The very _moment_ the Count starts singing is upsetting. That "This man is dead" just strikes my heart like a hammer, because I know how this specific story goes. He could've spoken to Mercedes, he could've told her his plans... but to what end? It would've meant nothing. In the end, at least he spared her son, a young man that he himself truly didn't wish to kill either. It's such a good book. It's also so upsetting to read. I kept screaming at it, "There's a better way!", but to no avail. Binded pages cannot hear me.

This is one of those instances where I actually preferred the movie to the book, only because Edmond and Mercedes get back together. So mad that didn't happen in the book

I've watched the movie multiple times, and the reason Mercedes married Mondego was because she was with child and couldn't provide for two. So, maybe the reason Fluttershy married Twilight is similar to that?

i'm 18 now, I can't describe how much joy and happiness this used to bring me as a child, watching this over and over again. Im going to into animation college and and looking for inspiration remembered this series. Its just so beautifully and I appreciate all the work and effort that went into this. I like how the stars flicker when Edmond Dashie says “this man is dead”. To me it struck me as a neat reference to the star he and Fluttercedes shared back before his spirit got crushed to dust, flickering as the last shreds of hope for their reunion die. I really love all the little details you guys put into these! Just rewatched all of them, and I’m not even in the mlp fandom anymore! Keep up the good work!

Wow, I'm at a loss for words. This must be the most polished animatic ever. It really shows how much your artstyle has evolved over the last two years. The backgrounds look like they're right out of a painting, the floor and glasses have detailled reflections in them, the characters themselves look more polished than ever. But also the way everything moves looks very professional and smooth. You both did a truly fantastic job on this video, and I think it was well worth the wait =D

Count Monsparkle is the best, not only does he reply to repetitive comments about the story of Monte Cristo, he also makes German translation videos for the animatics, synthesias and has uploaded the entire Monte Cristo musical on his channel for all to see (It's in german but he's added english subtitles), and all-round is an amazing person. (Now if only the animatic's Count Monsparkle could learn a thing or two from him XD )

I am in shock of how amazing this video has come out. I was practically screeching in excitement when I saw the video pop up and I am no way shape or form disappointed. This has truly come out amazing, it really shows the time and effort put into the project and definitely was worth the wait. Looking back from the very first Count Of Monte Cristo Animatic of yours all the way to this astonishing fifth you can very much see the improvement and development of two talented siblings. The art is breath taking, the music fitting and lovely and the outcome truly amazing.

I don't really care for MLP or anything like that, but after a 'Jekyll & Hyde' pony animatic I stumbled upon about a year ago, I always find myself clicking on videos like this and I'm rarely disappointed. The music choices and theatrics, even if I don't care for the art quality itself, always leave me satisfied and re-watching and more often than not, open the door to a new musical or sound to me. To that extent, I find myself pleasantly surprised and appreciative of the tastes of the MLP fandom.
So I've never had this full-screened before on the thumbnail, so I never noticed that you can see Shycedes in Edmond Dashie's eyes. Gorgeous attention to detail on the THUMBNAIL! That's dedication!

In most movies that use this, it ends with the main couple coming together, such as in Tangled and Pocahontas 2; Journey to a New World. It is quite popular and is used well here.

You know, I now feel REALLY bad, cause this has to be one of the BEST Christmas presents ever, and I didn't get you guys anything. (Sighs) well I suppose the best I can do is this, have a VERY Merry Christmas Ink Potts and thank you for another FANTASTIC animatic, this was INCREDIBLE. Just thinking back over the parts here, we had greed and jealousy in the first part with the count's friends plotting his downfall, then we had hope that our two lovers would find a way back to each other, then despair and grief as the cold harsh reality as well as the schemes of our villain set in, then rage and anger as the count realises what his friends have done to him, and believes that even his love betrayed him, now here we have a mix of remorse, regret and a small sprinkle of hope on fluttershy's part that her love has at last come back to her. NOW taking all this into account, we have ONE part left to go before the end, what emotion are we going to end on, and WHO will be left standing? Well here's me looking forward to the final instalment of this animatic and wishing Ink Potts and all you Bronies out there, a Very Merry Christmas 🎄

I'm gonna say this and I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking this but there needs to be a full video fully animated but it's the whole musical with the mane 6 and everything. ;~; As someone who's so interested in this whole story and others also but the fact that the musical is barely shown, I will donate a lot of money to see this on here, to help out. To recap, we have three guys fucking over the main guy by letting him rot in jail for fake crimes while one of the guys tries to get jiggy with the main guy's girl. Main guy breaks outta prison buts is batshit insane so he plots his revenge. So he starts a ball or something and his girl is like 'oh shit, is that you?' And he's like 'i dont remember you' while he like sets his plan to action.

