I just found your channel 2 or 3 weeks ago. This video reminds me of my hot rod days back in the 1960s. I especially enjoy some of the earlier videos of the Chevy trucks and how you combat the rust. It's some amazing stuff. I know there are bigger TH-cam channels but I have not seen any with as much detailed video.
With that kit the hole doesn’t need to line up. If you look at the fitting that screws into the carb it’s a small diameter than the piece it slides into. My holes never lined up either an runs perfect.
i got 1990 k5 blazer 5.7 had it rebuild with a few up grades everything is pretty mush stock i up graded the cam to a howard cam rattler lift 225/230 duration 0.50/227/235 centerline 03 i still have the factory swirl port heads i got headers 3' pipes all the way back i up graded my torque converter to 2000 to 2400 stall and 4:10 gears i just put my engine in about a week ago it was a tbi so i converted it to carb...im having problem trying to get it to run right i put a brandnew edelbrock carb 1406 on it..i got 12-887 holley regulator set it to 6 psi i got it to run starts up good but its backfiring and popping out my exhaust ..i have a vacuum port on my regulator but did not hook it up dont no if thats the problem or not..or is the carb to small for my set up...you can smell the burning and the raw gas in park when u accelerate and give it more gas it sound good but at idling its popping and backfiring like someome popping fire crackers..tell me what you think
Once the snow melts LMAO 😂 come on man you know you want to make a giant figure eight!!! May 2nd 92° Destin Florida sorry about the snow my friend LOL!!
Did you push up on the line to clear the heater hose after you noticed it would touch? Just wondering how flexible it is if I need to do the same. Thanks!
Thank you! I need to replace this for my small block 350 in my c10. Never done it but it seemed pretty straightforward. Question, when you took out the line from the fuel pump, did a lot fuel spill out? Thanks In advance
You are going to loose fuel. Have some rags and maybe a pan ready. Always be very careful with fuel. People don't realize how easily it ignites until it happens.
I have the same set up, of which I really like, but the fuel line itself is a little longer then I would like, have you in time come across an assembled line that is shorter by any chance, ??
The fuel line that you pulled off the carburetor..what size wrench did you hit it with?..I'm trying to take mine off my 1406 carb to install my fuel line kit but none of my wrenches are working
I ordered the same set up but my Mechanical Fuel pump has a (I am guessing) 5/16 outlet. I got the 1/4 and 3/8 but both did not fit. Looks like the elbow connector does not come with 6an to 5/16 npt. Any ideas?
Check the playlist on this car. I have the starter we used on video. I believe it's a Proform high torque. Been very happy with it. We just did a Tremec conversion and the starter bolted right in and worked with the new flywheel.
Check the playlist on this project: th-cam.com/play/PLZwy_pK9cqiOgAFVXcd357_D6TX_-yAY_.html I might have shown it in the carb video but not sure. I think it was a Summit Racing fuel pump or Edelbrock. Can't remember.
@@mossman381 ok got it. I read 1 of your comments that said it was a stock pump so I was wondering how you got away with 12 psi and my car wont lol. It's not stock, it's a purpose built pump for edlebrock carbs. And I think Holley works same psi. Still blows my mind how factory carb runs great on hi psi, yet when you put a 500$ hi performance carb on, it has to be reduced as little as 4 psi lol.

what fitting did you use for the ''IN'' fitting of the Mechanical pump?
Thank you for explaining every fitting and the size threads really help me out👍🏽🏁

Thanks, I am glad you like my channel. It's pretty hard to compete with big channels and people with unlimited funds.
The elbow thats included is a 3/8 NPT, because Edelbrock pumps use a 3/8 line.
Looks good Randy! She sounds good! Hopefully you and dad can wrap it up in time to cruise this summer
The plan is to get it mostly done for this summer.
Sounds great man, super clean look. I like it!
🗣 CLEAN!!! 🏆🏁🏆🏁🏆
Nice car 🤙🏽
Thanks! 👍
Good job on the video
Did the hole on the banjo fitting have to line up with the hard chrome fuel line? I purchased one and no matter how I install it they do not align.

Hope you didn’t put your plow away yet I’m in Jefferson wisconsin for the big swap meet and it’s snowing pretty good
It all went south. Can't say I am sad about it :)
It us at the swap meet we got 3 inches

Sounds like a timing problem? Have you adjusted the idle mixture screws?
Did you check all plug wires? Maybe you got a few wrong.

I believe there is some movement. We have had no issues with this.

mossman381 thank you! I also ordered from your amazon links and got the summit AN fitting. So hopefully you get some money from that. Take care
@@justintutogi47 I appreciate that. Every little bit helps.

Nice vid!!
Great video but you should have the filter before the pump, you don’t want stuff getting in there either.
Wonder if this set up works with a stock fuel pump, nothing wild.
We are running a stock type fuel pump. Summit brand.
I might do that set-up. What size wrench to remove original fuel fitting from carb. Thanks.
Not sure. It's been awhile since this was done.
Choke needs to be secured open some kind of way .
I have the same fuel line. Do you feel like the fuel line is rubbing against the alternator bracket a little much?
No, I think it will be fine. If you are really worried about rubbing put something on it where it's rubbing.
@@mossman381 thanks man!!! I may just put some insulation..

I would get a new fuel pump with the 1/4 or 3/8. You will end up having a bunch of adaptors to make your setup work.
What’s the part number for the manual choke bracket? Iv been looking everywhere for one
I am not sure.
@@mossman381 ok thanks man
Very nice bro do u have a regular starter or high torque 4hp starter? Sounds nice on start up

What did you do with the return line ???
No return line on this car.
When is that thing going to get painted?
Hopefully sooner rather than later. Would like to run the car this summer.
What’s the size of your air filter?
I believe it's just a standard 14" but we had to get a short one to fit under the hood.
What headlights do you have in your s10
The white s10 I have now has factory headlights.
What fuel pump do you have ?

Is your pump regulated for low pressure? The stock pump has too much psi and I had to buy a pressure regulator to reduce to like 4 psi.
The fuel pump is an edelbrock or summit racing pump. Can't remember off hand. It is only rated to like 6 psi. Haven't had any issues with it.
