What is your favorite 6.5 Creedmoor ammo? In this video I test out five different loadings in a Winchester XPR. TrueTimber Camo HERE: bit.ly/3nIQFPe Crimson Trace Scopes here: linktr.ee/whoteewho
I got a savage axis xp 2 hardwood in 6.5 creedmoor. I can't wait to find a couple different types and weights of ammo so I can see what mine likes. Great video as usual brother. Sending you good ol Texas vibes ✌
I resisted the 6.5 craze for as long as I could, and now I feel like an idiot! Bought a Savage Precision in 6.5 creedmoor last year, and it is amazing! With most factory ammo, it’s sub MOA, and with my hand loads, it’s sub 1/2” MOA! Best group i shot with my hand loads, was using 140 BTHP and IMR4350. It was a 5 shot group at just under .2” (.18” center to center, .45” overall). Just finished working up another load using those same bullets with Superformance powder that shot a .32” group today! I still have some Hornady 140 grain ELD Match bullets, I haven’t even started working up a load with. I may shoot out the barrel I’m having so much fun with it!
That is some damn fine shooting my good sir. That’s coming from a 3 gun firearms instructor. I am also a 14 year police veteran a former swat team operator. But I’m impressed with the rifle the ammo and the shooter. I don’t think if I’ve ever had a group that nice. That was impressive for sure. I love your channel. And as always this was a really fun video.
@@WHOTEEWHO of corse your content is always the best. Your a redneck like me. We are rednecks but we love to shoot things. Only accurate rifles are interesting.
It’s funny I too was shooting my 6.5 today. I had very similar results. Lighter the bullet the worst the group. I was able to score some sellier & bellot 140 grainier fmj from local gun shop for 20$ box that actually shot pretty good. Best groups were Winchester match 140 bthp. The federal non typical in 140 were really good to. I’m just excited to get to smell some gun powder again. Was scared to shoot since I couldn’t find any ammo for 2 years…keep up the good work really enjoy watching your channel.
I built 2 AR10S in 6.5 Creedmoor. The hornady eldx shot the best groups for me. Best group was under a half inch at 100. Stayed under a half inch at 200 and 300. The Winchester silver tip stayed under 1 inch also.
I bought a 6.5 creedmoor from palmetto. I loaded up several hand loads, after 30 different groups of 5 shots. I found the 143 eldx, with 41.5 grains of H4350. This is my dialed load.
My rifle, rem 783 also chambered in 6.5CM loves the 140gr, federal fusions are fantastic. But now that I am reloading, it really likes the small rifle primers over the large rifle primers, brand not so important. Have tried multiple brand 140gr boolots and all group about the same under 1/2moa. Factory rifle, no mods besides a silencer. Staball 6.5 H4350 both great hardly difference between the powders accuracy and speed apart from the charge. Great stuff WTW my brother and I watch your videos religiously
My Creed loves 140-gr as well. I shoot Nosler Partition hand loads. 2,700 fps on average at 4,300 feet elevation. Killed the biggest buck of my life with it last November.
Hey, I am so glad to see you testing the winchester. They told me that anything 1.5" or better was their service ceiling meaning if you could not get better than 1.5" then they would repair or replace. Otherwise if they got 1.5" group you were stuck with it. Take care and the 6.5 likes you. I agree with the message before me that you are a great shooter.
I said it the other day...... Factory rifle, factory ammo....... ridiculous results...... guys used to dream of results like this and would spend a fortune chasing it
I just bought a browning xbolt in 6.5CM. And I’m in the process of finding witch ammo it likes. Hopefully if weather is good I’ll be testing ammo this weekend.
My son's savage axis 6.5 creedmoor groups Hornady match 140 and the American whitetail 129s really well. And well as some cheap sellier and bellot 140 grain soft point. We got some nosler 140 gr accubonds to try in it as well as some Winchester deer season XP 125 gr.
I would like to see you do this again. But this time allow the barrel to cool down between groups. The reason is for instance there Bergara barrels are known to get a little noodley when they get warm. Not sure about your Barrel but it is possibly the reason the other rounds were so "haphazard for a Creed more"
Precision hunter 143gr is the best factory ammo I’ve ever seen. 11fps difference between fastest and slowest over 20 rounds. OAL .002” deviation. 2 randoms pulled and weighed 2 charges. Same exact weight. Weird powder though seems like a combination of multiple powders.
My Ruger precision likes the Hornady American gunner 140 grain. In the past, you could find really good deals on it. Was priced more like a budget round. Not really a hunting round, but fun to shoot.
Federal Fusion has always grouped really well for me regardless of caliber. It’s an awesome deer round as well. Kind of an underrated round if you ask me.
Nice shooting, both of my 6.5 cm shoot 140 grn very well, mine did not like 129 grn at all , had really good luck with 147 grn too. Impressive little Winchester 👍🏼🇺🇸
Erased my first comment just to come back and say, man what a great shooting bing bang and great shooting on your part as well. A man can’t ask for much better then that from factory ammo and factory built bing bang. Way to go Winchester on a good hunting bing bang. Thanks again WTW. 👍💯🎥🙏🏻
I love 6.5 in any caliber, got an old custom G98 Mauser with a 5.6x55 barrel, best shooting rifle I own. Have acquired a Ruger precision, Ruger go wild, and a Savage 10 tactical, all in 6.5 Creedmoor !
I have a Ruger American ( predator model) and I shoot the 129 grn American Whitetail. Haven’t grouped it but it has been deadly. Definitely was a interesting video