Hey so I just feel the need to inform you that like, years later, this video still has an impact on me. Like if i ever end up directing the stage show (you know, wont happen, but still) I'd do my best to transcribe the framing and actions youve used to the state. The literal dancing around each other combined with the metaphorical dancing around each other in the lyrics is still god tier, and the way they keep getting flashes of each other? And then when they come together and the music swells?????? Just???? ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so good.
That's because... Silhouette got seven hundred times better at drawing the expressions, the emotion, and the ponies themselves over their two-year break from this series. It's really a beautiful animatic - so much more detailed and precise than most.
The designs have most likely been adapted to fit the roles they are playing in the story. Quite simply, the Bourbon Restoration in France and its historical setting is fundamental to the story of the Count of Monte Cristo. For the era, and the story, you had to be an extremely rich man of trade or industry to hold power or vote, hence why he became the Count of Monte Cristo.

Dude... with as long as it took to get this animatic out since the last one they did, I'm sure they and everyone else will love you ALOT if you animated it (plus with as fast as comments are rolling it it might be awhile, if ever, before they get back to you with a confirmation). With a fandom like this imo its best and most efficate to get started just do it, it could be a while before they get to your comment if they do. Btw... I'm learning animation as a hobby. After so long, I admit I almost forgot about this channel; my only recurring thought that kept me connected was that I REALLY wanted to see what the new video would bring because the one before this was just so good. I can honestly say that it was so worth the wait. Let me start this off by saying that because of these animatics, I've begun to learn and listen to musicals, live theatre, and have even developed an interest in drawing these adorable ponies. This series means something to me on a personal level, and seeing it get better after every video just makes my heart swell with joy. Getting more specific about what makes this particular animatic so perfect for me is the fact that I really like the decision to make the character's look more masculine to fit with the singers; at least that's what I'm assuming. It's a neat detail, to say the least, and the characters are very attractive to look at aesthetically. I believe that film course served you both well because the direction in this animatic really made me feel the love and loss these two feel about and for each other. The dance scene especially had me aching for their pain. It's in the nuanced emotions you've managed to draw so well, and the tight edits that match perfectly with every beat. Everything worked together so well that I was genuinely taken for a spin (ey, pun intended) Speaking of drawing and nuanced emotion, the best example is in Edmond's/Rainbow's expressions; At 2:41, he looks at Shycedes/Fluttershy with frustration, longing, and pain. He very much misses her and wants to be with her again, but his predisposed conceptions lead him to believe she betrayed him; and although she clearly remembers him from her past, she believes he's dead; "Why does the truth seem too hard to be true?" AND AGAIN AT 2:24, he looks so tired from his mission, I just wanted to point that out; excellent drawing. Really, wow. I CANNOT stop looking at it. I just want to stare at each drawing of Edmond and Shycedes (especially Edmond), and really get hit by the dramatics of it all. This animatic is so well done, from the shine on the hair, and complex emotions portrayed so eloquently to the perfect sound editing and production that ties everything in a neat bow. WOW, this animatic is perfect. Completely perfect. Fantastic job!
I'm sure hundreds of people said this before me, but WOW, does the style look different! I like it of course, it's very thorough, it's just a little shocking. Then again, it IS technically much better, as should be expected after 2 years. Still, I almost thought for a second there someone else animated this.. but the editing is so lovely. I especially like how you make the dancing part feel like animation, not animatic. Brilliant work, respect, and congratulations - you deserve them :)
Looking back to this and honestly this is so much better than I remembered Every frame looks almost like a single full drawing The lines are so clean, even when they don't need to be The colors are so bright and colorful It has a lot of movement to be an animatic. They could've cut some scenes to take only 2 frames but decided to draw 4 or more Even thought the lightning and the shadows are the 'weakeast' part, all frames have a least some amount. Something not even some full drawings or animations have. It could make a little work here and there but knowing the previous part was mostly sketched and there is a whole jump of quality, I would say it's pretty impressive Sad that after this we never got to see a work like this anymore

Count Monsparkle is the best, not only does he reply to repetitive comments about the story of Monte Cristo, he also makes German translation videos for the animatics, synthesias and has uploaded the entire Monte Cristo musical on his channel for all to see (It's in german but he's added english subtitles), and all-round is an amazing person. (Now if only the animatic's Count Monsparkle could learn a thing or two from him XD )

I am in shock of how amazing this video has come out. I was practically screeching in excitement when I saw the video pop up and I am no way shape or form disappointed. This has truly come out amazing, it really shows the time and effort put into the project and definitely was worth the wait. Looking back from the very first Count Of Monte Cristo Animatic of yours all the way to this astonishing fifth you can very much see the improvement and development of two talented siblings. The art is breath taking, the music fitting and lovely and the outcome truly amazing.

I don't really care for MLP or anything like that, but after a 'Jekyll & Hyde' pony animatic I stumbled upon about a year ago, I always find myself clicking on videos like this and I'm rarely disappointed. The music choices and theatrics, even if I don't care for the art quality itself, always leave me satisfied and re-watching and more often than not, open the door to a new musical or sound to me.
To that extent, I find myself pleasantly surprised and appreciative of the tastes of the MLP fandom.
So I've never had this full-screened before on the thumbnail, so I never noticed that you can see Shycedes in Edmond Dashie's eyes. Gorgeous attention to detail on the THUMBNAIL! That's dedication!

