugs for some reason. Like Likes don't move and are attached to walls or ceilings. Gleeok got a major glow up though, I really appreciate what they did with them in this game.

Trying to beat out TOTK for Game of the Year’s gonna be extremely hard, they set the bar really high
after all the hidden stuff that wasn't shown in the past trailers that was discovered ingame like we knew caves and underground was going be in the game but not A whole completely Chasm World!!!! plus you can get all the amibo stuff except epona ingame, build your own house, and now has it's own mini minecraft building, man out beating zelda for game of the year will be almost impossible sure you got ff16 and MK1 Reboot this year as well but TOTK brought open world beyond the charts that we never realized
If Elden Ring and TOTK were in the same year, that would be very interesting to see who would get game of the year

I love playing the old zelda games to remember back when the master sword was a viable option
what do you mean? in botw you can upgrade the master sword through the trial of the sword making it a permanent 60 damage, which honestly isn't that bad at all. not to mention that in totk you can fuse whatever you want to the master sword and can increase its damage that way instead. the master sword isn't nearly as bad as y'all say it is, you're just dramatic lol.
@negligible_reality and the stats (pre trial) carry over to totk. Now you can add lynel horns or elemental abilities to it, boosting damage, range and durability.
For example:
Silver Lynel horns and Flux construct III add 25 hits, drastically extending the swords life.

I finded always Gleeok in the Legend of Zelda 1 a bit Hard with Aquamentus but they made him perfect as mini boss in TOTK.
in this there are four of them, Thunder, Water/Ice, Wind and Fire, so they went the Blight Ganon route but better

I think if you counted the Minish Cap one, you'd also have to count the turtle rock boss in a Link to the Past.
Minish cap one is named Flame Gleeok, Turtle Rock is not named Gleeok
Turtle Rock's boss is Trinexx, not Gleeok.
The one in "The Minish cap" is a different creature, named Gleerock (not Gleeok) and it is a turtle, not a dragon.
To be fair Bowser is a dragon-turtle thing so I think this one is justified

In totkt i think they came from the depths there are little spikes on them that look a lot like some of the nature in the depths like the trees and such (i mean the leaves)
Just realizing that Trinexx from Link to the Past shares a strong similarity to some Gleeok incarnations.
hate to be that guy, but the minish cap boss is gleerok, not gleeok. Very similar in that they're both dragons, but still two different enemies
If we’re talking about gleeoks I beat the thunder gleeoks first try with out taking damage, but it’s probably because I was wearing the thunder helm
