I appreciate how the colours change when seeing from the others perspective. The background of the "in-love" one is pink, due to the happiness and love, and the background of the other one is black/grey due to his depression/sadness. And when they're together it's pink again, but Black shadows arise from the back of the sad one. Nice little touch.
old comment, but its almost like they are in totally different worlds (Not literally, I mean their perspective of the world), and the two of them are irregularities to each other. For instance in Silver's point of view, Jalen remains grey with the opposite also true. They are each in the same situation yet processing it very differently. I doubt it was intentional but that's how I saw it! Amazing job on this animatic!

Theory for what happened. He went to shoot him but got kissed. Realising there is still love there. Only shot him to leave an injury. Took him away and continued his revenge plot so they could love again.
I seriously thought that would happen. I actually thought he was going to kiss him when/if he shot him.

I'm darker than you. I think that Jalen shot Silver and it was fatal, but slow fatal, and Silver lived long enough to kiss Jalen one more time, and with his dying breath he said 'I never moved on' AAAND DEATH.
I liked how Jalens eyes turned to blue briefly while they were getting all close near the end, like maybe the real him was trying to shine through and give his love.

I want to know the tale behind this story so bad. Here’s my theory for what happened:
Silver and Jalen we’re past lovers, who loved each other dearly, after an accident of some sort, Jalen gets possessed by some sort of evil, and with each days that evil infects his mind and makes it worse, not wanting to hurt Silver, he casts himself away from his lover and promises to himself that Silver will never have to see him like that. So silver goes days not knowing what happened to Jalen and wanting badly to see him. Jalen’s “curse.” Grows worse as his malice and evil grows inside him and he can’t even think straight. His desire to see his lover finally breaks when he goes to see him after so much time without ever seeing him, while Silver is overjoyed, the evil inside Jalen wants only to kill silver. But the real Jalen is fighting back not to hurt the one he loves.
This might not be true at all, but this was the dramatic story I got from this animatic. It’s only a theory
SPOILER ALERT: that sort of puts me in mind of the ending of a story in the mlp comic books. princess celestia and star swirl visited a world thats the opposite of there own so often that reality starts breaking apart and for some reason, the only way to restore the balance is good king sombra making the opposite world's celestia and luna good and himself evil by absorbing the bad vibes from both of them and that comes with a price of having to avoid the good celestia he loved both so the balance wont become unstable again and so he can protect her from himself T-T
I find it better interpreted closer to the song's source material. Jalen got framed by his best friend and found himself in lifetime prison, after years locked away, he manages to leave with the assistance of a spirit of vengeance, and finds out that his old life has been supplanted by his best friend who married his fiancée, silver, and took over his property.
He returns as a wealthy foreign nobleman with the intention to bring vengeance to the people who have wronged him, both his best friend and his fiancée

I love this animatic. It tells such a gripping story. I crave to know the rest! It's like reading the prologue of a book that's missing all its chapters! I'm hooked, and yet can not read farther. Please, if you can manage it, write the first chapter of the tale. I believe it's going to be a good "read" so to speak :)
That's what I think! It's beyond a simple retelling of The Count of Monte Cristo. The maze was beautiful with their expressions, especially those that were due to their movements and positions to each other.

lol I watched the musical then I watched the movie, and honestly and this animatic is so nice
that teardrop animation was some Miyazaki-tier stuff and the maze scene that had them jumping back between purple and gray was an excellent dramatic choice, awesome job

This is my very first time watching ANY of your videos. I already love this and love your OC designs. The story was fitting for the nature of this song. I mean come on, Silver is just happy to have found Jalen after he thought Jalen died. Jalen however simply used Silver's emotions to lure him into his trap so he can kill him. That is so messed up and yet, the perfect tragic love story. (You can make it friend wise, but this is a love song, so I'm going with the original song route, lovers with a past)
Edit: How many of us still want Jalen to kiss Silver at the end of the song after watching it at least a dozen times?

Okay so I love this song to pieces and use it as inspiration for a character arc of my own, and holy cow. This has got to be one of the better animatics for it I've ever seen. That shot of Silver sliding down the banister of the stairs was really well drawn, especially. There was such a sense of purpose and action in this whole thing, and it's great.

I've rewatched this like 10 times, 100/10, very gucci.
So...
First of all this is gorgeous! The art - I wish I could draw this well, and I think I _could,_ but the whole knowing that my current art skill is not up to par with the images in my head paralyzes me out of even trying 9/10 of the time.
Second, my take on the ending...the _way_ you ended it, I really don't think Jalen is going to change his mind on his own about shooting Silver. If there's ever a part 2, picking up where this one left off, that trigger is going to be pulled UNLESS something else happens (i.e., Silver says _exactly_ the right thing/someone else finds them there).
DragonWriter6x12 First: Honestly these aren’t the exact images that ere in my head either! There more rough. Also never be discourage to draw. You should be proud that you have these ideas in you head and if you just sit down and draw you find that it might come out even better! So i encourage you to draw!

SO I had to comment again because I've been rewaching this and it's really incredible. The animation may not be "smooth" in the fact that it's not fully animated, yet you made each frame work for the story and the characters. The characters portray so much emotion that I actually felt worried for Silver when Jalen pulled out the gun. That is not only good animation, that's awesome story-telling and use of emotion. Awesome project, I look forward to seeing what else you produce.

((Also getting teached by people who have animated movies like Disney’s Mulan/the Iron Giant and they’re brutal))
