There was a statement for New 52 Superman essentially saying that if he went all out he would be able to destroy the Phantom Zone. That's probably a huge outlier for him though and it's not something he ever actually did.

I think Mxy got shafted in the end of his episodes. Really! The writer's had Mxy say his name backwards twice to get rid of him forever and than his own dimension put him on trial for breaking his word. Mxy needed more than 2 episodes.

Dr. Manhattan is quite easily one of the most powerful beings in recent DC history. Lex Luthor outright stated that Dr. Manhattan is the most powerful being he has ever encountered, that statement including the likes of the Batman who Laughs, who was capable of defeating the Spectre and kidnapping the Overmonitor, Mobius the Anti-Monitor who he fought as the new God of Apokolips(though to be fair, Mobius was not wielding the Anti-Life Equation at the time) and the countless times he met and battled Superman. Definitely a force to be reckoned with.

@@ChauNyan I was once arguing with somebody that was saying that Dr. Manhattan wasn't even planetary. A being beyond a 5th dimensional imp with medium manipulation power and can transcend to some extent his fictional reality is lower than planet level.

I wish they had keep the cartoony Mxy instead of redesigning him to make him look like a tiny realistic man. The different artstyle really makes him look like a being from a different reality.
That feat where you mentioned that MXY had given his power away. that right there is what superman fans use in debating against opponent. No Superman fans actually manages to see something that you people did not, both prime and mixy were on/in the source wall, the wall that has trapped and killed millions of gods, yet the so called "weakened mxy" or "powerless mxy" was able to move around the source wall no problem, meaning that he was still as powerful or more powerful than the source wall itself.
Also don't forget the fact that prime broke into the fifth dimension to kidnap mxy, that feat itself should make prime fifth dimensional

In this situation, MXY had given his powers away and even then super boy couldn't actually do anything meaningful to him any with MXY basically explaining that he had just been messing with super-boy the whole time and that he was the ultimate trickster god and that was his whole deal in the first place. At the end of the scene, we do see the MXY still seem to be scared of super-boy implying that super-boy could be powerful in the scene but even though he doesn't scale to a full power MXY. So there you have it.
@@crystalicfire6630 Prime breaking into dimension is no big deal. Hulk has done it many times in comic. He's in even broke reality before as well. Trion juggernaut broke multiple dimensions too.

Like yeah, they broke into dimensions, but those could have been any dimensions, maybe Asgard, which is defined as a dimension, or maybe mephisto's realm. These two dimensions don't really compare to the 5th dimension where there are being capable of destroying and recreating multiverses for fun. So unless those dimensions they broke into were actually named and not just some random ones, its going to be hard to how say if their feats of ripping into dimensions are equally or greater to superman prime's

Being that MXY presides over the 5th dimension.. Would it make sense to conclude that he himself is dimensionless or beyond the concept of dimensions given that he can defeat darkseid and Spectre who are (at least to my understanding) outerversal? Or does that concept only mean they superseed spatial dimensions with the 5th dimesion being something else entirely.

I love the fact that Mxyzptlk is one of the most powerful characters in DC comics but rather than be yet another Crisis villain or be relegated to Vertigo canon he just uses it to mess with people. He's just a little goon with the powers of a god

New gods are beyond the concepts of dimensions making them what many communities would call outerversal, the time they observe is a higher order of time called hypertime.

It wasn't really a ret-con but it was basically later elaborated that the 5th dimension is imagination and it's own realm and not a 5th spatial dimension.

Great job, a Flash video wouldn't be bad
You left out his recent appearance in Doomsday clock (possibly a tie in) where there was an imposter posin g as Clark Kent who turned out to be the imp hiding from a being even he considered a treat... The other being his final appearance in the silver age , the classic Whatever Happened to the Man of Tommorow written by Alan Moore and drawn by Curt Swan. A unique take on the character and one of the only times he was truly defeated.
I am aware of both of these (I read every Mxy appearance for this video). This first is not a tie in to Doomsday clock it went across several of the Superman comic lines and he does reference Manhattan. I didn't bring up any of them because Mxy doesn't really have any feats in each of them and the What happened to the man of tomorrow stuff is elsewhere too so it doesn't apply to the mainline Mxy and there wasn't enough to talk about for it otherwise. He actually does stuff in the other elsewhere stories I mentioned so.

