    Once again, I learned something new about resonance. Back in my racing days, we would say: Back pressure - 2 stroke, yes. 4 stroke, no. (For most engines, not all.)

      It can have a few different names but it's very very important to understand how it works because it can mean win or fail! 👌🏻💯

    Yes for sure it’s powerful enough the way it is. Want more power buy a bigger motor. That’s the way to do it 👍👍

    Nice explaination for the exhaust and the supercharger. We only have to wait till there are some injectorsystems voor Nitro to use a supercharger or turbo😅

      Well OS already has fuel injection and did make a factory super charged 4 stroke in the 90s lol

    Pipes mean alot especially for the 2.5r old tmax very touchy motor I am actually using a stock pdp .40 pipe backwards with a custom plate on the end and a brass tip brassed on the end... but I had to run a small outlet tip for adequate idle fuel pressure sacrificed small amount of top end for lot more torque and mid range ... Pipes 👍👍

    Dude you gotta do a video on the MIP boost bottle sometime. I remember back in the day people bragging about them how it would double the power out of their O.S. .12 CV 🤣

    Why don't we have 4 cycle engines more popular in rc then? Chargers and turbos clearly work on 4 cycles very well

    • @thebug4046
      @thebug4046  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lots of 4 strokes mostly for airplanes and OS did a factory supercharged 4 stroke

    In your opinion, is there anything you can “cheap out” on with nitro rc or do you always get what you pay for in the end? Thinking about the stuff that nickel and dime you and instead buy chinese pull starters, HSP glow plugs, tires, etc. Keep up with the great videos! Love the channel

    • @thebug4046
      @thebug4046  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes in the end you get way you pay for! it just comes out more expensive don't buy cheap glow plugs they will drop the coil and destroy your engine or don't last very long and you have to keep buying more just by OS glow plugs OS LC3 OR LC4 for long reach engines or OS #6 #7 #8 for short reach engines. No I don't buy after an oil or air filter oil from the hobby shop as it's just a small bottle of what you can get at the auto parts store for 3 times as much money motocross air filter oil and Lucas air tool oil for aro. And thank you very much!

    I just don't see how a super charger can work on a 2 stroke being that the exhaust port and intake port are open at the same time ....I think the best power gainers are a good pipe and good intake good flow in and flow out

    • @williamkeeling3481
      @williamkeeling3481 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And a pipe that allows it to properly scavenge

    • @thebug4046
      @thebug4046  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly... people think that it works or that because the Detroit is super charged it will work on every other 2 stroke. And it doesn't the Detroit is a very different type of 2 stroke

    • @williamkeeling3481
      @williamkeeling3481 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea the Detroit has a valve system that closes to keep everything pressurized in simpler terms

    And now I kinda understand exhaust Port timing and the science behind how it works
    a friend has been trying to get me to remove the head gasket off of my Baja 30.5 and I think I might do it now
    it'll lower the exhaust port roof and the cylinder will hold a charge for a little longer which increases torque right? Of course I'll lose a couple RPM cuz it's not "scavenging?" as quick.... But I like torque anyways and don't have a crap load of room to run other than up and down the driveway
    Like I'm not about to go fucking around with a Dremel cutting shit up or anything but I wouldn't mind lowering the exhaust Port roof and increasing compression a little bit while I'm at it lol

    • @thebug4046
      @thebug4046  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would examine some 2 stroke performance books before you start really going into playing with port timing but you can remove your base gasket as long as you don't plug your impulse port with a sealand which seems to be a thing people do by accident but accident but also make sure you check your squishband area so you don't run your piston directly into the top of the cylinder And when you do that run a higher octane so you can avoid detonation

    • @mikesdungeon8398
      @mikesdungeon8398 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thebug4046 well I'm currently running VP 94 octane mix 50:1 with amsoil dominator.... I've had people tell me 50:1 is wrong and I've had people tell me 25 :1 is too much... But I've also had people who've been in this hobby for a lot longer than me telling me that 50:1 is more than enough with amsoil dominator
      As for squish clearance I've had people tell me it's just fine and to just run a small bead of ultra gray in place of the gasket

    • @thebug4046
      @thebug4046  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mikesdungeon8398 with that oil it will be fine i see saw guy running 5x the displacement rpm and power at 100:1 with that oil Yet which I think is excessively lean and there is 0 point because with these engines the less oil you have you will also lose ring seal And if it leans out or something happens that's the end of it Bang! I wouldn't run any leaner then 50:1 in anything. 25:1 for brake in is absolutely fine but no need to run that much. I run the dirt bikes at 32:1 and equipment 45:1 always have. I seen some ⅕ guys say 16:1 lol way... to much oil
