    Just recieved my Amazon box with the diamond bits & also sandpaper & drum you shared links to. Thank you. Do you use your drip system with the diamond bits & the sandpaper drum? I'm just so excited to start, also joined local Rock club & went on my first field trip. & Wow what fun & great specimens -Jasper & some small leaftype fossils. To much fun & beauty! Thank you for your videos.

      Hi, thank you so much! Yes I use the water drip with the diamond bits and the sanding discs. The bits and discs last longer because they're staying clean and cool. The rock stays cleaner, too! But the first 2 years or so of me polishing like this, I did not have a water drip system. Just frequent trips to a bucket of water 😅

      I think your work is nice! I've been doing woodworking the last couple of years then started to incorporate some of my rocks & minerals to my woodworking. I like it when you say your happy how it turns out. Cuz I like it also when my work turns out nice! Thank you again.✌️⛏️

So I'll let you know when & you can send me your link, would that be ok? Happy polishing to you. My field trip may be pushed to another date as weather getting cold & windy, may storm also.

      @thebroadhouse  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes! Red Jasper does very well in a tumbler. I know a spot where I can collect some, I'll try to get enough and make a video of the tumbling process! it'll take awhile so just keep an eye out for it 😁

    How many discs do you typically use at each grit? I figure it may take at least several?

    • @thebroadhouse
      @thebroadhouse  หลายเดือนก่อน

      For something with the size and hardness of this jasper, yes. Usually, it's just one disc per grit.

    Try bees wax insted you wont need to wait 24 hrs its done when you set it down

      I'm interested in trying that! Do you think using a piece of denim to apply it would be best, or do you know of something better?

    I have a honey calcite skull that's not shiny like the sphere I have. Can I polish it like you do in your videos? By the way that was so pretty when you finished it.

      thank you ☺️ sure you could! don't use the diamond drum just go straight to polishing with sanding discs and it will work great

    How did you know when to move on to the next grit?

    • @thebroadhouse
      @thebroadhouse  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      The way it looks and feels and the amount of dust it's producing. Once you start a new grit there will be a lot of dust but it reduces as the surface smooths.
