    Great Video Kev, I fish in that same spot fairly often and there are usually at least a few anglers about. Must have been a quiet day. I'm still brand new to all this so I never catch anything myself, but it's very encouraging to watch what someone with a bit of experience can do! Nice catch, and thanks for the tips.

    Kev, try pearl barley. Put in a saucepan just cover with water and a big spoon of turmeric, bring to the boil and turn off the heat and leave to cool. Works great in Norfolk on the drains and rivers.

    Nice video. No varying depth? Do they not come up?

    • @nottsfishingkbtv402
      @nottsfishingkbtv402  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, With the clear water they generally stay low but can come up on warm days. I alter my depth according to reading bites. Missed bites or bumping can be a sign to alter the rig shallower. With trotting you can hold back the float and this brings the bait up,, lift, hold, pause and then drop can be deadly if they are moving between layers. Thanks for watching James, best wishes.

    I have been fishing Wheat with Hemp for about 4 years now on the Trent ( Burton Joyce, Stoke Bardolph, Shelford and the Viaducts. The results have been amazing with double figure nets of quality Roach during most sessions. I guarantee, Wheat will out fish Tares every time and you won't wait long for the fish to start having it. Give it a go next season, you won't look back!

    Plus side - I'm inspired to have a go with tares having watched you catching 'dog' roach.
    Minus side - you cost me a fortune in kit I didn't have 💸💸💸
    I'm a few miles further south of you and I used to catch em in the Soar. Corn hair rigged on a bomb over hemp. I was trying to catch the dustbin lids one time but the roach kept smashing the corn, leaving just the skins. Worked out in the end how to hook em. Wait for the rod to start tapping - then drop the rod back a split second and strike. Crafty buggers were hanging back picking the bits off that came loose - as I slackened they would take it and the hook with confidence.
    Had a walk on Victoria Embankment on Wednesday 25th afternoon in the lovely autumn sunshine. Trent was still 'b*****king through and was icy cold but you could see where it had been up to. The council lads were clearing up debris that had wrapped around the seats. I apologise for the rafts of American Pennywort coming down from the Soar. It must stretch from Enderby Leics. right to the Humber now?

    What a fabulous morning's fishing catching quality roach.. shame you at to pack up when you did.. because if it had been me and continued catching I would of stayed until I couldn't see the float.. love my roach fishing my two biggest have been 2lb-7 and 2lb -11..but the is a place I know on the river tame Tamworth area but much further down stream but not saying where on here..but in the summer it's a waste of time but come the first real hard cold frosty days arrive so do the roach in their thousands and so do the chub..but when people say fish tend to go to deeper water in the winter is a myth because I catch the roach nothing close to a pound but they are probably there..and I used to fish the stick float but changed to a six metre whip alot quicker and the roach are in less than two feet of water believe it or not..and I did count the first hour the one and I had 94 roach but stopped counting after that would love to tell you exactly where it is but not on here.. don't know if the is any other way I can contact you.. just let me know if the is and I will tell you.. sorry for the long message 👍
