Your going to love that bike now. Driveline clutch transformed my banshee into an animal. Must do upgrade! I’m going to be looking into clutching for the yz250 I picked up this fall next

the more i watch these videos the more i want a banshee, i have a ltz400 now but a banshee looks/sounds so much more fun! and i dont have to worry about maintenance because almost everything is described in you video's
gompie250 thanks man, I appreciate you following the channel. Banshees are definitely a lot if fun but I do like 4 strokes too. The z400 is a great quad. If you can keep it and buy a banshee, I'd do that; Then you have the best of both worlds.

You can get a quick drain water pump cover so you dont have to pull the hose or the bolt on cly i dont have one yet but some day lol and idd say its a good time to check the impeller

I heard of people using ford f type automatic trans fluid but didn’t think you could use motor oil. Learn something new everyday. Just subbed. Keep up the videos. Good content!!

Question, could you please tell me what that last small hose was that you put on that is under the coolant cover? Mine doesn't have that hooked up so I was wondering what it was and does and if it is important or not? Btw great video! Thanks for your time my friend.

Can you put where you got that exact clutch and springs from? I might get a banshee and it slips like crazy
Brotha I have a question about tightening the bolts with the springs..I know they go to 7.2 lbs and I'm supposed to doit in a star formation but what I dont understand is do I snug the bolts till there snug and don't move and then go to 7.2 lbs or is it as I'm turning them and the pressure gets to 7.2lbs?
OK so I changed the fibers and springs and now after five minutes of riding the clutch adjustment arm under the driver side carb won’t spring back to where it should be Like I pull the cable and it pulls that arm but the arm does not spring back to where it supposed to originally set before you pull the lever would it be my free play adjustment I’m really stumped and not trying to take it to a shop
Where did you get those bolts to hold.your cover on? they seem better than the Philips head
I hope you alternated the metal plates. They are skinny on one side with an arrow. This is to help with balancing and clutch pull
This kit came with directions that specifically said to put the plates in all facing the same direction, so that's how I installed them. Seems to be working well.

Hi, In the event of changing the clutch, it is not necessary to place the ring plastic ?
Man I just bought a banshee and they say it has new clutches and the clutch cable is bad. My clutch handle has like no tension to it and won’t catch unless I get it just right. Clutches or cable?
I put clutch kit in my banshee and now there is no feeling or rebound in the lever please help!

I would really suggest getting a new basket or wear cushions those are a big factor too I needed to do that to my TRX450R so you don't have any play in your basket
Definitely man; I actually have a Chariot Billet clutch basket that I put in new with the last rebuild. The stock basket had grooves in the fingers and the bushings were toast!

Do you know If the clutch pretty much is the same on a 2001 Yamaha raptor 660? I mean the Way you put it on. I have a clutch at home and i am wondering how to put it in. Because this was a really great video👍🏻
And it sucks that the transmissions on the 01’s is garbage. The second gear just keeps going to neutral.

Yea man, that's a really common problem on 01' 660s. My first Raptor ever had that problem and I had to upgrade the transmission.
Changing the clutch on a 660 is pretty similar. You will have to remove a different set up in terms of the clutch cover, but the clutch is generally the same and it would go in the same way as well.

Just changed out the clutch on my 94. Your video was a great guide to get it done. Question I have is what torque wrench are you able to get to 8 pounds? I’ve looked and can’t find one.

The drain for the coolant is on the cylinder believe it or not lol
Theres one on each side of the cylinder above the back studs
I didn't think of that; I think you still have to drain from the hose though because it's lower that the cylinders. It's messy no matter how you do it lol.
i always pop the hose off too lol
I have a question my clutch cover doesn’t remove as easy as yours what could it be?
It may just be stuck from years of not being removed or the dowels may be rusty/cruddy. Probably just need some elbow grease and a deadblow hammer 🤘

Thank you man! I'm assuming you're referring to the ring cushions? It depends which kit you buy, some do not use them (like the one in this video) If you bought a kit that came with the cushions, then definitely put them in.

Yes, I run Amsoil Dirt Bike Oil 10w-50 in most of my machines right now.
What antifreeze do you use? And what oil did u end up putting in you case?

I just got my bottom end back together and bought a pancake bearing from a welded clutch ball. My question is, does the bearing go inside or outside the pressure plate. I can't find anything about installing it.
When I am unsure of the order of things, I look at the schematic on motosport or in a manual to see. Here's the clutch schematic from motosport, I hope this helps!

It goes on the inside of the pressure plate. Mike it doesn’t look like you have an actual pancake bearing in this video. That’s an oem adjuster.

nothing beats yamalube .people that get paid alot more then us( head engineers )at yamaha know this,so be rockheaded and use shell if it pleases you .BUT when you destroy a new engine under yamaha warranty,they might laugh at you for not useing yamalube,they tell you to use yamalube for a reason.
To each is own, I'm sure yamalube is great stuff. This engine is not new though, any kind of warranty has been expired for 27 years 😂
