    Looks very similar to the original Mk1 Toyota Yaris setup, maybe some platform sharing going on there. Good work as always sure was allot of bolts and brackets for such a diddy engine and box.

    • @WMCS
      @WMCS  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      One thing to note. There’s no top mount. The complete engine/gearbox is resting on the subframe

      @henryrolt3747 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've done two clutches in the two main types of mk1 Yaris (engine bay layout the two engine "families" is very different). I can assure you this mess look much harder than either. But I was also thinking the engine/box themselves look familiar 😅

    How do you know if you have to bring a new flywheel or not to the broken clutch site. Sometimes you get it to the kit and sometimes not.

    Just curious if you have thought about a montage of videos ie: top 5 best/worst vehicles to work on? Is there ones you turn down like ones that have in an accident or damaged or poor access? People I have sent your videos too ask, I wonder if gets sick of clutches and does he do other work on cars? What happens if there’s an issue with the repair like a mount or wiring broken because it was brittle or? Thanks again for the videos your editing has become excellent!

    Hey man I love your work and motivated me to do my own clutch, I have the 1.0 sirion which is basically the same situation. Just curious if you could help me, my rattle gun will not for the life of me get the flywheel bolts off almost rounded one, it seems I need to get a breaker bar I asked some people on a Daihatsu forum and the majority said to not even get it machined and i assume you didn't either? Do I really need to machine mine?? They said my pics look fine and I don't have a problem getting it done but it's gonna take alot of effort to get it off, and put back on properly what do you think?

    • @WMCS
      @WMCS  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the feedback.
      No you don’t need to machine solid flywheel. In the Olden days yes for sure.
      The clutch kit now have spring and dampeners built in the friction plate to absorb any imperfections from the flywheel. Plus the cast metal flywheel is made from will take a lot of heat for it to even slightly warp.
      Long answer to a short question. You don’t need to.

    I had a night mare of a clutch last week on a fiat scudo LWB van , 6 out of the 8 subframe captive nuts span 😒 had to cut open the chasis in 4 places and both front legs and weld the captive nuts up and all the holes.. 5 hour job turned into a 10+ hour job...had better weeks 🤣

    Hi Kevin, I have a question as a colleague in the industry. Do your milwaukee have that much power or are you so lucky with the bolts? Greetings from Poland :)

    • @WMCS
      @WMCS  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It does pack quite a bit of power ., but the key is lots of lubrication beforehand.
      WD40 that’s the secret

    You are an educated, trained mechanic. Let me ask you ... is there any (chance of) harm caused to the steering knuckle by hitting it with a hammer? You do not use a puller, I see ...
    I would be afraid of cracking/breaking the metal!

    • @WMCS
      @WMCS  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Using a puller separator you’ll definitely be needing a new ball joint ..
      That is the best way to separate metal by shock…
