@@juniorbucknor1333 The manual is really killing it, no matter how fast you shift you just can't beat a modern auto or dual clutch. Manual just takes the power away on each shift and has to regain that power while the Vette is instant except that shit 5th gear.
No doubt the manual slow it down, please check out throttle house they did a drag race with all three muscle car an didn’t use the 1LE because of the drag, if it wasn’t a 1LE he would probably pull up top that’s just my opinion though

This guy probably shifted just as good as any of the developers at GM that built the car probs and NLS is something you have to experience in person that would make a lot of auto guys grind.
The zl1 1le is a beautiful car and track focused but everyone and there mother knows the 1le package hurts the aero when it comes to racing..all those pretty fins and shit hold you back but I'd still take it anyway and sacrifice the speed it looks so good with that package..plus most cars ain't touching you with that thing ...stock for stock atleast..there quicker then hellcats

Great race... Owning both cars - a stock ZL1 and a Z06 with Z07 package - I can say the Z06 is faster by a few cars on stock to stock...due to it being lighter and better aerodynamics design.... If this ZL1 1LE was auto, it should have been neck to neck due to all those mods! Plus it was 1 LE with much aggressive aero and the vette was on stage 2 aero!
A couple of things: 1) Did you race him in the "Race" setting in the ZL1 2) The way he just 'walked' away a little bit has more to do with the aerodynamics of the cars. The large wing of the ZL1 causes a bit of drag at triple digit speeds since it's made primarily for cornering downforce. Standard ZL1 might have been even closer with the Vette since the wing is a lower profile. Big props for the way you shifted those gears. Great vid!
People are quick to forget the zl1 is a manual, has ALOT more downforce between the massive front splitter and the rear wing that does nothing but slow it down when you’re going straight. and it weighs atleast a good 200-300 lbs more than the vette. All things considered, with the corvette being an auto and more aerodynamic, the zl1 put up a good fight.
Pretty good a C7Z with only an intake and no tune can beat a 1LE with free exhaust and a tune even if it does have all that aero slowing it down up top, and a manual. A 10L90 reg ZL1 with same mods might beat the C7Z
Great race, BUT the Manual is a killer against the auto!! If this was back in the 80's and 90's, I would say go for the manual all day!! But 2022!!???..its Auto allday!

Real close . Aero slowing down Camaro. Camaro would likely be faster on a track and definitely more reliable as far as overheating etc.

Good race, seems like the ZL1 was short shifting probably still had more rpms till rev limiter.
Regular ZL1 auto might have had him. 1LE and man. Not the best combo for this, but nothing more fun than rowing your own gears 😅
