Shout out to Chris blowing this whole thing wide open at 1:32:35 . All the puzzle pieces were there to be found, but still impressive how he managed to put them all together.
Tom upon hearing this: "Clearly it's Laurie then"
I was thoroughly impressed though not completely surprised, bc Chris's Noobs on a Gooftower YT channel has been a great showcase of his prowess
It was a delightful binge, and he's great at breaking down his thoughts as ST and player.
But as I was rooting for evil, I was sad to hear him basically dig the grave for evil.
(Also sad ive yet to see a Banshee go off; I didn't want to see Chris poisoned)
@@DasGanon They pay him to lead, not to read. He's just doing tomwork.
And in the nick of time too -- I'm fully convinced that if he hadn't spoken up right at that moment, evil would have gotten their Fearmonger win.
@@stephenberg6438 No chance of it, the votes were tied at 4, so no one was on the block.
Tilly clearly mistook her role. She's not the Nigthwatchman. She's the Knight Watchman. Her power is to watch Jon Gracie.
Brilliant!

I appreciate that Laurie has a spot on the board. 😂 I always root for whatever team he's on because of how often he loses when he has the entire thing figured out.
How can this be the case when Holly is so vocally wrong for a lot of games
@@rkk667she’s pretty good on the evil team I think
Does this include sock Sullivan?
Holly Musgrave cannot be stopped.
Only Molly Husgrave can stop her.
We are ready for a season 3. Start the Kickstarter!!
Toms words at the end made it sound like this were their last ever? 😢

"Clearly you're not an idiot. It's not on this script!"
💀💀💀
So savage 😂
I read this before seeing that moment and was like what?! But it was soooo good especially coming from Tilly of talc
Gosh..... lol
it's even funnier because there is actually a character called the village idiot xD
@@PaddleboardingFL that’s why it is funny… that was the whole joke
Dom even convinced me that he's the Cult Leader and I know that he isn't!
Dom’s *a* cult leader, just not *the* cult leader.
Easy mistake to make.
Honestly, the only real mistake was Sullivan killing Chris. Even not knowing that he was the Banshee, it might have been a better idea not to take the second poisoned player out, as this was always a danger to lead to him.
That and not using Tom more as potential demon candidate while selling worlds to the group. I'm honestly suprised how little people questioned the balloonist claim when Blaire could have very easily been a bold minion covering for her demon with easy outsider bluff and Tom could have been lying about Night watchman thing.
I Feel like Ken could have sold a world where Tilly was the Cerenovos, making him look less evil and trowing suspicion to that side of the table
Usually, killing a player hides the poison (or makes no difference, for spent roles). On this script it's really just the banshee and the plague doctor where it's the opposite.
I think sinking the kill would have been ideal. It makes everyone question their information from that point on. You can let Laurie distrust a good player or trust an evil player if he dies the following night.
Sully made a lot of mistakes actually. First, he slipped up that he knew there would be a zealot in play (which he learned from his GF) on D1. Then on D2, after Chris and Tilly said it was mechanically impossible for both of them to be poisioned, he brought up the real world (that ND could poison through all those players) as something that's way less likely than Tom lying (you shouldn't bring up that world at all, should hope it just never occurs to them). Then as the Psychopath, he kill on 5 (which he shouldn't - it just eliminates a demon candidate for no reason).
@@SaladinBarchan How do you complete that world? Let's put Tom as demon, Blair as godfather to have two outsiders and let her know what she can bluff. Pukka doesn't work with the plague doctor triggering, so Tom has to be ND. Then Laurie has to be poisoned, but why would you confirm Tilly to a poisoned undertaker?
OMG TOM CLARK
YES I SO WANTED MORE OF THIS COLLAB
I was thinking the exact same. I auto played the video and got really excited to see Tom.
Just missing Ben for the double Tom & Ben combo

