Love the review… I see that they even offer “returned” items at a great price… I will have to keep my eyes out… their products are stunning. Thanks again for such a great detailed review!!!
For the $600, you get quality wheels, hand crafted secured grab handles, security features: no zippers = no pen opening your bag! It's not a luxury if it's functional, well used, and brings you joy! I ❤️ that you addressed being prepared if your bag gets checked! I use admin panels for tech, and having a packable bag will come in handy for a quick shift. I prefer to travel lighter. Almost 5 lbs/4.3 Kg is the true cost.
My husband has this bag, and he absolutely loves it. It's even more beautiful in person! I want to know about the pistachio colored Level8 behind you!! That bag looks gorgeous!
You are excellent with your presentation. My question is do to recommend to purchase this carry on pro directly from the manufacturer? I did find the same bag from MATCHES and HUCKLEBERRY online. Do you recommend either one of these companies? Thank you for your help.
I am not familiar with MATCHES or HUCKLEBERRY online. I usually get my items direct but as long as it doesn't interfere with warranties, I don't see why not.
Thank you for another great review! That suitcase is very beautiful and eye catching!! Now obsessed with all things trunk luggage! I have one full aluminum from Away Luggage and one hybrid truck piece from Level Eight luggage! I believe I will start saving now to get myself one of these Carl Friedrik pieces!! I had never heard of this brand until I saw it sitting on your shelf and you told me the name! What a find!
Great review! I've been looking at luggage and have contacted Carl Friedrik with a few questions (which they have promptly and professionally responded to). Still, your review has been the deciding factor and I am comfortable enough to make my purchase.
Found a retailer in London that’s willing to give me a discount on it but really cannot justify paying 3X over a Level8 and Aerotrunk that I have for comparison. If I have to show up at clients’ from airport probably but if just flying for leisure, even in premium seats, the Level8 won’t be embarrassing
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I'm pretty much convinced, travelling almost every month for work on 3-4 day-trips, this one seems to full-full every needs, from functionality all the way to the looks of it. I was just curious if anyone know the dimensions of the handle? As my current briefcase has a tight slip-through back panel. Would be nice if someone can share it. Thanks!!!
I think this amazing for the people who can afford luxury bags but I don’t know if I (a person with a regular income) could justify spending that much more money when there are cheaper bags with lifetime warranties. That being said I love you exposing us to fancy stuff 😂
I hear where you are coming from, fully. I used to be a TravelPro person for many years. Great quality and the warranty wasn’t bad but wasn’t great. That being said, I use “luxury luggage” for my everyday travel. My carry on is well over $700, my check back is well over $1200. I share that information for the price point compared to the luggage shown in the review. The quality is better, the function is better, and the biggest different…the warranty. It’s so easy to take my luggage to any store in the world and they will fix it or I’ll walk out with a brand new piece. Even areas without a store (which is frequently) I can send it to a location overnight and the same process happens. So the longest I’m without my luggage is three days. They pay for shipping. No questions asked, no forms…They look at it, repair it or send me on my way with a new “comprable” piece. That’s what my money pays for and that level of service and connivence is worth it to me. For reference I’m on a plane a few times a week. Would I recommend this kind of luggage for the once a year traveler, most likely not. YMMV as always.
It is a beautiful travel suitcase for sure. Having said that, regardless of the price (I cannot afford anyway) I do not want anything that supposedly would last me a lifetime! I get tired of things eventually and like to switch off luggage since new ones are always coming out on the market with various upgrades. Thank you for your review.
Sometimes it helps to view things through a “cost per use” lens. A $1k phone if a lofty price tag gets used 30-50 times per day for several years. If you fly a lot, say for work, and your luggage is more durable, has better features, and is more enjoyable to use, these things sometimes make sense. If you have to sacrifice more important areas like the quality of your trip or your child not playing a season of soccer to get the bag, then go less expensive.
I love my Monos. I wish they had compression on both sides. I like to pack my clothes upright/ Marie Kondo style, so the Monos packing cubes are almost perfect- they have the structure I like, but are just a bit too tall for the luggage if I don't compress them down. I will have to check out the dimensions on these packing cubes.