My 264 win mag is 65yrs old. 140gr corelokt touches holes. Didn't Like the 100gr, all over the place. I would like to try some of this new ammo but only ever shot 5 shots a yr out of it from my pap new in 57 till now with me shooting it.
I just bought a Mossberg Patriot 6.5 Creedmoor yesterday can’t wait to shoot it!! Might take it out west and try to get a elk with it!! And keep up the great work love the videos!
I know there are elk being killed with the 6.5 Creedmore but if you watch The Real Gunsmith he will set you straight on that round and elk hunting. I agree with him, not enough energy at range for elk.
I have an xpr in 243 and a Stevens 334 in 6.5, and no matter which ammo i shoot in them, I've never shot over a minute of angle. Both are amazingly accurate. Will have to say the Stevens with the walnut stock is a beauty, though. Both are extremely well-made rifles for budget prices.
For as cheap as the norma whitetails are selling near me I was surprised how accurate they shoot in my rifle. I have not found any store bought that group as well as my handloads but hornady percision hunter 143gr eldx comes very very close. The leads I caught in ballistics gel expanded nice too, I'd hunt with those hornadys without a second thought. Haven't shot the ballistics gel with the norma whitetails yet but if they expand good I'd have no problem hunting with those as well. Still cold wet and muddy in my area, once it warms up and dries up I'll be out shooting those normas in the gel
I’ve shot Norma AW 140gr, Hornady 123gr sst handloads, Hornady 140gr eldm handloads and Barnes 140gr match burner handloads out of my Ruger American predator and it likes them all. Sub 1/2 moa 5 shot groups with them all.
While I am somewhat relieved that my personal best group is better than .272", I can say with confidence I have never come close to that with factory ammo in a factory rifle. That is outstanding accuracy.
Have a howa model 1500, bought every kind of ammo I could get in all different grains of bullets. Found that the 147gr EDL-X works best out of this gun..started reloading with 34.6 grains of varget...thing cuts holes out to 300yrds
My bergara wilderness likes everything ive shot witch was 5 different factory ammos around a 1/2 inch at 100 yards but my favorite hunting ammo is federal 130gr terminal accent and its my favorite for any caliber im hunting with
It just goes to show the preference of a rifle to a load. Swift makes great bullets. I used a 350 grain A-frame in 45-70 for quite a while that was very accurate.
Great groups! Just a thought, keep both eyes open when using an optic or iron sights. Peripheral vision is greater and no muscle strain on the other eye. If you feel the need to close the weaker eye, use an eye patch. I do this mostly when using my telescopes, not so much my firearms.
Really? If one has a dominant eye and it isn't a shooting eye you will have problems. Both eyes open works when one has a dominant shooting eye and not using a scope. Great idea for shooting a shot gun at game birds mostly.
Uhmm, sure... with irons, a red dot, or a scope at 1x... but it does nothing for you at magnification. During which the eyes are trying to see two completely different things at the same time. That's similar, but worse, than saying you should train to focus on the front sight of your pistol AND the Target at the same time. Have fun shooting cross-eyed.
Been a bolt rifle dude for hunting and long range all my life. But about 4 years ago decided to get my first 6.5, but got a AR10 instead of bolt rifle, S&W Performance Center. Changed stock to Magpul PRS, added muzzle brake and Atlas bipod. Will try the Federal Fusion if I can find any but that rifle shoots 5 shot
Too funny...just watched Erik Cortina video (re-do) where him & his side-kick totally bash Federal. And then this. haha! They shot a couple of match loads from other brands & a few hunting loads from others, & two plinker/target loads (Federal American Eagle TMJ 120 gr & Aguila) vs 130gr Berger OTM & ELD-M & X 140 & 143 gr. Surprise! Surprise! The cheapest ammo did the worst. LOL. I am a bit surprised to see Fusion do so well, I have to confess. It's not exactly their Gold-Medal. It just goes to show...you never know until you test it. ELD-M is typically pretty consistent. Thanks for the vid!
I use the Winchester Match 140 gr. in my Tikka Tactical and in my CVS Scout pistol. Great ammo and great groups in both firearms. Some say never hunt deer or other large game with match ammo but the Winchester Match 140gr. Hollow point flat puts them down. You need to get a CVA Scout Pistol in 6.5 Creedmoor and give it a try. It outshoots my TC Contender and has a lot better trigger pull. It’s nothing to ring a 10 inch gong at 200 yards using a Burris 2-7X scope.
I have a Ruger American chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor with a 308 cheap eBay muzzle brake on it and I can hit consistently a group the size of my fist to put that into perspective I wear size small gloves at 300 yards with Hornady Whitetail 129 grain and Winchester white box 125 grain hollow points
I got a sub MOA group with the Winchester Power Points in 125 gr using my Tikka. I’d show you the pic if I could. I use those to hunt. I have some expensive Lapua Match ammo that I’m sure is better but I’m saving it so I shoot the cheap stuff. It was promising that the cheap stuff shot that well. I have some Fusion too. The Tikka is a tack driver.
@@WHOTEEWHO Did some shooting the weekend, it definitely prefers the Federal 130 gr Bergers but they are no good for hunting. The 140 Fusion did good but not as good as that Savage.
What is your favorite 6.5 Creedmoor ammo? In this video I test out five different loadings in a Winchester XPR.