@@dt284 Thats what I meant by "I wanted more"
@1:35:30 "I think doing a steward claim, in this game where we tend to kill players who have used all of their abilites, probably not very useful."
Sulivan's coasted on clockmaker before.
I thought the same thing 😅😊
which episode was that again
@@icymoons”Panic has a new face”
Tbf it was like episode 3
Players usually only want to kill the spent good roles on Day 1 and then by Day 2 usually enough shit happens that they decide to go after baddies instead. So it's not a bad bluff to sit there bluffing as the spent good role because you can always argue "Yeah its fine if you all kill me but we need to look for the demon or we're going to run out of time."
that outro bit is why this is one of my favourite channels. fly on, Sullivan
the gasp that i gusped when ken pulled out the ghost vote on the jon vote!! that was so slick and perfect timing!
I think it was the wrong play though, if understandable. They know the good team will push a real nomination through afterwards, and it's very likely with the Zealot vote that it would tie or pass the Jon vote. Not only does that waste Ken's ghost vote, but it's bad for evil to not eliminate an extra good player that day.
@@amaryllis0 i get that! i saw what ken was doing and i was more talking about the flair of it especially after the organ grinder reveal. it probably wasn't the best move in the long run but rule of cool won out for me haha
@@amaryllis0 Yeah I definitely agree with most of it, but in a lot of the Organ Grinder games I’ve seen and played, a lot of times, the first player nominated gets executed that day, so there was a higher likelihood of that one going through compared to if it was a later nomination in the day.
"I'm the Banshee/They." Is such a great joke from Holly.
Yes Tom! As a really old yogscast fan - this is such a well appreciated collab
Thank you it took me all game unsuccessfully to realise why i recognised Tom until i saw this comment
The outfits this episode were absolutely ✨stunning✨
33:23 The game unraveled when Ken very unsubtly told Sully to sink a kill on Tilly but he chose the worst possible kill instead.
I would argue, that ANY kill would have been problematic. Chris' poisoned status would have come out regardless. Yes it was unfortunate to come out so soon, but no matter when it would have come out, it would have raised suspicion, after it was revealed, that it wasn't a pukka game (since in a pukka game, there wouldn't have been a kill).
@@m.h.6470if sully had sunk the first kill, any kill after that could've been a pukka... Therefore the could've assumed Chris was poisoned when he got killed. It would've deff helped a lot 😅
Yeah sucks that Sully didn’t go for that, would have reshaped the entire game.
@@skyelardegroot2978 As I said "any KILL". Sinking is not killing, it is intentionally wasting the kill. So ANY KILL would have confirmed, that it isn't a pukka game.
@@skyelardegroot2978 I agree with you in saying that it would have been a better play, but on this script it is basically impossible to not make it obvious that the No Dashii is in play. Half of the outsiders on this script bring most likely very loud minion abilities into play so they would immediately realise that the Pukka was not in play when any such abilities appeared.
OMG seeing Angory Tom being in this made me somehow even more excited for new Blood on the Clocktower
Maybe Tom can take this info back to the yogs and they can do a botc that isn't hot garbage like their last one :P
Just remember these episodes where recorded before the errata to the balloonist and plague doctor character abilities
The wiki pages need changelogs!
I didn't know there were changes!
@@iangent9788the unofficial discord has them
What are the changes?
@@glynrh8892 Balloonist now learns a player of a different character type than the night before, not necessarily one of each type. Plague Doctor gives the ST (or another Minion depending on jinx) an ability - that can be in play.
Sully and Laurie’s grunty chat is one of the best moments in all botc history!
TOM'S HERE?! I loved his guest appearance in Chaotic Neutral, but now we get him here too. Delightful. And his shirt is practically buttoned up, barely any of that glorious chest showing.
It's buttoned cuz he's so innocent 😂
22:35 Tilly KILLING it with the jokes!
"Youre not an idiot, thats not on this script" 😂😂
I don't know how knowledgeable Tilly is about the BotC characters, but there is a role called Village Idiot. So either it's a joke or a reference.
@@Zedjait was in play in some of the in person games before this I think, so it was both a joke and a reference lol
@@ZedjaYeah exactly it was a joke because she was referencing the village idiot role that they played with before.
@@simonstanton5299 It would be more of a joke if she didn't know about the role though.
@@Zedja no, the joke is that he can't be an idiot because it's not on the script, the humour hinges on the fact that it's an existing character, it only makes sense as a joke with that context
I’m mid-watch, but the moment Laurie told Sullivan the Literal Demon that he was the Undertaker after Sullivan’s bluff, I genuinely cried out “NOOOOOO!” in my own house 😭😭 let’s see how this goes!
Both of the powerful information gathering roles chose to hard claim exclusively to the demon lol. Honestly it worked out because it put Sullivan in a bind, he couldn't kill them because he knew they would accuse him afterwards.
It was actually great for the good team because Sully found out about the Undertaker but couldn't kill him because it would make Laurie suspicious of him, then he found out about the Balloonist and the Hatter at the same time and didn't have enough time to kill everyone.
Jon Gracey immediately trusting the right people while undertaker Laurie chose Sullivan was an unexpected beginning, that's for sure !
I think Sully not leaning into the Pukka world with Tilly really set in motion the quick tracking of who he was. Tho the Chris kill is just bad luck
Leaving the undertaker alive probably didn't help since it fully outed Ken and confirmed a good'n. Really, I feel like there were a few missteps in evil's game but, tbh, I'm amazed anyone works anything out in this game so I can't really be too harsh about their choices.
I agree it is bad luck that the two poisoned Townsfolk happened to be roles that are obvious when poisoned, but I also think this script needed at least one other source of droisoning that wasn't the demon. Once they found out who was poisoned, it closed a lot of worlds. Combined with the outsider confirmation, I think it may have been objectively true that Ken, Dom, and Sully had to all be evil. I probably wouldn't have picked Chris, though, if I were Sully, in case he was an ongoing info role that would confuse town. (even if not for the option of sinking on Tilly)
Yeah, a poisoner, drunk of sailor would’ve been good to just throw the option around and keep people guessing. As for Chris, it was bad luck but it was risky to take him out. I’d have thought Tom as Ballonist or one of the (then) unknowns to the left of him would’ve been better. Admittedly this is all from an armchair and in hindsight.
* Please tell Dom I am FULLY in on his train cult, I will ramble to him about Welsh railways any time he wants

