    Dude I just want to say I appreciate the level of detail you go into with certain things when explaining the how and why, and why this stuff is important. I subscribed to your channel a while back when I decided I wanted to get into photography. I initially was going to get a Cannon but was swayed by a good friend to go with a Fuji X-T3, and I will remain with this Fuji for a while because I really like it, but I still get a lot out of listening to you talk about photography in general. Your presentation of information is really well done. Cheers!

    Hi Mark, I hope you are doing well, I´m a follower of your channel, I find the tips and tutorials posted by you very useful. I frequently see your videos looking improve my knowledge related with photography, I started to studying photography since a couple of months. I'm wondering if you can help me with the following, I´m learning how to use a Canon M50mkii camera, it´s my first camera of the brand, the issue is that I would like the camera stops looking continuously what to focus. For example, when the camera is turned on, even if I am not manipulating it, the camera looks what to focus. I know that I can choose the manual focus option, but I don't know if there is another way to solve this. For example, I have an Olympus camera and it doesn´t start the focusing process unless I half-press the shutter button. Conversely, as soon as I turn on the Canon, the camera starts to AF continuously which I find quite annoying using lenses with noisy focusing motors as the EFs 55 250 I have using the proper adapter. Thank you in advance for taking a few minutes to answer, Regards, Orlando.

    • @markwiemels
      @markwiemels  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I shoot on a number of cameras, the M50 videos are 1080p, the 4k isn’t all that usable. I would also look at the canon M6 Mark II and the Sony zv-e10, I would recommend them over the M50 for video.

    Great demonstration! Have you done a video about when it’s relevant to have a light with variable color temperature? I can easily find theoretical articles on the topic, but still need to understand the practicalities and real world
    applications. I’m asking because I have to decide on a light and therefore have the choice between a daylight balances or a bicolor light. I’m considering the Godox ML60 because I would like something handy and semi-portable, so I can shoot in the dark
    garage as well as in my kitchen where natural light gets in from all over the place.

    • @markwiemels
      @markwiemels  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can make either work, but the bi-color will be better, and look better at times, when you are mixing natural light. I don't have a video on this.

    Mark what kind of focus settings are you using - auto focus or just setting the distance correct that you are always in focus? My inferior M3 seams like it is
    always bouncing around in Auto. Not a huge issue as I don't do video but I was just wondering?

    • @markwiemels
      @markwiemels  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I use AutoFocus. I have used the M3 in the past, autofocus wasn't as good, but generally works well if it can lock onto a face with the face detect autofocus.

    Hi, Should the canon 80D ISO and lighting settings in general be similar to the M50? I'm trying to figure this thing out. I did this video but I'm not happy with the results: th-cam.com/video/WXWEfhSPz4E/w-d-xo.html I use a EFS 10-18mm lens, one small LED video light about 6ft away from me and the room's recess led lights on. I usually shoot my videos outside but occasionally I do some vids indoor.

    • @markwiemels
      @markwiemels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the 80d and the M50 have the same sensor, so settings should be the same.

    I shoot videos with a cannon m50 mark II. I want to shoot video with 2 cameras for multiple angles. Is it important that I get another m50 mark II, so that the video looks consistent? Or could I up grade to a better video camera to pair and and the look consistent?