In most movies that use this, it ends with the main couple coming together, such as in Tangled and Pocahontas 2; Journey to a New World. It is quite popular and is used well here.

You know, I now feel REALLY bad, cause this has to be one of the BEST Christmas presents ever, and I didn't get you guys anything. (Sighs) well I suppose the best I can do is this, have a VERY Merry Christmas Ink Potts and thank you for another FANTASTIC animatic, this was INCREDIBLE. Just thinking back over the parts here, we had greed and jealousy in the first part with the count's friends plotting his downfall, then we had hope that our two lovers would find a way back to each other, then despair and grief as the cold harsh reality as well as the schemes of our villain set in, then rage and anger as the count realises what his friends have done to him, and believes that even his love betrayed him, now here we have a mix of remorse, regret and a small sprinkle of hope on fluttershy's part that her love has at last come back to her. NOW taking all this into account, we have ONE part left to go before the end, what emotion are we going to end on, and WHO will be left standing? Well here's me looking forward to the final instalment of this animatic and wishing Ink Potts and all you Bronies out there, a Very Merry Christmas 🎄

Hey so I just feel the need to inform you that like, years later, this video still has an impact on me. Like if i ever end up directing the stage show (you know, wont happen, but still) I'd do my best to transcribe the framing and actions youve used to the state. The literal dancing around each other combined with the metaphorical dancing around each other in the lyrics is still god tier, and the way they keep getting flashes of each other? And then when they come together and the music swells?????? Just???? ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so good.

That's because... Silhouette got seven hundred times better at drawing the expressions, the emotion, and the ponies themselves over their two-year break from this series. It's really a beautiful animatic - so much more detailed and precise than most.

The designs have most likely been adapted to fit the roles they are playing in the story. Quite simply, the Bourbon Restoration in France and its historical setting is fundamental to the story of the Count of Monte Cristo. For the era, and the story, you had to be an extremely rich man of trade or industry to hold power or vote, hence why he became the Count of Monte Cristo.

After so long, I admit I almost forgot about this channel; my only recurring thought that kept me connected was that I REALLY wanted to see what the new video would bring because the one before this was just so good.
I can honestly say that it was so worth the wait.
Let me start this off by saying that because of these animatics, I've begun to learn and listen to musicals, live theatre, and have even developed an interest in drawing these adorable ponies. This series means something to me on a personal level, and seeing it get better after every video just makes my heart swell with joy.
Getting more specific about what makes this particular animatic so perfect for me is the fact that I really like the decision to make the character's look more masculine to fit with the singers; at least that's what I'm assuming. It's a neat detail, to say the least, and the characters are very attractive to look at aesthetically.
I believe that film course served you both well because the direction in this animatic really made me feel the love and loss these two feel about and for each other. The dance scene especially had me aching for their pain. It's in the nuanced emotions you've managed to draw so well, and the tight edits that match perfectly with every beat. Everything worked together so well that I was genuinely taken for a spin (ey, pun intended)
Speaking of drawing and nuanced emotion, the best example is in Edmond's/Rainbow's expressions; At 2:41, he looks at Shycedes/Fluttershy with frustration, longing, and pain. He very much misses her and wants to be with her again, but his predisposed conceptions lead him to believe she betrayed him; and although she clearly remembers him from her past, she believes he's dead; "Why does the truth seem too hard to be true?"
AND AGAIN AT 2:24, he looks so tired from his mission, I just wanted to point that out; excellent drawing. Really, wow. I CANNOT stop looking at it. I just want to stare at each drawing of Edmond and Shycedes (especially Edmond), and really get hit by the dramatics of it all. I am a huge fan of COMC and this was incredible. Exactly as I image this scene 💕
I'm sure hundreds of people said this before me, but WOW, does the style look different! I like it of course, it's very thorough, it's just a little shocking. Then again, it IS technically much better, as should be expected after 2 years.
Still, I almost thought for a second there someone else animated this.. but the editing is so lovely. I especially like how you make the dancing part feel like animation, not animatic. Brilliant work, respect, and congratulations - you deserve them :)

Looking back to this and honestly this is so much better than I remembered
Every frame looks almost like a single full drawing
The lines are so clean, even when they don't need to be
The colors are so bright and colorful
It has a lot of movement to be an animatic. They could've cut some scenes to take only 2 frames but decided to draw 4 or more
Even thought the lightning and the shadows are the 'weakeast' part, all frames have a least some amount. Something not even some full drawings or animations have.
It could make a little work here and there but knowing the previous part was mostly sketched and there is a whole jump of quality, I would say it's pretty impressive
Sad that after this we never got to see a work like this anymore

OMG when I first watched this I actually saw it from her perspective I am sitting here wondering if that is really him ? then I watched "the man I used to be" then I was like oh so that was him huh its cool because its sometimes it is annoying how when the trailers tell you so much and I barely know this movie so when I watched this I actually saw it from her perspective if you have not watched this musical please choose this one after these "hell to ur doorstep" "everyday a little death" and "ill be there" just reverse the order and you will see what I am talking about anyway its a beautiful animation thank you soo much Inkpotts !
