Hello from Brazil. The band broke up because Raymond (vocals) didn't like metal anymore and wanted to make electronic music. The band's drummer (and I think the guitarists too) couldn't handle the many changes in the band's line-up. The band started out in the DOOM DEATH METAL style with gothic elements. The poetic letters written in Early Modern English or Early New English, is the stage of the English language from the beginning of the Tudor period to the English Interregnum and Restoration, or from the transition from Middle English, in the late 15th century, to the transition to Modern English, in the mid-to-late 17th century. After releasing 3 albums the band changes style to electropop and metal with industrial influence (influenced by Raymond). They released two albums and then changed the vocalist and style. Now it's just gothic metal (there's something doom but secondary). This singer is Nell Sigland, the second in the band and Liv Kristine, first, joined the band in 1993 and she is the second pioneer in the DOOM METAL style but the band created the vocals "Beauty and the Beast" (female and male). The Pioneer is Kari Rueslåtten in the experimental doom metal band The 3rd and the Mortal between 1992 and 1995. Kari Rueslåtten - Why So Lonely (OFFICIAL) feat. Tuomas Holopainen from NIGHTWISH th-cam.com/video/wA8l8QM0gow/w-d-xo.html . This its from The Third and the Mortal and Tuomas are inspired by the band. Other acclaimed singer is Anneke van Giersbergen. Yet she only joined The Gathering in 1995 and the band was Trip rock, alternative with heavy guitars. His part sounds as doom metal. And I have always had a feeling that you, Dominica, would like some of doom metal. I think of one band which is not much popular, but I really have a strong feeling you would like them. They are gothic/doom metal. Maybe one day I'll make you listen to them. 😉 And the band is The Foreshadowing. I guess no one will ever request it or even recommend, but maybe one day I'll get the chance to make you react or just listen to them. 😉 But apart from that, you might like some serious doom metal, if you liked the guy's part of this song. Which might be strange for you, but as I said, I have had a feeling you might like that kind of heavy, dark, slow and very atmospheric sound.
