Thanks Chris i consider myself seasoned panner but i still enjoy your videos to keep me on point and make sure im not focusing to much on 1 thing and overlooking potential spots. 👍🏴⚒️
Thanks for the awesome content Chris. I live in a village in NSW with a working gold mine at the end of the main street and a 400m gorge on three sides. Coming across your videos inspired me to find out about getting down into that creek to have a look. It's been 45 years since I did any panning, but its coming back with some practice at another goldfields location, which there is plenty of up here in my vicinity. Being a bit on the broke side means I will have to make my own yabby pump, river sluice (going to Buy me some Dream Mat though) and Miller table. I may have to DIY a metal detector too. Luckily I have some skills (thanks to my ADF time) to do that. May not be as good as a bought one though. The gorge is all Crown Land but there are some active mining leases to dodge. Luckily the lady at the Crown Lands office is friendly. Please keep up the good work as I am finding your tutorials invaluable. I've got some interesting topography to decode. Cheers mate.
I think the important take-away from the density differences is not the absolute density of water and gold, but the relative density between water (1), granite (3) Black sand (4) Lead (11) and gold (19) Gold is around 5 times heavier than pretty much everything you'll have in your pan.
The bit at 10:55 about fast water reminds me of one of my favourite panning spots. Its the outside bend of a river where the rocks have fissures parallel to the flow of water. Material gets smashed directly into the crevices and most of it flushed out. The only thing left after floods is chunky heavies. :-)
Great episode Chris! Thanks for sharing and thanks for all you contribute to the prospecting community. You truly have Great knowledge in most all aspects of prospecting . We appreciate you. Keep finding that AU. 👍🎩😎⚒️
there are definitely quite a few well bearded prospectors and mother earth mysteries adventurers! No offence to Pauly and Jeff, I will go with Dan Hurd and Frank @ Exploring abandoned mines (by the way check out the mine he is working on!!!!) Those are really well seasoned beards, quintessence of passionate characters that nobody would be able to imagine without them. True B-C guys!! Still cheers to Pauly, Jeff and obviously YOU, Chris! Always a pleasure to watch what you're up too and appreciate the great content you share with us during your explorations. Thanks a lot!
I live in an area that's known to hold gold Just ordered myself a pan and plan on prospecting some tomorrow. The river I live by is super low and hoping to find some gold Wish me luck and thanks for the great videos
Sence that is a log, a lot longer than what is sticking out of the water. Hence that bedrock is a hell of a lot deeper. A lot more area to find a whole heck of a lot more gold. Good content, and really great information,( exhalent teaching, from a great teacher).
Ive found a great location in my local creek. A beautiful inside bend where I can see the heaviest rocks in the front of it. However, the outside of the bend hits a massive bedrock wall. I think the gold may actually be on the outside bend on this one. Panning the inside bend I’ve found lots of lead, and I believe small chunks of iron, and THICK black sand. But no gold yet.
Hi Chris great content.always love watching you and gadsey out on the gold hunt. Incessantly, I'm from Dan Hurd country in the Okanogan Valley in bc. We have similar gold deposits everywhere.have you considered coming up to Canada and doing a few episodes with Pauly and Dan? Maybe for good measure get Jason up from Bellingham Washington.what a series that would be.
Stupid question Could you dig the log out burn it see if gold got trapped in the log 🪵 It seem like a place gold could be in with wood having crevices and small places that gold could get caught in ??? So could gold be in the log ? If you bring it could you find the gold in the ash ?
I appreciate what your doing iv learned a lot from watching your videos and I’ll always watch um all iv been bitten by the gold bug id love to get out there one day and look for some gold with ya brother stay blessed 👋💪💯🫶🙏
How can I get out of the .1 a bucket trend I'm in? I'm below a lava cap digging tertiary. Only a few small pickers found and I've done about 50 test buckets around the area. Am I cursed with lode gold? No really big indicators except the dirt gets dark red when it's good, the clay layer is only 6 in to a foot deep and the banks hold only slightly less than the dry creek bed🤨
Thanks. I have a friend that saved president Kennedys daughters life from a Muslim knife weirder, we went out to test his new gold bug today...he found a target that he couldn't find so he asked me to recheck it...there was an inch & a half rock that sounded like a nugget on my Fisher CZ3D...he's 1 happy camper today!
A Nice specimin!! I told him to crush it & i will teach him to pan...hes pushing 90 years old & is excited as a kid in a candy store. He wants to learn. Who says you cant teach an old dog new tricks?!!!@VoGusProspecting
Hey... Has Everyone Told Chris that Boats can be constructed of Steel or Concrete and still FLOAT as the Flotation Of The Boat Is Dependent Upon The Amount Of Water The Boat Displaces? FFS
@@VoGusProspecting wow, it’s really been that long! I didn’t realize I’ve been watching you for so many years now! It’s still such a great channel, the humor and education separate you from the pack and of course the irreplaceable Senior Sweat Pants!!
Jeff. Pauly even though Canadian, has a baby face. And Jeff grizzled (sorry for stupid saying) look just goes with age eh! 3 hours late. It's uh..1am here, what time is Victoria in. 8-10 hours past pacific standard. Don't wanna Google. Really just lame convo starter. You are a definite pro now. And you teach exceptionally well, considering talking to the Camara. I talk to myself plenty, and I'm only worried about getting caught. The camera just isn't the same

Can't wait to get to my secret spot and sluice 2 ounces a week. I'll be doing it full time, even doing a night shift. It would be great to film this spot but I want to stay incognito and alone😊.

always a pleasure to watch these little nuggets
Thanks Chris
You good sir have a plethora of knowledge, thank you for the great detailed information you give, and the way you give it, thank you 👍
We're all learning. Just trying to share it
Chris, Did you ever find the old creek runs/beds that were there before the old timers used the water jets?
Thanks for taking the time to explain some details that others skip over.
No problems, teaching is very enjoyable

Thank you for bringing me along with you on your adventure 😁
The lead you got panning a very selective spot proved your theory on the fast water improving size of gold, my belief is that big rocks, big gold.
I agree, all my bugger bits have come out of areas with large rock

Great vid and i know I've said it before but love your work.
With that log in the creek could it also have gold in the crack s of that log stuck in the creek bottom? You would think so
Another great video! Keeping you and the people of Australia in my thoughts this morning after the terrible attack at the mall today

My daughters friend was stabbed a few months ago. Mikey Royland only 16 years old.
Great job all around fam. Loads of great info. Keep on having fun getting that Au and living the dream. Gold Squad Out 🤠
Pauly’s stache gets outta hand in a hurry… but love beards, on both..
keep going
Chunky a nice.
I wonder if there would be gold trapped in that log since it had so many crevices in it.
I've tried it not worth the hassle for the little bit you do recover
When did you stop doing the old mouldy hat intro to your other channel?
Like 5 years ago

Just found out Gold's almost 2700 Oz now that's awesome
Also, is this your job meaning your TH-cam channels? Or do you have another job and this is a weekend hobby in addition to your work?
I have another job

Upgraded from prospector to miner.
Dan Hurd would call it a picker! 😄

I remember in the 70s gold was $70 an ounce $3600 ouch
God i wish id brought more even 12 months ago
Because you're upside down in Oz, why doesn't the gold rise to the top of the tray when panning? Just trolling, love the vids Chris :)
It does and then falls out of your pan leaving more for us,ssshhh, don't tell anyone
We’re are you gold panninng
