I can't believe very few people fish the steps these days. It's good fishing, easy to get to, and it's free! Keep spreading the word about this beautiful river.
Absolutely Fabulous video 👍 such an enjoyable watch and boy What a brace of Perch, love your videos buddy keep them coming and I'll keep on watching them 👍
Hi kev, just found your channel by chance. Nice to hear that Nottingham accent lol. I used to fish the steps as a kid and had many great days there gudgeon bashing in the ‘70’s. Also had success hemping for roach. You’ve inspired me to get down there again on the feeder.
Well done kev 👏 got to say I really love big perch 1lb + and that big eel was something else.I know most of us big commercials these days but the trent used to be my fav river until early 90s when most of rivers went down the pan.Look forward to next vid pal.cheers.
30/06/24 - Inspired to visit this 'secret' venue. Stick float single maggot got me 3 to 4 oz roach, some very quick biting dace and, as per, a couple of donkey perch, biggest was over 2 1/2lb. What and absolute beast and ALL the fish were in pristene condition. Had a monster take me out into the center of the river but not much chance of stopping it on size 18 with 3.3lb hooklength. It stayed low in the water so poss a barbel (the 1 that got away story 😉). Tried bolo deep on a 17' Crackolyte - got setup working perfectly, 3g olivette etc. 2nd fish in and the rod lived upto it's nickname and failed just above the butt ferrule on the middle section. Gutted!! Waiting on manuf. and vendor for a decision. 😭
Hi Kev. Great fish and love the channel. Can't work out where abouts you were fishing because if you were downstream from trent bridge wouldn't you be able to see forest ground opposite?
Watching this Nov 1 st in completely different conditions high winds and torrential rain. As you were playing the eel the buzzer sounded and I had a nice 5lb chub. Still can’t find the roach. Never mind I’m staying all night so finger crossed. Cracking perch Kev well done.
How deep do you reckon I found the average depth on the middle trent is 16ft deepest I know is 28ft. But I more upstream than you. Not fished the embankment for years. Used to have junior matches opposite side years ago
Hi Paul, yes, there are deeper areas. I am not suggesting this part of the embankment is the deepest on the Trent, but for free fishing and accessibility this is pretty good. Always on the look out for more locations, where are you referring to? Thank you for watching👍🎣👏

Oh the other name for that fish was a Bullhead, brain is just waking up, big Eel, really nice angles too, all the best.

Hello Neil, hope you got on all right, the rivers are calling, all the best.

My favourite time of year from now on.
All the cold rain has slowed the fishing down