Excellent solve from Chris. Good scripts and a really enjoyable structure. Like that sometimes the outsiders can really provide good info for the good team.
Can I just say, it's actually kinda refreshing to watch a game where 1-2 players don't completely run circles around everyone else. They all seem pretty evenly matched with game strategy and understanding. Great game & video!
Blair's accidental "Bassoonist" claim is some of the hardest I've ever laughed at a Clocktower video. I love her sense of humor!
Penultimate? You mean just for this season, right? You mean "and there will be an entirely new third season coming up", RIGHT?! 🙃
I hope so, I love this serie
Season 3 would presumably hinge on another kickstarter.
@ahlpym
I hope not, it should just carry on because that's what half of the Patreon are paying for. It shouldn't be separate Kickstarter thing since they're already taking money for it
@@KaneA87
Patreon is paying for the monthly Patreon-exclusive BOTC games, which are not played in person. Those games will (probably) continue dropping at the end of every month (so we'll probably get one in a couple of days, and then another one at the end of August and so on).
But this video is one of the in-person games. Those are entirely dependent on Kickstarter campaigns.
@@KaneA87 That's... not what the Patreon money is used for. It's used for all the rest of the production costs of making NRB.
Hm. Town was very clear about thinking that Tilly is Pukka poisoned and very clearly explained exactly what would happen if that were the case. And yet Sullivan chose to kill Chris. Even though Town believing that the Demon is a Pukka and not a No Dashii would have helped him immensely.
Leaving the undertaker alive all game to confirm good'n info and fully out Ken didn't help either.
also he knew Chris was most likely poisoned so why not leave him around to spread misinformation lol
Ken thought that Chris was the soldier, leading to him both not No Dashii poisoned and being able to die if that was true. If he relayed that info to Sully, that would’ve been a good way to try to hide a kill, however sinking it on Tilly was a 100% way for that to happen instead of relying on a Day 1 claim.
Didn't Chris imply he was the soldier? Maybe Sully thought it would sink, making it seem like a pukka.
20:34 Laurie and Chris totally noselling Holly's "Banshe/they" joke is so mean lol
Omg I didn't notice that one! I love Holly
I don't think they got it. It got a chuckle out of me, though!
I love Blair in this. It seems fun to play.
Blair is always awesome in NRB games ❤

