I love how Alejo was fighting tooth and nail to keep Malakai alive just so that he could choose a better character for them to be mad as.

Ah... if only. I knew Malakai was the Cerenovus because of an unfortunate misunderstanding that Ben wasn't present for, so I really wanted to just let it be :D

As an Australian, hearing Aero brag about being covered in chicken salt was brilliant. Chicken salt is wonderful.

I used to not like the marionette as it isn't as flashy as some of the other minions, but it's definitely growing on me.
Yeah, it's that kind of character that seems weak at first on paper / in isolation if you're thinking mechanically "oh weakest minion. No ability and worse they don't even know their team" but played so different in practice because it's with people. They can read socially good.
Plus they get a free bluff, and the Storyteller gets to pick what fake info to feed them.
(Not to mention of course the strength of it just being on script so that evils can convince good neighbours they might be evil if they want)

I fully respect Chiz's desire not to know. I read so differently when I know I'm evil to when I know I'm good, I never want to know... It's fun getting surprised at the end!
I think if i was a storyteller I'd love the fisherman because it'd sate the burning desire to tell people what to do

The chances were 1/24.44 (or 4.09%) that both of Chiz's Seam picks were in Duke's Noble pings and Chiz was not one of them =(3/11)(2/10)(9/12). If Chiz had been one of them, the chances would have been (2/11)(1/10)(3/12) = 1/220 (or 0.45%). One of these has to be the case, so added together = 1/22 (or 4.55%).

actually those "chances" cant really be calculated, because alot of the events were not random
ben actively chose the noble pings as well as pixies madness target for specific purposes
the cerenovous pick could be considered random, because it was based on 0 available information
the seamstress pick was likely heavily based on the claims of the day before, so not really random either

1:50:30 the good team had the solve right in this moment, I don't know if chiz relised they were the marionette and did this intentionally but bringing up malashan as the marionette ended up causing them to gloss over it.

I just heard about this game and this is the first one I've watched. Why did the demon kill his minion?
It was basically about selling worlds, I can't say for sure exactly what he was thinking, but it was likely due to fishermen and "seamstress" both asking to be fed to a cannibal. It would be logical for the demon, no matter who the demon was, to try and stop that, and so kill one of them. By killing his minion, it sold the world where Chiz is good, which makes the good team have a harder time finding the correct solve. Note at the end, no one thought Chiz was the marionette, all worlds discussed where Skillz was the demon involved Malashaan as marionette instead, which couldn't match with Savant "once per game" info.
Ultimately, the only thing that matters for the evil team is that the demon survives to the final 2 living players. Chiz didn't have suspicion from the group as being a demon, so it is unlikely Chiz would have been voted out, and the Demon often has to try to engineer a situation where the group picks the wrong demon when it is down to 3 alive.
I can only guess, but I think there was so much poisoned misinformation out there, Skilz was not in a particular rush to kill off the townsfolk with seemingly good abilities.
@@Hix108 Wouldn't the fact that there were so many poisoned make killing off the few with good info even more valuable?
In a lot of games I've seen. The demon will keep the marionette alive to continue to use them to spread false information or just seem good. So Skillz may have also decided to kill their own minion to try to hide them being the demon. Because later in the game that sort of thinking of "why would my demon kill me as the marionette?" Starts to also play into who you accuse. And with them not knowing they're on the evil team, it helps socially that individual to be trustworthy.

Still at the beginning of my watch-through, but I think that the poisoned pixie interaction that Ben gives on night one is only if the poison goes away before the madness target dies. If the pixie is not sober and healthy when the target dies, the pixie doesn't have a functioning ability to gain another ability.
They still technically get the ability. It just doesn't work right just like when the new role was poisoned. Not giving them the ability at all reveals the poison or drunkenness.
@@Quandry1 Well, the ST is always allowed to pretend to give an ability to a poisoned pixie, regardless of who dies, and to give accurate or inaccurate info as deemed appropriate. But I disagree with calling that "getting the ability".
A similar thing happens with the marionette this game. The marionette thinks they have used a once-per-game ability, but Ben clarifies that they don't actually have an ability, therefore it doesn't count towards the number of once-per-game abilities used (a fact that is relevant to some savant info).
@@Hix108 the marionette is different. It's effectively the evil team drunk thinking they are a good role. So it has no ability. The pixie has an ability. It is just not functioning correctly. This is a subtle but important difference people often miss.
@@Quandry1 The poisoned pixie has its own (malfunctioning) ability, but when the madness target dies while the pixie is poisoned, the pixie _does not_ gain a second ability (not even a malfunctioning one). The ST can choose to simulate a second ability, but it's not actually an ability.
What would one need to do to play the game with these people?
I'm confused why Ben said Aero & Rez were not of the same alignment. Was it due to the marionette or something?
It's been nearly two years since I ran this game, but at a quick glance it looks like you're referring to the Seamstress' ability. However, there is no Seamstress in the game, because that player is the Marionette, which means they have no ability and I can lie to them. - Ben
Doesn't a poisoned Pixie *have* to receive an incorrect ability/person? Because it seems like town thought so too, and that moving the token onto the Noble kind of broke the Fisherman advice. Aero would have had the solve on day 2 if not for that change...
The beauty of poisoning is that a poisoned anything doesn’t have to learn or not learn anything. It’s important leeway for an ST to have, as it allows the ST to balance the game. In this case, Malashaan not waking up would have 100% made them consider No Dashii worlds.
If Aero did refuse to consider it, then maybe he’s just guilty of trying to meta the storyteller.
IIRC, the only time false information is required is for Vortox.
For Day 1 savant info, I would give "Either there are at least 3 players who cannot currently claim their role accurately without consequence, or it is impossible for a player to be drunk or poisoned" There are 3 players who cannot accurately claim their role, a drunk, a marionette, and a pixie. All 3 roles that can cause drunkenness or poisoning are in play

The outsider in question is the drunk.
And the false clue is that the pixie or the mutant (only madness inducing good characters) is a demon bluff.
Felt there wasn’t enough board integrity there which made it near impossible at various points for the team to figure out the noble issues.