Amazing review, thank you! What I miss in the review: - How wheels and handle is (roll it on the street?) and how would you compare/rank it, perhaps have a table vs other bags (similar price?). - To the same table I would add empty weight and packing space. No doubt it's a great bag (at that price), but so is Tumi, BR, Rimowa, etc I guess?
I have never had the opportunity to review Tumi, BR, Or Rimowa, as those bigger companies don’t respond to me, unfortunately. I always do a ranking every year, with tables like you mentioned, but again, this is the most expensive bag I own. I will throw it into a pro bag showdown or a trunk showdown eventually.
I love your reviews, they are so thorough. Have your reviewed the Heys Carry-on luggage? I scrolled through your videos but didn't see one. I would be interested to hear your thoughts.
I reviewed the heys airlite here. I, also, reviewed their earth tone collection as well .be/DdnmiJo_ycA I think it’s really good luggage at a good prices
@ItsTheKellys Thank you for responding so quickly. I was looking at the Heys Luxe 21 inch carry-on. It has a metallic finish and wondered how it would hold up.
I have reviewed 2 different heys bags and have 2 more reviews coming. I haven’t reviewed the luxe though. They are wonderful bags and great sizes and I’ve even traveled with them a lot. I have several videos about them. You can just Google it’s the Kellys Heys and it will all come up!
Outstanding review as always. I’ve always been really interested in this luggage brand and I’m REALLY impressed with the quality. It certainly looks great, but I’m not sure I’d want this to be my EDC luggage for my very standard travel. If I flew private or traveled where I knew I’d personally have full control of my luggage I’d might go for this. Granted, I throw around my Tumi luggage everywhere and don’t give a shi*…so YMMV as with all things. I always appreciate the shoe test.
What's the name of the bag that is next to her head on the right side of the screen? It's the one that is all black, zipper less with the gold trim. That looks so pretty. I hope there was a review for it. :)
I can see this luggage lasting a long long time. And in full black looks amazing. The only thing I cannot seemed to understand is, why not the TSA lock for the front compartment?! Is Level 8 the only company doing that? Also, not necessary, but it would be cool if it had a charger. Now, maybe that would make it look too modern, and they seem to not be trying to go that way, more than stylish and premium way. A good investment if you travel very often, probably for business if you want to keep a professional appearance even at the airport, and want your luggage to last you a while.
For "luxury" brands I like Briggs and Riley. They are really pricey. I got lucky and got my two on sale which is not something they do often. I also have a rolling garment bag I got back in the late 90's it was a gift and 50% off and its still in great shape. While it might last a lifetime technology and features evolve and I would never use it because it's heavy, only has two wheels and clips closed. For the time cutting edge 25 years later not so much. I totally get the buy it once have it forever mindset but with luggage evolving you might not want it forever. I am actually anxiously awaiting the arrival a Heys carryon I bought after watching your video, it's supposed to be coming today.
@@ItsTheKellys I have a luggage problem and I was at Nordstrom Rack and they had a Tumi for over half off. I bought it in a shopping frenzy got it home and tried it and I didn't like it. Briggs and Riley also has a lifetime warranty I have yet to come across a brand with a warranty to match it. My Heys came yeah! On sight I really like it, better than the Tumi. I'll practice pack it this weekend and will use it for a trip in March.
Unfortunately I don’t get to travel enough to justify spending that much money on a suitcase that I don’t find good looking. I’ll stick with my Level8.
It's a nice bag, great warranty but I'm not understanding why the price is so high. You have reviewed other carryons where the front pocket opens with a button latch which I feel is much better than ziopers so I would think that this much higher priced piece would also have that. Great indepth review, thanks very much Lauren 👍🏻

The collapsible carryon is a little smaller than I thought it would be🤔so I haven’t tried it yet. I do like the fact it collapsible 🥰. U do such a good job on reviewing new products 🥰🥰