I have 2 boxes of the hornady black 140gr. If you find some I would be curious to see how it shoots in your rifle.
I got a savage axis xp 2 hardwood in 6.5 creedmoor. I can't wait to find a couple different types and weights of ammo so I can see what mine likes. Great video as usual brother. Sending you good ol Texas vibes ✌
Loved the 140g Remington core lokt and federal fusion. Now using hand loads with Sierra game king 130g and nossler RFD match 140g.
Hornady Match 143 grain in my Bergara

Of course, now its 6.5 PRC :)
Same here, said I would never jump on the band wagon. My Tika T3Lite in 6.5 Creedmore will be here in a day or two.
Hornady ELD-Match 140 grain groups the best in my 6.5 creed rifles
Same here Blake
Same here 5 rifles tested
Agreed
Same for me and I've tested and continue to test just about every one I can find. The 147gn version are not great interestingly.
I've been shooting great with SST's in my 308.
Got to Love the Federal Fusion my 280 Remington certainly does.
Nice shooting wtw ! My 270 Winchester model 70 she loves 140 grain Hornaday only

That’s an AMAZING group
For factory ammo. Hornady 143gr. ELD-X and 140gr. ELD Match. Only thing I will shoot out of 6.5cm

Hornady ldx 143
I just bought browning x bolt 6.5 creedmoor and it don’t good with 147 grain match

Wow that Fusion is IMPRESSIVE!!!

My tikka also does well with hornady American whitetail. Then again hornady created the 6.5 cm. Thanks for the video 🤙

Your rifle definitely loves that first Ammo. Great shooting!
Hornady ELD Match in my Tikka T3x superlite patterns well. Hornady Black may have been even better if not identical grouping
Bought the exact rifle and 4 Boxes Of Fusion after watching this video. Has a great trigger and told Beggara sourced barrels. “Who tee who”
Other than Hornaday, my #1, you've got me turned on to Norma Whitetail. It gave you the best group from your .308 (my least accurate caliber rifle)
Man that Fusion worked really great , hard to beat that ! Thanks for sharing . Stay Strong 💪🙏🇺🇸
Impressive WTW, nice round, nice rifle, nice shooting!