Injustice is a separate continuity so no otherwise yes. I would be very surprised if Trigon pulled off something like that in the main continuity.

trigon was evenly matched against mxyz? isn't darkseid stronger than trigon? How was trigon that powerful in that comic?
That comic run is a bit weird with power scaling, mostly for surprising deaths. Its version of Darkseid somehow managed to capture the Black Racer, but also kinda got intimidated by Superman to not mess with Earth, and Superman couldn't do anything to Mxy or Trigon, also he got knocked out by Alfred once.
trigon is actually incredibly OVERPOWERED and probably just as stronger if not stronger then mxy the thing is though trigon gets a sever power nerf/scale down whenever he does anything due to the rules of multiverse.
and DC kinda doesn't wana touch him for some reason.
so everytime we see trigon just like darkseid we only see avatars of him.
the thing is characters around trigorn/darkseid level are just so strong that we can't really write them into stories.
i think true form trigorn is slightly stronger then true form darkseid.
the thing about trigon though is he kinda cheats with power and at times is above true form darkseid/mxy and at other times he's jobbing like crazy being beaten by teenager kids with outfits.
its really hard to write with trigon since he's immortal,exists outside of time and space and has already conquered near infinite dc universes and dimensions so really there's just nothing you can do with him outside of trying to take over earth.
because of how hard it is to write a story with him i think ultimately that is why dc stays away from trigon.

With all your knowledge about dc i would love to see a video ranking dc character by power. Essentially a dc hierarchy. A lot of people seem to forget people like trigon and Hight Father when ranking dc characters.
Yes! Reality warpers are hard to compare, but it'd be nice to have a definitive list from someone who clearly knows what they are talking about.

Where is Mr. Nobody, or the Eonymous? Where is the true form Leviathan of stories or even milkman man? There are a number of characters that would body the Presence and the Endless, Star Archer, and Greg Feely for example see them as fiction
@@daraghokane4236 I could show you scans and calcs of Darkseid being above the source and the angels if you want, Star Archer alone transcends DC and sees them as fiction, you say they are meta fiction, the ideas they represent are ones that would only exist within their lower reality they are not representations of ideas that fictionally transcend them, the oversphere is stated to be above heaven as well I've got scans of Dream being contained within a black hole also, being concepts does not put you above beings that would transcend the very metaphysics and concepts of your reality

The problem with Warhammer and 40k is that it is incredibly vague and cryptic in it wording for proper power scaling and also inconsistent a lot of the time.
Like the famous scene when Emperor is being chocked to death by an Ork warboss at the Battle of Gorro and needed Horus to save him, even tough the Emperor should be magnitudes past that. Or when a Primarch captured a las cannon blast in his hand and crushed it like it was a solid object. Or how the Avatar's of Khaine who is supposed to be a fragment of a lesser Chaos God given a pseud- mechcnical form and gets punched to death by Calgar or choked by Fulgrim (yes the chocking meme is real in 40k.)
Especially the Chaos gods, at one source they are afraid of the Emperor, in another they consider him their equal, another they consider him just a minor distraction from their Great Game. Like one source portray them that the chaos Gods need sentient life in the Galaxy to sustain themselves but another claims that they are truly infinite and immortal and use 99.9999999999999-something-% of their power to fight each other in the warp in every dimension that exists, existed and will exist and only an infinitely infinitely small fraction of their power is used to influence the Milky way galaxy. Or how Slaneesh already existed before he was even born because times-space BS.
Like earlier Games Workshop suggested that WHFantasy and WH40k are connected through the warp but then they retconned that and said that they are no connected, but then they made Age of Sigmar which had suggestions that they are connected again now they are rebooting Warhammer Fantasy again which brings up more questions again. At this point frankly nobody really knows for sure.
Sadly 40k lore is just all over the place to make sense out of it, that is why the famous quote from Games Workshop created when asked about canon "Everything is canon, not everything is true." Meaning no matter what source you look at novels, codexes or video games nobody can be certain that it is true, it could be just imperial propaganda or the praise of chaos worshipers or the words of gibbering madmen or legends of glorified heroism told to to inspire soldiers.

An important reference was missing. Alan Moore, in "Superman: Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?" (1986), reveals that Mxy was, in fact, an evil being, Superman's greatest enemy all the time.

@@tezmard3003 Mr Mxy's true form was that of a terrible monster. He just wanted to look like a silly pixie to see if he would like it.
That is not what happened in that storyline and it's an elsewhere story unrelated to the main Mxy that I didn't mention because Mxy had no feats in it.
Mxy basically explained in "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow" that as an immortal being he gets bored eventually. First he just did absolutely nothing for years, then he was absolutely good for 2000 years, then he was a trickster for 2000 years and then he finally reveals to us that he's now going to be absolutely evil for 2000 years and maybe he'll feel guilty for 2000 years after that. He's not truly "an evil being" it was just a phase for him like all the others.
Superman then uses the phantom zone projector at the exact moment that Mxy tries to return to the phantom zone and it kills him. Superman then removes his own powers using the gold kryptonite with the reveal being that there was no "greatest villain" everyone thought Superman died because he took his own powers away and went on to live a secret normal life with Lois.
Would like to see a video on Zatanna and Dr Fate and see just how powerful they are, but also what you think the events of Doomsday Clock have done to the DC universe and how it will move on from here.
