And today I’m going to show you a really typical System of restaurant in Brazil. It is a self service Restaurant that you pay the weight your dish has! So it has a price per kilo of food and you pay proportional to this price. This is why in Brazil is called like kilo restaurant!
It’s a very easy system you just have to take your dish put the food you want and before you eat you have to put your dish in a balance and pay the proportional weight to the kilo! There are some restaurants that have breakfast, lunch and dinner option. And also depending on the restaurant and how much you eat you also have the option to pay one fixed price and have all you can eat in the buffet.
There are a lot of options of different restaurants. Probably you will find a restaurant that is near your hotel. There are a lot of options, so you will have to test and see what you like. But pay attention, some prices can vary if you are eaten Japanese food or barbecue. There are a lot of options of restaurants with Brazilian food from different regions. You should try a restaurant from Minas Gerais called Comida Mineira.
And what is a good price for a kilo?
A good price per kilo is between 40 and 50 reales, but the restaurant is simpler. Yes you can find a cheaper one, but I don’t recommend you to go because of the quality and the chance to get an intestinal infection. You can also find a better restaurant and pay more for the kilo, that can cost around 80 and 100 reales, that is around 20 dollars per kilo, and if you want to eat the Japanese food it’s 100-120 reales, that is around 22 dollars!

Where I used to live in Brazil 80 reales per kilo of food is considered an expensive restaurant. It has a lot of options of foods and a really good quality. But you have other options there are cheaper than this restaurant that you can search in the area where you are. I think a fair price For a restaurant to eat every day is 40 to 50 reales for a kilo! But again you can’t find it cheaper than this price but be aware with the quality of the food.
In the city where we live we have some options of restaurants that you can pay only 15 reales and you can eat all you can put in the dish. You have other restaurants that is the same system but you pay fixed price and you can eat as much as you want.
If you are out of the budget you can also ask for a Prato Feito in Portuguese, or the translation a Made Dish! In this system you pay a fixed price and other people serve you in a recipient that you can take out and eat in your house! The price varies between 12 and 25 reales and it depends on the quantity of food and also the restaurant and the quality!
Normally the Prato feito is made of rice, beans, salad, a meat and a potato or pasta depending on the side one or two people can eat.

These all you can eat buffet restaurants are one of my favorite things in Brazil. I’m from USA. I love the one price for multi-plates to fill up and sit for an hour or more with my Brazilian boyfriend. I always eat more than he does. I enjoy trying different foods and recipes that are not in the USA. I like to pay the one price of about R$15 for a large lunch. I’m a big eater as we say in USA.

Não tenho nemhuma idéia qual é o preço de uma refeicão simples - não sei o que é kilo e os americanos também não vão ter nemhuma Idéia.
Por favor - me dá o preço da quantidade de comida que você mesmo come normalmente em uma refeição.
Quero também saber o diârio de um Hotel simples - duas ou três estrelhas, por exemplo -
1) em São Paulo
2) no interior
