    We all know the reason why part 6 had the timeline reset was really just because you can never truly escape a Florida prison without there being true consequences. Florida always wins one way or another.

    This is actually a smart decision on how to solve the issue of power creep. With stands that can influence time from stopping time, erasing time, and then fast forwarding time to the point where the universe resets, where do you go from there? How do you top that? How do you make a more powerful threat?
    Answer: You don't. You make a whole new world.

    You said part six was constrained to “modern day” but in actuality it was even harder, because it was near future. It was set in 2011, and written in 2003. So all of the technology depicted in it is wildly different to what we actually had, no wonder he did a reset, imagine trying to predict what would happen in 2015 onward from the year 2004

      @@jman1080 You don't need to worry, part 7-9 have almost nothing to do with part 1-6 because Araki reset the universe and made a "new" jojo's from the start again (you could theoretically skip all parts and start from part 7 and you would still perfectly understand what is happening). We know that Jotaro is alive because everyone at the end of part 6 is alive with the exception of Pucci. With Pucci's death, the reset universe that he "created" vanished/got reset back to it's original but because Pucci is dead, it's just like he himself said when he reset the Universe the first time. If someone is dead they won't come over to the new universe and will get replaced by a new alternate version of this peron (like we saw with Jotaro and Jolyne). The same thing happend to Pucci (ironically), which caused the universe to exist with everything playing out the exact same way they happend before. Only with Pucci not existing and therefore all things that happend in part 6 didn't take place and also the JoJo curse broke which is the cause of Jolyne's name change to Irene, since there is no Pucci anymore meaning that every evil Dio left behind is gone from this universe and the Joestar's can finally live in peace. Imo perfectly fitting end to the series.

      True! And hidden within that sense of "normalcy", there can be undertones that something of the regular Jojo bizarre-ness is under the surface to make things seem purposely built to feel off and/or uncanny valley. Some of the best horror media often take what's normal, and slowly build up to revealing (or just hint at/insinuate) that things are actually really not normal as payoff.
      Imo, I'd write a Jojo part in a similar way to how an older episode of Doctor Who went, with the perspective of an innocent bystander/civilian without a Stand and/or Hamon/Spin (as well as not having knowledge of what either of those things are). From the perspective of a bystander, Stand use and/or Hamon/Spin use must look like something straight out of a Stephen King novel or something out of David Cronenberg's Scanners.

    A lot of people don't realize that in the ending of part 6, the universe didn't change or reset. It's still the same universe, with the same characters. The only difference is that Pucci never existed. Without Pucci's influence, Jolyne and the others could live a normal life. So the ending isn't even sad (despite that I still bawled my eyes), in fact, it's actually a happy ending. The only sad part is that no one remembers everything they went through except for Emporio, that's why Emporio was crying at the end.

      tbh, he didnt care about whether the universe was made anew, it was just one of the stepping stones he needed to "gift" humanity the power of precognition, and the fact that he was willing to accept his death after ensuring that this was the reality, which he screams at emporio seconds before his death, we know that his ultimate goal was to simply, allow every living being to predict, although also unable to avoid their own fate. This may have been because he was so devastated by his sisters demise at his own hands and comes to the conclusion with DIO that he would have been able to accept her death if he had been able to see what happened before it happened, and in his own words, be given "peace of mind". Who knows though, maybe he had other reasons, its pucci.

    As a person who is creating a story myself and attempting to make a card game as well realizing that you have peaked in your creativity is definitely one of the most terrifying things because you feel that you cannot improve anymore and cannot make something cooler and better. I previously made an attempt to make a card game before the one I'm working on but I ended up falling victim to the idea of "recreate what was already made but better and make the previous form weaker than the new thing." So I had to scrap that and make a whole new one.

    Jojo's has crept up in the list of my favourite anime and I've grown way too attached to this universe so a reset hits hard. The characters were made amazing, the story telling was absolutely gorgeous and, well I guess even the stands can reach their limits!

Considering the fact that Jojolion happens in 2011-2012 (based on Norisuke IV's age), where Stone Ocean ended the original timeline, Araki has relatively little options when it comes to characters and relationships to previous parts if Jojolands doesn't take place in the future.

      Nah personally JoJo shines at real locations. It gives the characters a lot more personality that way. For example how Jotaro is a 80s kid and probably knows a lot of bands from that time and how Joseph is racist to Japanese people due to living through WWII (I know being racist isnt a good thing but personality can be both negative and positive) or how Josuke is ridiculed for having an old-fashioned hairstyle in the 90s. Jolyne referencing movies and stuff like that. Its like a capsule of that time period being represented in JoJo's. Its also fun that the story takes place in a real life city or countries that actually exists. How we can visit the colosseum and think back to both the ending of part 5 and 2. A futuristic part would be completely unknown, no real life references nor locations. Its really cool knowing that Joseph and Jotaro know and listen to Al Yankovic etc. but in a cyberpunk future it'd be completely detached from reality.

    Honestly I felt that D4C’s ability really helped tie into the parallel but seperate worlds thing, showing that multiple versions of people exist in different realities, even to the point of having a different stand (dio from scary monsters to the world). Potential head canon for part 9 is they pull different joestars from different universes using a similar stand ability and have them come together but that’s a lil corny. It was a terrible ending and makes no sense. Emporio one of the weakest characters defeats the main villian in like 2 seconds at the end. The new world thing makes no sense either. Like why would they not all remember each other or why would some have different names?

    • @swiggydswirl330
      @swiggydswirl330 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@craftingcameron8636 It's called quantum physics and string theory. Pucci literally explains everything as it's happening, you kind of have to be paying attention to get it. Go look up Hamon Beat's video that either explains the ending or the heavens plan as he does the best job explaining it.
      Basically, since Emporio killed Pucci before MiH was finished, they were forced back to the original timeline where MiH was never activated, and Pucci never existed. Meaning the significance behind Jolyne having the Jo- in her name like all the other protagonists has now changed to something else. Since she is no longer destined to fight villains like the other protagonists, signifying the end of this bloodline battle. Nobody remembers anyone because they all met in the prison. Without Pucci, most of them would have never gone to prison. However, since MiH didn't complete, the souls of the original characters were not deleted forever (as contrary to when we see a completely different Jotaro and Jolyne in the prison that Emporio is shocked to see). It made sense to me the first time after I read it, this part is far more intelligent than the other parts so you actively have to follow the story (which I know many JoJo fans hate). Emporio only won cause he made Pucci change his own fate by pushing Weather's entrusted disk into himself.
      The fact you didn't understand something is on you, not the writing. If you know anything about higher dimensional theory, Pucci basically just forced everyone into the 4th dimension where there is no free will and everything that will happen has already happened.
