THE POWER OF DIY LURE RETRIEVERS
Siepker begins by demonstrating how his homemade plug knocker efficiently recovers treble hook baits from brush piles. The design is straightforward: a modified paper clip integrated into a lead mold provides the necessary weight to dislodge lures from snags.
STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE TO MAKING YOUR LURE RETRIEVER
Siepker details his process, showing viewers how to bend the paper clip and integrate it into a lead mold, typically used for sinkers. He explains that the shape of the weight can vary; even square or rectangular forms can function effectively. By adding weight at the head of the retriever, the device tilts upon contact with a snag, leveraging the lure free with minimal effort.
    VERSATILITY AND SAVINGS
This DIY approach is not only practical but also economical. Making a pile of these lure retrievers is a fast and easy way to eliminate costly restocking efforts. This method is handy for those who face frequent snags due to their fishing environment. Wrapping up, Siepker encourages anglers to create their own lure retrievers, especially during the off-season.

Easier just to use an old spark plug and a snap swivel. Bend the electrode down over where you’d normally tie your line to the swivel. Then open the snap on the swivel and attach it to your line. Been doing that since I was a kid in middle school and I’m in my 60s. Old trick my dad showed me. You can also take a big bell sinker and clip it on your line with a snap. Just clip the weight on as your clipping it to your line. Or you can connect the bell sinker to the snap with a split ring. With some types of snaps even a split ring wouldn’t be necessary.

There is a scuba diver holding the lure underwater. He releases as soon as he sees the lead weight 😂

Just put a heavy paperclip through a egg sinker about 1/4" and bend the end to retain and a little JB weld other end where the 'hook' is.

I never liked this method. Seems like you just introduced more lead into our water.

Why you have so many in the bag?! They are not working a lot of times, and you keep loosing a bait and a sinker?
