Are you coming to Brazil from the US? So there is a new Bolivian low cost airline company called viva that started to fly from the USA, specifically from Miami to Brazil with a stopover in Medellin. If you are planning to take this airline company I will give you a review and tell you my experience with it and some tips and details you have to be aware with viva! And in the end of this video I will tell you if I recommend you to take this airline or not and why. Before we start, I want to let you know that I did not received anything from viva air to make this video and I paid by myself for the tickets!
So the first thing is that I could note is that viva air is really cheap compared with other airlines. You can travel to Brazil for less than 200 dollars, when I was buying the price was 160 dollars each ticket, so it would be 320 American dollars to go and come back from Miami to São Paulo. This is really cheap when we compare with other airlines, but there is a reason and I will explain everything to you! Viva air flies from Orlando also.
This price include only a backpack that you can bring with you and put under the seat in front of you. If you want to bring a hand luggage you will have to pay more 63 dollars for each ticket. If you want to check in one luggage you will pay more 110 dollars. 2 luggages more 149 dollars. I know that it is how the low cost companies work and it is not a criticism, just telling you the prices. Even with this, it is still cheaper to travel with viva air.
And how was the experience with the flight? So they are very strict with the weight of the luggage, and you cannot pass half kilo or one kilo… Other thing you have to be aware is that you can check in only 20 kg per luggage and not 23 kg as in other companies. If you buy in advance is cheaper than to buy in the airport counter and you win a priority boarding and a seat in the emergency seat or in the first rows. This was nice. Other thing is about the terminal that you will board in Miami. It is a really bad terminal with no lounge and few and bad options to eat and drink. I don’t know how it was in Orlando. It is something to consider principally if you have access to lounges in your trip as the options to eat and drink in the flight are not so good… I don’t know how it is in Orlando airport.
Lets talk about the flight! It was in the schedule, everything went well but the seats do not recline and they are not comfortable, principally if you are traveling during the night as we made. Besides this, the space for the legs is ok, but I was in the second row, so I do not know how is the space in the seats behind, but I thing is the same thing. If you flew with viva air leave me a comment how was your experience. The flight attendant were kind and polite.
About the entertainment in the airplane… there is no screen and you should bring your own computer, tablet, book, or whatever you want to spend your time.
The stopover in Medellin was good and really quick.
So this is a low cost company and it operates as a low cost company. If you want to accept this kind of service I really recommend you to fly with viva air. If you are traveling without any luggage I really think that the price is worth it and it will make you arrive in São Paulo! If you are traveling with luggage the price is still nice, but the service and the less weight you are allowed to bring with you make me thing about searching for another company. Of course it will depend on how much money you want to spend and about the comfort you want. It is nice to have this new option to fly with viva air and the competition and other companies will be the best for us, the customers!
If you want to know something, let us know and we will make a video!

Viva doesn’t fly in Brazil! You can choose between Latam, Gol and Azul.