Did the same thing in another video sighting it in
Most rifles in 6.5 CM have fast twist rates and like heavier bullets. 140 grainers and up always worked best for me
Another great video in your series but what I am interested are AR upper calibers, especially the 6mmARC and 6.5 Grendel..
I’m really enjoying this channel lately… and the vocabulary… zoomies and bing bangs!🤣
😝😝😝
Federal Fusion are my go to , I can think of at least 4 of my bing bangs that absolutely love them!
❤️ from Canada 🇨🇦
God Bless the USA 🇺🇸
I'd love to see you shoot 200yds or more with that xpr and the fusions
Remember, the 140g Norma Whitetail, you had a bad trigger pull on the one shot that went a bit to the right. That gun really likes 140g bullets!
I’ve shot Norma AW 140gr, Hornady 123gr sst handloads, Hornady 140gr eldm handloads and Barnes 140gr match burner handloads out of my Ruger American predator and it likes them all. Sub 1/2 moa 5 shot groups with them all.

Very interesting test, well done... thank you very much! Greets from Germany

Hornady Precision Hunter 143 gr ELDx for me. Best group was 5/8”.
That Scirocco is made by Swift. I'm very shocked to see how that grouped since it's one of the best hunting projectiles ever made.
It just goes to show the preference of a rifle to a load. Swift makes great bullets. I used a 350 grain A-frame in 45-70 for quite a while that was very accurate.
Yo WhoTee, this video reminded me to ask about a 6.8 western vs pavers, curious with that much power how it would fair
Used your video for the 350 legend now I’m here for my next purchase 😅
Great groups! Just a thought, keep both eyes open when using an optic or iron sights. Peripheral vision is greater and no muscle strain on the other eye. If you feel the need to close the weaker eye, use an eye patch. I do this mostly when using my telescopes, not so much my firearms.
Really? If one has a dominant eye and it isn't a shooting eye you will have problems. Both eyes open works when one has a dominant shooting eye and not using a scope. Great idea for shooting a shot gun at game birds mostly.
Two of my grandchildren both right-handed training them to shoot left-handed because left dominant eye
I’ve heard the scirocco bullets are excellent, although generally require handloading with some tuning for them to shoot.
Amazing federal fusion. Nice shooting too. Wonder how it might work in my weatherby s A friend uses it in a 300 mag browning.
Love your videos keep up the good work!!
Appreciate you watching 🙏
absolutly beautiful rifle and equally beautiful cartridge to boot !!!
Great shooting WTW! Excellent groups out of that rifle
Norma whitetail tears a heck of a hole in deer. Used them last season and blew the chest out right behind the shoulder of a little button buck
Wow on the Fusion ammo group WTW👍
Good job wtw awesome group❤❤❤

I use the Winchester Match 140 gr. in my Tikka Tactical and in my CVS Scout pistol. Great ammo and great groups in both firearms. Some say never hunt deer or other large game with match ammo but the Winchester Match 140gr. Hollow point flat puts them down. You need to get a CVA Scout Pistol in 6.5 Creedmoor and give it a try. It outshoots my TC Contender and has a lot better trigger pull. It’s nothing to ring a 10 inch gong at 200 yards using a Burris 2-7X scope.
A fan of Winchester rifles forever. Still need to educate myself on this ammo. Mine .270 thanks WTW
Great video. Maybe try cleaning the gun before each brand test. Then see if that makes a difference.
Hey would you ever do another ammo test especially like Remington core locks and Hornady precision eld-x bullet's
I am getting 12" groups at 700 yards! Federal 135 grain Berger Hybrid Hunter! literally cannot miss with these even at 3 MOA wind adjustments at 700!
My Ruger American Predator likes Hornady 147 gr ELD Match I’m running a Athlon Midas scope on it really like this set up
Are those Leupold rings? Love the video and the caliber, nice setup 👌
Great 👍 Grouping
My best 3 shot group was 1.5" @ 500 meters. Savage Stealth 6.5CM 24" barrel. 140 gr. Hornady ELD Match HPBT
The best reviews, I got some Federal Fusion 140 gr, I hope my Xbolt likes them. 6.5 ammo is hard to find here.
Thanks for watching
@@WHOTEEWHO Did some shooting the weekend, it definitely prefers the Federal 130 gr Bergers but they are no good for hunting. The 140 Fusion did good but not as good as that Savage.
Thank you for your video, need to look closer to the XPR. What does XPR stand for?
Apparently even Winchester doesn't know what it stands for.
Great video of a nice rifle! Good shooting Adam! Wonder if the scope manufacturers make them in camo?
I despise 6.5 creedmoor but I had to give this a watch because I love the ammo tests
Thanks for watching Aiden
I need to go shoot one and see what all the hype is on the 6.5 Creedmoor
I picked up a Savage axis in 6.5 creedmoor at a local walmart and a box of 129 grain and was putting rounds thru the same hole at 100 yards.
