But if so, what keeps bidders from just slapping an incredulous amount to win an auction? For example, if i really want a 2000 yen item, can't i just snipe it for 100,000 and then if no one dares to outbid me, just pay, say 6,500, which is perhaps one increment from the last bidder who placed 6,000? It's something I've been trying to figure out but don't dare try!
Well, I have been using snipe bid a lot and I don’t usually put a high price I can’t pay. I guess it rly is up to the person how desperate he/she is to get the item. I like snipe bids as I have a rough idea how much people are spending and can just adjust it if I still can afford it unlike eBay.

hello! update, i did. end up winning the auction! but went wayy higher than i intended to 🥲 that automatic extension thing really is a pain because every time i would put a bid, the person bidding against me would put in a bid last minute and make me have to wait 5 minutes all over again 🥲🥲 something i noticed is that when you put in a bid, yahoo japan doesn’t automatically put that as the bidding price. in the end, the “winning bid” that i put wasn’t the final price. it was the second highest bid plus 500 yen.
So lets say the bid is 3000. I sniped bid at 4000, but there's another person who snipe bid at 3500. So at the end of the auction I would be paying 3600 not 4000 correct?

Seamail starts at 1,800 yen about 18$ and they have a new shipping method called buyee air which is express shipping starts at around 20$ even though you got a small items it'll still be around 18$ minimum because of covid and shipping minimums Before covid there were more options for smaller items that were very cheap like 6-8$ but they are suspended due to covid 😭

when you outbid in the last 5 mins, buyee again takes money from you on top of your initial bid. therefore you need a huge credit limit from your credit card or enough money from paypal else you get an funding error and the "ghost" charges will not return to your account. happened to me. only thing that resolved the issue was raise a dispute claim on paypal.
That's never happened to me I'm sorry you experienced that it was probably a bug? They have a discord where you can talk to staff they probably would have helped sort that out for you!

So, I am the first one to bid at 17500Yen (because for the first bidder you dont need to increase bid and can just bid for the opening price). However, few minutes later I bid again - I am the second bidder as well, I just increasemy previous bid) - my new bid is at 18000Yen. HOWEVER, when I refresh the page, it said that the current price is still at 17500Yen?? shouldn't it be 18000Yen??

Hello! Sorry for the delay in response 1: Buyee buys the item for you and provides the Buyee Warehouse address to the seller no action from you needed. 2: No not yet right now buyee offers SAL (sea mail) EMS, and a new one "buyee air" which is a combo of fedex and DHL
coupons usually tell you exactly what you can use them for on the coupons page! most common is shipping coupons for mercari purchases its very rare they give out auction coupons

try and see my experience is 4000 will be deducted from your paypal but the seller will only get 3600.

Hm I haven't ran into that it most likely means the seller has a low rating and it's a warning you may not get the item or it may be bootleg

It just means there will be no extra cost for tax! That 8,000 is the price you'll pay if you buy/win the item! Before shipping of course

Should be 1 yen, if it's anything like ebay. It will bid up to a max of 1000 for you if someone else ends up bidding that high.

It should be 3,100
buyee will charge you 5,000 and 3,100 goes to the seller

Hello, not sure what you mean? Buyee air is usually Fedex or DHL they should deliver the package right to your address.

Buyee probably caught that you "outbid yourself" and canceled the second bid.
check your bank balance you will get double charges already despite the fact they cancelled your second bidding

Have you tried buying more than one item from the same seller? and like the buyer would ship it everything at once?
Yes! Usually the buyer will ship it together but some will do them separately but you can always combine packages once buyee receives them