as soon as Sully, as the demon, started bluffing as a first night only info role I was like "not again"
I don’t know why both of the minions didn’t tell him to pick an ongoing role 😂
@@therussianprincess7036 he's won as a Clockmaker bluff before, I'm assuming they weren't anticipating losing a teammate so early and if they had sold a Pukka/Ojo world it'd make sense for him to still be alive (why kill/poison a YSK role?). I don't think any sus on Sully was because of his claim, it was more just locking down where No Dashii poison had to be coming from and the Hatter swap didn't really help because they were all sat together and Good could figure out the poison was passing through the minions. I don't think a stronger claim would've made much difference here
i didn't put 2 and 2 together until Tom Clark was here, but i just realized the Storytellers and Ben are Tom. now we just need Tom C and Ben E to ST while Tom and Daddy Ben play
The brandrisks themselves would get nrb in a big load of trouble.
@@dragonzord6615 NOT A BRAND RISK
😉
@@RubelliteFae definitely not a brand risk. Nope. Never!
I don't understand why the players don't see Sullys clear tells. To me he's got yhe easiest read;
- if Sullivan is frazzled, he's on the good team
- if Sullivan is calm and quiet, he's on the bad team.
Because they're used to Sully in all kinds of situations outside of BotC
@alchemicpink2392 which is exactly why they should pick up on it more. Its like when they say, "My social read on Sully/ Ken is that he's good" when they've been acting like the most obvious bad guys.
Also Doms "I'm not really following what's going on" = Evil
Ken has a really obvious tell too, if he's being chaotic- he's good
Eh, those meta tells can really ruin a game, "I know [X] is bad because of [outside of game tell]" just isn't a fun way to play.
I just discovered this game from a coworker this week and I binged all the episodes so far. So excited to be here when this dropped!
I can wholeheartedly recommend the Patreon episodes as well, some hilarious ones there and some real nailbiters too!
@@launchpad79 definitely watch the zoom games they are just as brilliant and usually longer.
Oh welcome to this lovely cult. There are so many games for you to watch.
In case you run out of stuff to binge, I highly recommend Chris's Noobs on a Gooftower YT channel
Chris's group of friends have a delightful and different dynamic to NRB, and we get to see a lot more variety bc they are online games. And Chris will ST some pure chaos for science
The Grimoire YT channel has also been very binge worthy
Holly’s Banshe/they joke was so good, it’s tragic that Laurie and Chris didn’t catch it😭😭
Giant head sully isn't real, he can't hurt you.
Tom as Baloonist? Seems like Ben work to me
I really hope people watched all the way through the video so they could experience the Sully Head song.
Missed opportunity “Sweet, Honest, Innocent, Tom”!
Nice one!
Love Tom from the Yogscast
If Sullivans head grew twice it's size every time he lied, it would only take him lying 100 times for his head to be 1,600 times larger than the entire observable universe.
It's funny to see Tom here after watching the Mothership play through earlier today XD
Mothership the Horror RPG? Don't know anything about Tom but I like that game
This script is really easy to follow, the little poison stuff makes it a good one to get into the game. I have only watched a few games, bht I'm starting to get into it now. Very nice.
I do like how we essentially played a game of Extension Cord
So I started off seeing Tom guest starring on Chaotic Neutral, then found Mystery Quest, where I saw Sullivan guest starred in a delightful Dino Island game, & I became an avid viewer - so much so, that when I saw Tom on BotCT I completely forgot that the NRB crew is why I found his stuff in the first place!
Now if we can get Lydia, Boba, Ben, Tom, Simon, Ravs, & other Mystery Quest players for future games - or send some of the NRB players over to Mystery Quest - then that would be... So cool.
(also kudos on that psychedelic end song, it was like a Bill Bailey track)
Highlight of my week 😊 Can’t wait for some more NRB shenanigans
Ken got cocky with trying to make a crazy story. He got sniffed out fast.
Sully not taking out an undertaker. Knowing who it was all game was also insaneeee
Yeah, I was surprised because Ken is usually more on point in these games. When his own bluff put sus on him right out the gate, I thought he must have a big brain play going that I was missing, but no. And I was surprised Sully let the undertaker last as long as he did too. That choice on its own resulted in several bits of good'n info getting confirmed and Ken being fully outed as a bad'n. Tbh, I feel like the evil team made a few big missteps but I guess that's easy to say from this side of the screen, where I have all the information. I feel like if I was actually in the middle of the game, I'd be struggling to figure out the right plays way more than they did, so I can't fault them too much. Either way, it's always fun to watch these guys play BotC.
So much good information so early in this game and it still took them 2 hours to put it together. That's just the nature of the game. They always assume that anything they learn might be wrong.
Not to criticise the storytellers because it can be tough to make the best, most balanced choice 100% of the time while playing, but I think honestly, had Ben gone with the Cerenovus ability after the Plague Doctor died, this play from Ken could have worked. Or caused enough confusion and chaos to take up town's time figuring it out for a couple of days, throwing sus on some of the outsider claims. The Organ Grinder ended up shafting evil a bit and I think having the Cere ability in play could have obfuscated things in a way that doesn't hand the game to evil, but hinders the good team in a way an outsider's ability should.
I don't think bluffing madness was the best ever play, but sometimes you just have to try shit as a minion, and Ken's chaotic enough as a player that he could have easily been fucking around as good as well. There were ways to make it viable but unfortunately the game just didn't pan out that way.
If he had thought of the strategy before or during the evil talk on the first day, Dom could have chosen him in the night and possibly grant evil a very early, funny win, but I guess it was more of a "spur of the moment decision", and not a very good one. It can happen to everyone, I guess.
Edit : didn't understand the rules properly, that wouldn't work at all.
If you're evil and the undertaker has hard claimed to you you have to figure out the right moment to kill them that doesn't then put suspicion on you as the only person who knew they were the undertaker. Laurie hard claiming to the town might have been the moment but at that point is it worth killing him or keeping him alive to build suspicion as to why an outed undertaker is staying alive.
48:40 - Giant head edit was gold 😂
If he had killed Laurie instead of Chris on night two, there was a good chance that they could have pulled it off because the poison clearly gave it away. Then Dom could have chosen Jon as the No Dashii and closed out the win.
they had no way of knowing Chris would be the Banshee who would know for a fact he was poisoned but you're right
If Sully hatter swaps into the organ grinder then when town executes him the next day nothing happens due to his ability and town likely thinks they just tied the vote leaving the Sully demon world open until the end of the game.
I think they still would have gone for Dom the next day, but at least it would have left more uncertainty.
The poison reaching that far helped the evil team initially, but once people had the right world it was hard to escape for the evil team.
Having recently re-watched some of the olderest BOTS episodes from NRB, I can say without a doubt how fricking good Sully has gotten at this game!
Holding off until the exact right moment.. That was amazing to see XD
I mean, first off, amazing video!
Also, please get more Tom - he always improve any situation he's in :D
“I am the (k)night“ Jon Gracey

