  • This isn't my best polishing job, and I almost didn't make this video. This one is by no means educational. I have other videos on the Rock Polishing playlist where I do a better job describing the process. Thank you for your patience as I'm learning a lot of new skills!

Wow. Like a fairy tail magical stone. FYI the polishing wheel which you are using is the best and safest for sure types of gemstones. The flat diamond wheel my shattered the stone that have many cracks

it really is a beautiful stone. I think that's exactly why I had so many issues with this one. I've done one before with a Dremel and it was more gentle so it cracked less and was overall a lot smoother.

@@thebroadhouse exactly 👍. I had several issues with semi-precious gems vs. Grinding/Polishing discs till I tried the one you use but with a perfect trick to take every scratch and make it diamond like mirror and shine. I'll till you my secret if you would like to try.

@@thebroadhouse siliciumcarbid in any form (discs or sandpaper ect..) you have my word that you will see a difference results. Cut a sandpaper circle and put it in the same disc that you are using in this video to make it reach every spot in the stone and say goodbye to any flat spots, scratches and other unwanted corners.

after you use the diamond bits to get your rock a good shape, use the sanding discs to polish. start with the lowest grit and work your way up. after the rock is finished I rub it with mineral oil and then let it dry for a day or so.
please also keep in mind this can be very dangerous to your health. a lot of rocks are not safe to work with without proper protection. Here are the masks I wear - www.lowes.com/pd/3M-2-Pack-Disposable-N95-Painting-Sanding-and-Fiberglass-Valved-Safety-Mask/5001916563
and I also use safety glasses to protect my eyes. before you begin a project, do an internet search and see exactly what you're working with so you know how much protection you need!
