  • After more than four years stuck on the hard, Monastrell is very close to going back in the water😎🥳
I can now see the the light at the end of what has felt like a very long and dark tunnel!!
In this video her mast goes back up, and she looks great!
It's been a lesson in perseverance, and man I've certainly been tested in that regard over this more than 4 years, and still am in some ways! At times it's felt like I've been stuck in the twilight zone🤪
Now that the keel and mast are back on I can feel my mojo coming back🥳
Rigging and mast install were carried out by Chris Monderoy of Cjs Rigging Co. Peake boat yard, Chaguaramas, Trinidad.
It still has to be adjusted on the water and sea trialled, but looks like a great job done!

Great job with the keel, not enough people pay attention to this joint.

Thanks for the positive feedback Mike🙏🏻😊
I agree, and I've seen some pretty dodgy things during my extended stay on the hard, in this boat yard!
Fortunately overall it appears, from my observations, to be a minority of boats, but still disturbing that some people will use boats with obvious defects below the water line, but most disturbing when its an obvious keel issue😱

why would you not just take the shrink wrap off before stepping

Good question👍 because it provides great weather protection, and the deck area acts as a bit of a outdoor storage area and workshop while preparing the the boat😊

@@bruce3077 Are you planning on launching her soon? If not why did you step the mast? Just curious. Thanks for responding!
