The Deck Job, Part 6: All Hand(rail)s on deck! (Okay, just some rails).

- Despite a series of missteps and wrong parts, I am now putting in handrails after we debated the colors with the steps and rest of the deck. We are trying a new system very different from the previous rails on the prior version of the deck.
I also give you close-ups of my faults and laziness when it comes to these projects. I even have tools to do it more correctly, but I do the basics instead and cover it up later. This is why I am not a pro. Of course, if I were working for someone else, I probably put the better effort in.
Again, thanks to friends and family tuning in and commenting on this non-train-related series. I make no claims to being a pro or even good. Just what I do, because I had it beat into me by my father to not pay someone else to do something if I could do it myself.
Great work Anthony, now you're adding the hand rails it really shows how it's going to look when it's finished.
Top Work
Thank you very much, Deano... much appreciated. I still need to finish it all before I can feel good.
Great railing! I find myself also running back and forth to the hardware store getting things I either forget on the previous or now need. In my case, though, my ACE Hardware store is just a few minutes down the street from my house. If they don't have it, then I go to Home Depot in a nearby town. I do work slower now , that I'm in my 70's.Remember, take time to "run those trains." Bill and Janet from California
Hello, Bill and Janet! Yeah, I can still work the same speed, the body just takes longer to recover (I am 60). We used to have a nice hardware store 5 minutes from my front door, but he got driven out of business by the Wal-Mart that went in up the road. I have a Lowe's 14 minutes from my house, Home Depot is 16 minutes, and Menard's is 18 minutes. All on the same road here. I prefer Lowes for many reasons, but Joyce liked the Menards' wood when we elected not to go with composite.
Making good progress. Weather is always an issue this time of year. Thanks for sharing your process.
Indeed, weather is very wild here. Hoping it turns again quickly, as I sit here and watch the rain!
Its gonna look amazing when its done.
I hope so, the hardest parts are coming.
Good work Anthony.
The first section is looking great.
Thank you again, Mons!
You are striving on with the deck build Anthony, I know it must be tiring work for you, but very worthwhile when complete. Good luck with your continued progress.
Hi, Brian! It's tiring for sure. I am constantly comparing how much more slowly I recover each night, but I tend to enjoy these projects! Thanks for checking in.
Wow it’s looking amazing
I am happy with it, but will need to touch up some things! Thank you for stopping by!
Awesome looking project so far. Have a wonderful rest of your day.(Steve)
Thank you for the check-in! Enjoy your day and week!
@@ModelTrainOutsider Your welcome. Thanks and you also.

Starts looking really good now!! I don’t think I would have the patience to do this kind of project…
It's coming along. Still so much to do.
As you says it looks great and I think the only one that is really critical is yourself, I wish I had your skills.
Not overly critical, just honesty, good or bad.
That looks brilliant Anthony, very well done. Did you ever watch the Two Ronnies sketch "Four Candles"?
Yes, yes I have! 😁😁
I'm sure Clive would have some screws... but could he find them lol.
Yeah, he could just drive those over when he finds them. If he doesn't need them on his roof. lol Good stuff, Andy!
I`m sure I have some in my screw cases
