Good morning you beautiful couple. As my good friend would say back in the 70's, every day's a good day for listening to Rocking Rod Stewart.😊❤Stay safe
Oh man, the live version from "Overtures & Beginners" made me a Ronnie Wood fan for life. Also , great covers of "Jealous Guy" and "I'd Rather Go Blind" on that album. It's a little hard to find but well worth the search.
HOT ROD♨ When he first started performing live he used to sing with his back to the audience he was very shy. But then he said he realized he can't go on like that he faced his fears lol Then all the ladies went nutso crazy for him lol True Story!
Those 1st four Rod Stewart albums are full of beauty and magic. Off this album, would recommend at least hearing Mandolin Wind, Every Picture Tells a Story and Reason to Believe, but the whole thing is great. If you want to hear some history, when Rod broke big, hear him singing w/ the Jeff Beck Group after Beck quit the Yardbirds. Ain't Superstitious is probably the semi-famous song to check out, though they did a blistering cover of Jailhouse rock that I always loved.
I need to look up the guitar player on this. Sure sounds a lot like a Rolling Stones song! HAAA! Ron Wood who later joined the Stones was a big fan since the beginning!! Sounds like it! Awesome episode MOA! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎🎸🤟🏼
The original was by the Temptations in 1966, but there was an earlier (1970) rocking cover by the Motown group, "Rare Earth." That one is my personal favorite. th-cam.com/video/-ViMaJwOfK8/w-d-xo.html
You should listen to the original by the Temps. We heard that one before Rod's cover, Both are great. This is one of so many great hits that came out of Motown.
Here's hoping you will one day react to Rod singing The Killing of Georgie (part I and II), which in my opinion is an overlooked masterpiece and I'm not even a big Rod fan.
When Rod was rocking , one of the 3 biggest dissapointing artist whose music changed toward pop disco, along with Elton John and Chicago sucked also after Terry Kath died. Rod isnt much after Ronnie Wood . Once greats turned bubble gum music . But this is awesome
This is my favorite Rod Stewart album... favorite song on it is Every picture Tells a Story. Damn.🎉
Absolute not even a close second
I was hoping you'd get to his solo album. This is one of his best recordings! Lots of great tracks to explore... Rod at his best.
The older Rod is amazing. another great one is Mandolin Wind
This rendition will always be my favorite, also " I know I'm losing you " is a banger!
Did you mean to suggest "Stay With Me" ...?
A song first made famous by The Temptations, Rod and the boys just took it up another level.
Good morning you beautiful couple. As my good friend would say back in the 70's, every day's a good day for listening to Rocking Rod Stewart.😊❤Stay safe
My first LP. Still got it and play it over 50 years later.
Mine Too ! Always been proud of that first choice, however I mourn for what Rod turned into, a pop tart.
@@rona.7023 yeah, I went to see him/them him many times but don’t go anymore as his gigs have gone a bit too “chicken in a basket cabaret“ for me.
@@rona.7023 I agree. Not been my cup of tea for a long time. Cover of Downtown Train probably the las thing he did that was worthwhile.
Another great one! Rod was RockNRoll!❤
Excellent choice !
I used to play this LP on repeat in the 70s. Another great cover of his from that era - “I Wish it Would Rain”. Sobbed through that one many a time!

Raspy, gritty, dusty voice. Wonderful.
What William said!
Loved Dominica's reaction. One of my favorite Rod Stewart songs!! Rare Earth did a great cover in 1970, then Rod covered it in 1971.
Great performance, but the live video is sooo much more exciting (I did give a link).
Love the old rod , maggie may is a favorite for me… also released in 1971 your gonna love it… XOXO
Rod for me has always been fire !!!
Great song! This is still one of my favorite albums. Thanks for your reaction
Bought that album new..wore it out
Such a ridiculous groove. Love, love, love Woody's rhythm playing.
FIRST CUT IS THE DEEPEST, IF LOVING YOU IS WRONG, MY HEART CAN'T TELL ME NO, REASON TO BELIEVE.
Legends 🤘🤘
Very good album
Excellent Rod! Love it!!❤❤❤
I'm WITH DOMINICA in the ENJOYING!!! :) HUGS from TEXAS to YOU, BOTH!!! :)
Even though this is considered a solo album, it still featured Rod's band at the time The Faces.
Originally a Motown song by the Temptations and Rare Earth, I believe. This is my favorite. What a band.
You’ll love his official music video of “Forever Young “!
Rod in his Apex era .
His vocals were the definition of Visceral .
His collaboration with Jeff Beck remains as moving as this tune .
I would love for you two to listen to Rod Stewart, “The First Cut Is The Deepest”. Great tune!!😁
I should mention that Rod Stewart doing “The First Cut Is The Deepest” is a cover, but tome it will always be a Rod Stewart song😉😁
HOT ROD♨ When he first started performing live he used to sing with his back to the audience he was very shy. But then he said he realized he can't go on like that he faced his fears lol Then all the ladies went nutso crazy for him lol True Story!
Fun fact: guitar is Ronnie Wood now with The Rolling Stones
This album changed me....🙂💕👏🎶

Look at that album.... Not a bad tune on it, a real treat...Road and the Faces at their best....
You two need to discover more Motown! 😎
Fire!
You should check out The Temptations version.
Ronnie and Rod were together in the Jeff Beck Group in 1968, and later on in The Faces.
@cliffwheeler7357 Cool! Looks like he didn't officially join the Stones until 1976! Seems destined! ☮️
The original was by the Temptations in 1966, but there was an earlier (1970) rocking cover by the Motown group, "Rare Earth." That one is my personal favorite.

Rod has had many relationships, he has children with five women. They speak well of him , that says a lot
You should listen to the original by the Temps. We heard that one before Rod's cover, Both are great. This is one of so many great hits that came out of Motown.
Try Mandolin Wind and Gasoline Alley.
mostt of faces played on thhis

👍👍
Check out the live version with The Faces if you get a chance...
Saben amigos Rod Stewart abrió los recitales masivos en el estadio nacional en chile después de la dictadura militar véanlo 100.000 personas 1989
Please react to The Killing of Georgie, Part 1 and 2. A very serious song by Rod. 1976. He took a big risk with it.
Here's hoping you will one day react to Rod singing The Killing of Georgie (part I and II), which in my opinion is an overlooked masterpiece and I'm not even a big Rod fan.
I prefer the Rare Earth version...!
Rod's cover is good, but I like Rare Earth's cover more
NOT Small Faces. FACES.
Please give your reaction to Venny Vabiola's new official music video "Never Regret". Thanks in advance.
Temptations
Oh dear, Rod ruining another classic
There's always 1 in the crowd. I would bet everything that you're opinion is of 5 million, maybe even 10 million
