Thanks, I’m going to order a professional set maybe, but they say it doesn’t really matter what you use and some dowsers use nothing it all

Dowsing is an absolutely "for real" phenomenon. I dowsed water for many years. I would even dowse the depth of the water. For larger pieces of land, i would use a pendulum and do map dowsing. The level of success i had began to reach outright spooky levels. I dont want to elaborate here but things began to get a little weird then so i got out of it altogether. I swear, this is all true. Im retired now and getting ready to move out west...wanna get into gold prospecting!! Who knows, i may try dowsing again someday...youve got me thinking!
The best source of info on the subject of Dowsing, is a book called The Divining Hand.

The Big boulder might have had huge deposits in it... it seemed to be the correct color... perhaps that’s why the rods were so strong while passing over that area!?

here in Bosnia (Southeastern Europe) dowsing is used for centuries. For water searching exactly how you describe sir.The only reason it's a bit (Sci-fi) is that they say that some people have energy in them, so their forks move and are detected... while others don't have (that kind of energy) in them, so their forks don't move.

Read and study the book, The Art of Dowsing - Separating Science from Superstition, that explains all of the physics involved in dowsing and how to build the modern ball bearing dowsing, which is the only dowsing rod that accurately gauges what is being dowsed by pitting the energy of gravity against the energizing of the one-tenth ounce dowsing rod load that is attached on the elevated acetylene welding rod, with being located five-inches from the hub's shaft. This precisely gauges the dowsing of all edges, exact center, depth buried with angle of deposition, and most important is grading of the sought element that is contained in the elemental mass that is being dowsed. Anybody can become a professional dowser by practicing the book's dowsing lessons of buried pipelines and electrical cables, tunnels and voids, precious metal placer and lode deposits, dowsing for treasure, dowsing for any element, amplified long distance dowsing from a moving vehicle, and dowsing on water from a boat. The new TH-cam Channel for teaching the world how to use physics in dowsing has begun putting videos out, with the channels name being : The Art of Gold Dowsing. I hope dowsing enriches your life and have a safe, healthy, good day.

You can program your rods to find a certain size range nugget. Hold your rods and say only show me gold nuggets above 1 /4 ounce or more. Then ask is there a gold nugget that size within ..say 50 feet of me? How deep is it buried. ?

The basic idea behind dowsing is that the dowser holds a tool-often a Y-shaped branch or two metal rods-and walks over an area. When the tool reacts (for example, the branch bends or the rods cross), it is interpreted as a sign that something of interest is below the ground, such as water or minerals.
Although the scientific explanation for how dowsing works is still debated, some theories suggest that it may involve subtle movements of the dowser's body or subconscious cues that guide the tool's movement. This means that the practice may not be as random as it seems, and there could be a psychological or physiological component at play.
In conclusion, while dowsing may not be fully accepted by mainstream science, it remains a fascinating field that many believe is worth exploring further. Its reported effectiveness across various cultures and regions adds to its intrigue.

Plain and simple. No dowsing rod load used is just superstition. Dowsing with a dowsing rod load is using physics in dowsing. Did you have any gold on you, if not then you were dousing- not dowsing. My 100% expertise opinion is to forget using hit and miss superstition, and learn to become a professional dowser by leaning the physics involved in dowsing.

I have used dowsing rods to find many things under ground. The 1st time I used them in my yard, I stepped off the porch thinking about coins and about 10 feet out the rods crossed, so I marked the spot. Then I got my metal detector and checked the spot. There was a 1919 wheat penny about 3 inches down. I keep a set of rods in my garage to this day, they work great.
