Thanks for your video. I don't know whether you've used this for long at the time you did your video but I also have some NowLight and SatLight and they don't do what it says on the tin. On the packaging, it reads that '1 minute of pulling generates up to 2 hours of light'. I have tried this religiously following the instruction and using the lowest lumen and you'll be lucky to get 30mins of light while pulling for 5-10mins so if you like a good work out great and it does help for short emergency use but that's about it and expensive for the price. However, my biggest complaint is the very poor quality of the plastic cord, I have hardly used it and it breaks in no time because the plastic cannot stand the slightest bending when stored away. When contacting the company about it, they acknowledge the issue and that's why you get spare parts included with the light in case it breaks. I just don't expect to have to replace parts shortly after using a brand new product. To me it's just design failure. Thirdly, charging other devices (i.e moble phone etc) on the Nowlight. It will work if the Nowligth is fully charged up because a phone will use great amount of energy from the NowLight battery. It will not work if the Nowlight batery is not charged up enough (at least more than 50%). And that brings me to talk about the SatLight. Again the manufacturer is honest enough to explain in their Q&A on their website that the SatLight will fail to work or won't switch on altogether if the Nowlight is not charged enough in the first place. I have asked Deciwatt how much charge is required and they couldn't answer my question so that I find the Satlight pretty useless off grid unless one had a chance to almost or completely fully charge up the Nowlight on a mains electricity supply or with the solar panel and that's subject to the sun being fully out for several hours that day! It takes hours of charging on solar and also from mains if your battery was very low. I doubt you can fully charge the Nowlight fully while pulling the cord if the battery is low and if that's the case forget about charging your phone or using Satlight with the Nowlight. So to conclude, I'm returning the Satlight to the manufacturer for refund (good customer service so far although very slow response due to apparently shortage of staff...), I may keep the Nowlight and solar panel despite that the cord material is prone to snap and very awkward for storage because of this, my view is that it is only ok for emergency. occasional use so not worth the money to my opinion. An additional question is: what do we do with the battery when it needs changed, what is its lifespan? Batteries are very bad for the environment both because manufacturing and recycling of lithium is pretty problematic to date.
Excellent review, Dan. Just gadgety enough to be super cool, while simple enough that anyone could use it. The best part by far, no expensive, expiring batteries to be bothered with and ample light when you want or need it most. Love it and will look into it. Thanks.
This could even be cool in my dads allotment sheds, no electric there. Any emergency situation, free quick temporary light and charge with a short time spent pulling the cord of the solar charge runs out 👍
This is a great little bit of kit and I'll definitely be getting one, my only slight gripe is that this replaced the gravity light, I would've loved to have seen that concept developed further and improved upon. I love the idea of just lifting a bag or weight up and instant power.
Sorry about that! We have just put a email sign-up form on our shop page. Give us your email and we will send you a notification when NowLight is back on sale. Great little lighting system. What a bright idea! Thanks for reviewing it. I had no idea there was any such thing. After your interesting review I found it here in the States on Amazon for 149 dollars.
Hi Dan. I have had the Nowlight for a couple of years now but I upgraded the lighting as i did not find the original bulbs were powerful enough so I bought a couple of 60W rechargeable usb bulbs which are roughly £8 each and come with a recharging cable these can be plugged into the Nowlight and be recharged and give out much more light at 180 lumens with a 6500K white light. We were glad of the Nowlight and New bulbs when there was a power outage for three days. I know of nothing else on the market that can provide lighting and charge mobile phones and that is at this price range.
Great review cheers Dan - this is a really cool piece of kit! 😁👍 Could be ideal to fit to a wall in a Bothy where there is no electricity amongst some other really great uses, love this 👌
Hi Dan and Mazzy another great video from you two ,i love to watch your videos its great entertainment also who designed your travel trolls tv sticker ? keep up the good work
Great product it has a good light for the size of it and having the extra light you attach makes it even better, thanks for the review. If the battery was bigger it would just take longer to charge and would make the product more expensive. So the battery is properly the right size for what it's designed for.
Dan wouldn't say it was great if he thought it was rubbish, he'd say it was rubbish. Dan and Mazzy have said in many videos that they give true and honest feedback for the free product sent to them. They don't get paid anything apart from being sent the free product, no commission, nowt.

Amazing Review Dan, The light is amazing, so many different uses and the solar panel just makes it so handy for off the grid or camping use.

So funny. Remember those dynamos on your bike, the faster you peddled the brighter it got and the faster the tires punctured.
Good review Dan nice little item

Good review Dan but expensive for 3rd world.
Third ish
Like it loads .
it would be awesome if all of these companies would move to USB C or another typical USB type charger for them.
in a big pinch you can just charge your power bank with this thing on charge with its solar panel and there you go ...
So so funny 😆 just hilarious 👑🧢
Thats a lot of pulling dan :)
Cool
Nice
A paid promotion isn't really a review though.
