Thanks for sharing. What grit did you use in the first pass? I didn’t notice the number for that one. Also part is the pad attatchment below the sanding paper? Does the included dremel sanding pad serve the same purpose? Thanks.
The first bit used is a diamond grinding drum. They are much tougher than sandpaper and we use them for shaping. Below the sandpaper is a Velcro attachment that came with the sandpaper discs. here's the link for those- www.amazon.com/dp/B07PTBH6Q9?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share and for the diamond drums we use- www.amazon.com/dp/B07S478P4V?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Thanks so much for all the info. Do you find the difference in the stone between 240grit and after going all the way up to 5000 to be a large difference in appearance? It’s hard to judge by the video because it already looks so nice after 240 I’m asking because I have up to 240grit which came with my dremel and debating if nescesary to get that kit you linked to, with the higher number grits and the soft sanding surface. And what does the polishing pads add to the outcome? Does it need to be used with a polishing substance?
@TzufFamilyBand Great question, and the answer is YES! a huge difference! even between 5,000 and 10,000. it may be hard to tell because the crystal was wet, but when it dries after 240 grit, you will be able to tell. I don't have any experience using the polishing pads or compounds but it's on my list of things to learn more about. I imagine it increases the depth of the shine. 🤔
thank you 😄 sanding discs from Amazon. it's also good to apply mineral oil after polishing (I use denim fabric to rub) and let it dry for a day before touching. it cleans the stone and makes it shinier 😁 here's the link for the sanding discs- www.amazon.com/dp/B07PTBH6Q9?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
@sB-wt7jy you can give a shot and see if anyone gets mad lol. Just be aware of the dust it's very dangerous to inhale. no problem! here's the diamond grinding drums we use for shaping- www.amazon.com/dp/B07S478P4V?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share and the sanding discs for polishing- www.amazon.com/dp/B07PTBH6Q9?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
absolutely stunning! great job on this video 💜💜💜
It sure did turn out really nice👍
Thank you 😁 I'm very happy with it.

Thanks. Do you use the one with the polishing pads too?
no but I think eventually we will. for now just the diamond drum and sanding discs and a little mineral oil at the end.
Thanks so much for all the info.

Shut the front door! Fluorite??? LOVE!!!
One of my favorites to polish! So soft and easy then it starts to shine beautifully ☺️
Turned out amazing!
thank you!!
Nice work! What speed do you use for the polishing function?

Have u done opalized flourite?
no but that sounds beautiful
Is using the dremel loud when polishing or grinding?
it's not too loud. but when I've used it for long periods of time without hearing protection it left my ears ringing for awhile.
@@thebroadhouse do you think I could use it at night in an apartment building without waking my neighbors I guess should've been the original question
@sB-wt7jy it depends on how well insulated your apartment is. if you can hear your neighbor's tv or hear them talking then a dremel might be too loud.
@@thebroadhouse ya I can't really ever hear much. Thanks for the information. Do you have a link to the pads you use?

How long did this take you start to finish?
around 4 hours of work
@@thebroadhouseawesome! What speed do you use?
@sB-wt7jy always low. anytime I try on high it wears my bits down too fast