Plus, I love the new Outsider in this game.
Much like the Village Idiot, the Zealot is another possibly disruptive and fun character to bluff as.
As with all Outsiders, on a surface level, I worry that "how is this character gonna be useful at all?" Socially, and consistently, it's really fun to see the Zealot in action.

SPOILERS
I've never seen a LIVE Organ Grinder vote that lasted allll the way until the last day. That may have been the most exciting thing yet. Defining suspense as "the audience knows something that the characters don't know"-- I was amazed at how well this entire game came together.
I was really worried that Evil would smash it, because they poisoned two townsfolk in a game with only 5 townsfolk-- but I sure learned. Never give up until the last Day.
I think the draw of the roles made a tight spot for evil. Two action roles poisoned that can unquestionably be sure (info roles are harder to be sure), and poisoned far apart leaving few possible worlds. Ken getting nailed as evil stacked weight against that side (it made a lot of sense to be Sully/Dom, fitting the demon on the other side would require a lot more work, especially needing a "good Ken")
@@Dr.Death8520 Yes. No Dashii poisoning is just not as good as it seems since it can so often and especially on this script be used to pinpoint the demon.
@@stonewolf5613 @Dr.Death8520 I think the evil team did a great job sowing false worlds, such as Tom No Dashii, or Laurie being a minion, or Sully being No Dashii poisoned / ergo Blair No Dashii bluffing as Zealot-- and all of them could work in some way (the latter two the most), although the baddies definitely got cornered the longer the game went on. Either way, it was very fun to watch.
How lovely to have Tom! Great job Tom! You really did your best in what was maybe the most confusing game! Hahaha. I love this series
I'd love to see some kind of behind-the-scenes video about what the whole set looks like.
The outro music is peak as usual.
Spoilers:
On an entirely different note, I think Dom has a tell and it's pretending to give up and lose the plot on what's happening--he's done it a few times in a row now. He's a great player socially and he's good at figuring out the puzzles when he's telling the truth, but I think he sometimes doesn't have a complete false world prepared when scrutiny lands on him (and who can blame him, especially when the script is complicated).
Chris just reading out the entire No Dashii - Zealot - poisoning situation like halfway through the game... incredible
That outro song plus animation is absolutely brilliant! I couldn't stop laughing 😂😂😂
OMG another episode with BECCA! This is going to be amazing!!!! And it isn't even my birthday nor Christmas
Today is the day Sullivans goes full William Shatner and we see his Big Giant Head.
And then the video ends like Zardoz.
Loved this script! A lot of characters that we haven’t seen a ton of on this channel which is probably why town had such a hard time even though Sully put a target on himself by killing Chris so very early on.
I'm very sad! the editor could have increased the size of Sully's head every time he lied!
the potential of this bit was so great

