"I just thought three was too suspicious, and I doubled it." So stupid it had to work. I almost wonder if Noah calculated that whole sequence of events when he chose which element to use for that question
Or he chose it because carbon atom is somehow a unit of measurement) 1/12 of the mass of an atom of the most abundant carbon isotope - carbon-12 - is 1 atomic mass unit, and conveniently it has 6 protons and 6 neutrons. You may wonder, why not just the mass of a proton or neutron? Because on atomic scale sum of parts is not equal to parts separately, lol.
@@burnedpizzacrust1199 if you weight a proton and a neutron separately and sum their masses - you will get more, than the mass of a nucleus of deuterium (1p+1n). Because some of it went to the energy of nuclear interaction. If you break this nucleus and weight a neutron and a proton afterwards - they will wieght the same as before combining into a nucleus of deuterium.
@@burnedpizzacrust1199 well, it wasn't so obvious back then) You don't get this effect with EM and gravity. It also changes, for example, inertia. You need different amount of energy to accelerate nucleus and its composition separately (except, obviously, regular hydrogen nucleus, that is only a single proton). So this effect matters. Topic of AMU (atomic mass unit) is pretty interesting in general. Though different nuclei have different binding energy, and thus different mass defect, using a free proton/neutron mass is still less convenient and would annoy chemists a lot. So carbon-12 specifically turned out to be a nice middle ground between ease of measurement, nice even composition, abundance, applicability in both physics and chemistry, etc.

Hot tip: there are a bunch of technical arguments for when to use and not use commas, but the simple version is that you use a comma whenever you pause mid-sentence. If you think of writing like music, a period is a full rest and a comma is a half rest. If you can figure out diction, or just sound out a sentence, you'll know where commas are supposed to go. The technical rules are that you're supposed to use a comma to separate clauses, interjections, and items on a list. But, when you think about how English speakers talk, or, at least, how they're supposed to talk, all of those things are places where English speakers will pause naturally. Commas are also in some cases optional, like in the previous sentence during 'or, at least, how...' Neither of those commas were needed, but when you see them, you know to pause at those points and add emphasis on those words, which is how they were written and how they were intended to be read. Basically, you can feel free to drop commas wherever they'd feel natural when reading your words aloud. The optional ones are helpful even if not mandatory, and if you have the cadence down, where commas are mandatory, you're going to naturally put them there.

5:30 so nice of bro for generating money out of thin air to give some away and still gain some money 👍
I feel like I both lost brain cells and gained some while watching this. Lol. If I only knew for sure that it was possible to still gain brain cells at 30.... The random skit throughout the video that was just to promote gamersupps is so funny. I was so confused until you hit us with the ad... 😅
I really appreciate the subtitles and everything :)
22:37 Man it would seem that the budget Really increased exponentially with these awesome Evolution Transformation effects!
Lol first time viewer of the channel, that was a hilarious and slightly educational trivia show. Well done all!

The ad was amazing. I was hooked the whole time. Never have I stayed for the whole video just to see the ad.
I love how you added random segments that don't had anything to do with the video, but is just a trick, find it funny and creative, hope that they sponsored you more ^^
