I have had three of these! Manual 2000 in the apple green colour, Manual 2003 in silver (same as above video), and Auto 2004 in dark green. LOVED every one - wish I kept them now....
Fantastic made cars if you like Toyota engine and gearboxes packaged into a small car. Only downside is that you can't use the OBD meter to plug on a reader and figure stuff out.
I sometimes drive my wife's 2004 Auto (a metallic light blue) just for the fun factor. It only has around 74,000km on the clock. Super fun to drive, super reliable (only thing that ever broke was the exhaust fell apart due to rust which was quickly replaced by a complete S/S one), somewhat economical (I currently live in South Africa in JHB which is on the Highveld plateau at an altitude of 1753 metres above sea level so the thin air doesnt do the car any favours). Love the colour of your daily!
@@allthingspowered5573I finally saw the note that says it after rewatching. Have you tried getting 0-100 with just the automatic? I'm guessing it would be just a second late with that rev? Also, are the backseats comfortable? I wish you'd make another video of it showing the practicality of the backseats and cargo space. Overall, this totally a steal for what you paid! Cheers!
Bad handling , very soft springs . Revs cleanly to 7500 rpm . Light on fuel. 30 litres gets you 550 kms if you drive decently. Brilliant cars . Definitely must have .
Yeah I agree with Waseem, quiet and comfy to drive on the highway. Cheap as you're going to get these days. Not to mention the fact that you can likely sell it for a good price in a year or two or longer, when you decide to sell it. But in fairness, i've had a few, over the past 6 or 7 years and I can't imagine life without one :) Awesome cars. Buy one, you will be glad you did.
I have one here in the 🇧🇸 awsome daily for me. parts is the issue, eems like I have to order from Australia but overall it a great, the tip_tronic is spot on everytime with some dtiffer shock this would be a beast
Dude, how many degrees do the front seats fold? I wanted to get one but I tend to haul things around. It would be great if those front seats fold frontwards or backwards somewhat flat.
Hey mate, almost flat actually. Not quite flat, but almost. It's definitely ok. In some cars such as the Honda JAzz/Fit, the fuel tank is moved from under the rear seats to the front seats. So they can go fully flat. Let me know if you get one.
@@allthingspowered5573 Do you think it's easy to modify those seats to actually fold flat? Seems like I just need to makes some hinges and/or nodges. I really really want to get this but I'm also considering a Toyota Yaris Verso.
Just stumbled upon this, i got rid of mine early this year (2023) honestly loved the little thing, same colour too!
Argh that's sad. I bet you miss it now. Awesome cars aren't they.

i'm thinking of getting a european 1.3 vti. never realized they have such a good power to weight ratio!

Hey mate, that's awesome. How is it going these days?
that is so fast you will be faster then most cars on the road with this tiny hyper car wow
To change the water pump remove the front engine mount and jack the engine up
Put a Kent exhaust cam in it and turn it in to a rally 2 I owned one they had 107 hp the sixty sprint was 7.8 sec which is fast for a 1.3
Miss mine, had a manual
Can you guestimate its 0-100 km/h? Looks realy quick for such a small package.
Hey mate, 8.19 seconds. I did it in this video I think.

Is the gearbox good or i should look for a golf fsi with dsg? I need a cheap used without problems and and not also bad automatic gearbox.
Hi I'm thinking of buying one. Is it noisy on the highway? And is it fun around the bends?

@@waseembux7537 Alright ty. Also how is it on the highway, too loud for daily driving or good enough?

@2:35 I'd rather build a Storia X4 replica. out of a cheap Sirion because the X4 is a collectors item, hence relatively expensive.
is there chronic oil depletion in the engine or other problems in the engine
Engine made by daihatsu. Please get the facts right.