This was a super well done episode!!! Absolutely every single player was on their A game. And the script was “SUCH A GREAT IDEA AND I LOVED IT!!!!” Hahaha Blair was the perfect Zealot omg she had me cracking up the entire time hahaha

I cannot express how excited I am from just the thumbnail and title of this episode, I can't wait to get so much weaving done during this episode!!!
Tom is such a natural addition to these games, I love it
I love the little musical numbers at the end of some of the episodes lol
Dom's look of evil glee when showing the Fearmonger token to the camera gives me life.
It’s crazy that they put the alums of Six (musical) and The Seven (actual play d&d show) next to each other!
This was wiiiiiild. So tense and stressful towards the end...!! My heart was pounding when Sully kept quiet about that little switcheroo
That outro was everything.
I think at this time, 3 weeks later, Sullivan must be on the verge of causing a second Big Bang.
"DO YOU THINK IM THE HATTER NOW?!" Best line I've been quoting it a lot
My mind cannot really comprehend a Yogscast member sitting next to a Dimension 20 player on an episode of NRB BOTC. All of my interests are converging

Yay, Becca on Dropout and No Rolls Barred in the same week!
It would be truly amazing to also get her on Mystery Quest since Tom was here too.

Of all the great things about this episode, i must say i loved Blair's energy the most. That's the kind of of upbeat feel you need to have a good day.
Shit the bed, its Tom Clark! What a perfect group of players
Look, I'm not sure if Tom has any kind of free time, but I think that voice may well need to become the one that voices my inner monologue.
OMG TOM (from the Yogscast) IS PLAYING WITH THEM EEEEE, SURPRISED BUT VERY WELCOME

I love how this good team win fully hinges on the mechanics of the demon's ability. just a *really* unlucky placement of characters for the evil team.
Great episode as always!! Blaire knocked me out laughing more times than I can count
It's funny that Blaire ended up next to the psychopath, because they *both* think killing everyone is fun! 😂
@@IceMetalPunk Not only that, but the bassonist was exactly opposite the balloonist.
Yeah, sinking a kill night 1 to sell Pukka seemed like the only way out
What I'm wondering is why didn't they change the demon? Type of the demon that is. Was there anything other than pukka and nodashi on the script? Just wondering if they could have mixed it up.
Kind of frustrating game with the evil team placement.
Also Dom always says how he hasn't been following the things when put on the spot when he is evil.
Almost only chance for the evil team was the fearmonger vote on Jon that tied.

The other demons on the script were Pukka and Ojo.
Pukka is too slow to kill to really tie things up, so even poisoning an unpoisoned townsfolk isn't that helpful after so much time of good info.
The Ojo is a difficult one as well, because it has no protection, and if you don't know the exact role, it's unreliable and can be left to the whims of the storyteller.
At that point, there really wasn't a way out with the script available.
Actually so happy to see Tom(From the Yogscast) after their sadly butchered blood on the clocktower video lmao.
Loved the script. Id maybe throw in another poison source so the nodashi can hide more. Great video again!
Much respect to Blair for being a fellow bassoonist. Toot on!
Holly, the absolute hero of the good team.
I did not expect to see the WHOLE SENATE in this video
Laurie and Sully's Old impersonation was so funny :)
