Beautiful collection. I love the CC coins and the $5.00 gold coin. Naturally, way outta my price range. Good luck with them and I usually say God Bless you; but it's obvious He already has.
I dunno, but it seems strange to me you would go to a garage sale and some dude (who no doubt has coins he knows the value of) is just going to dump them. These videos feel like a glorified way of bypassing eBay and doing it under the guise of 'Hey, check out what I found!'.
I have to believe that if this sort of stuff continues on YT, they will shut down such practices (if it isn't already against their TOS).

The PCGS toned dollars look nothing like the website photos of the dollars. It s a fake grade. This guy may be or may not be guilty, the gui who sold it may or may not be guilty, but the pictures on the NCGS website do not match.
Yep... And with that being said id have to question the entire lot. Especially the raw C.C... One of the most faked coins around.
Could be fishy. I've heard stories of counterfeit coins and fake slabs. I also heard that Morgans are one of the most counterfeited rare coins.

Good Score !!. As of 11/01/2020 I would appraise this entire collection for a cash value of $5,700. Try buying these individually though!!. Individually you would likely pay well over $8,500 for this entire set you see in this video. These are very desirable older PCGS + NGC slabs which are known to be under graded in some instances. There are two coins which I think is the case those being your 1880-CC PCGS MS64PL which has since likely been cracked out and resubmitted + also your 1891-S PCGS MS64 which may have also been cracked out and resubmitted. Your ungraded 1889-CC Morgan is probably AU Details thus being in the air tight container is still pretty valuable, a $500+ coin all day long. The other items 2 American Buffalo Commemorative's + American Buffalo Coin + Currency Set, not much there maybe $75 bucks each. Video is 5 years old so I would say if you paid less than $4,500 in 2015 you done well.

1889 CC at VG is worth $575; 1892 CC MS 63 is now worth $2,275.

Hi, there I'm just wondering if you know for sure that all your Morgans are real? I just learned the hard way that there are some very good fakes out there! with no way to weight or mic the coins how are you able to tell?

Thank you for not trying to say you got a deal of a lifetime and paid just over melt for all that. I think any collector realizes that all those cc and mint state morgans are going to cost a lot of money.

Im telling u i've watched this many times over the last couple years and slow motioned the footage & the reverse on that cc unslabbed coin does not match up correctly! Its not opposite upsidedown, it is off center & that means its a fake coin. All the little haters, wanting to know it all, keep speaking their opinion on it, so can u make a video on this concept if u still have the coin?
Hi Harris, unfortunately I do not have the coin anymore. I do not believe it was fake and I actually sold it to a dealer at a coin show in New York. It's always possible that it was a really good fake. If it was, it fooled me and a long time dealer. I'll take a look at the footage again. Who knows?!

The whole point is what the price was, we can all buy these on Apmex on any given day if you got the money, so not telling is disappointing yeah. The seller obviously knew what he had as he wrote down the VAN info or whatknot on the 78 CC in the beginning so doubt he sold it for a song
I don't remember the exact amount, but I paid like 75-80% of the retail value

The rims of the 1889-CC look strange. I would weigh it. It's not encapsulated which sends up a flag. Nice collection!

I never figured why some people will pay extra for toning on a coin. To each is own, It is just not my cup of tea.

At $100 each on the slabbed Morgans... $2500 minimum. Many of those are in the $300 to $600 range. As a packaged deal I'd guess he cut you a deal at $3500-$4000.
I am new to collecting. Could you explain to me how the 1900S is MS 63? Does discoloration not affect a grade?
+CollideAhYom *Toning* is actually desirable to some collectors..The *patina* results from the exposure of the coin to Sulfides in the atmosphere. It is not due to circulation or wear.
It may affect overall attractiveness. But it does not affect grade.
On the other hand bag marks and abrasions from coins coming into contact with other coins, nicking other coins, negatively affect grade.

Nice pickups. That last morgan, the 1889 CC... Something with that coin looks strange to me. You might want to check the authenticity on that one.

Hey u have a great eye! Look as he flips the coin over! The front isn't exact opposite but upside down. It's supposed to be exact opposite upside down & that coin the degree isn't a perfect 180deg. It is tilted like 30 deg. When he flips it her head is supposed to be looking straight forward but instead she is tilted down. An absolute fake!!!!!

Greg, you're obviously clueless in the NGC/PCGS certified coin world... Every one of those coins in the video are in a legit certified slab/case. How can you tell? You can take the number just over the barcode and enter into PCGS's web site authenticator and guess what, they check out as exactly what you see in this video. Wise up!

the Führer ms64 are very common, ms65 and above are the ones that hold the most value
If I had $3000, I would totally get that 1889-CC.
It is not worth $3000 in that grade. The 1892 CC in mint state is worth more than a low grade 1889-CC.

Whats the point no one ever does anything but hand them down. Just like silver now, everyones into buying silver. You pay $7 over spot so your already lost $7dolloars. It needs to grow in value to get spot back plus more.

I watched the video & read all comments & NOBODY NOTICED the last cc coin is fake! Buddy u should know, the front of the coin is supposed to be exactly upside down from the back. It's supposed to be exact opposite of each other. & that coin the degree isn't perfectly upside down from the front, It is tilted like 30 deg. when u flip it over. her head is supposed to be looking straight forward but instead she is tilted down. An absolute fake!! But u should know this if u deal with coins often.
If you look where his thumb is both times he flips the coin over, you will notice the coin is aligned correctly. He never does a 180 degree rotation on the vertical axis. Sorry, but you’re wrong.
@@aangelcg well I won't waste my time going back over a decision I've already made & watch it again but if I'm wrong then I'm glad because I would hate for him to have acquired a fake Morgan. So by me being OK with the fact that I can sometimes make mistakes, then I'm happy about that one. Follow me?

For anyone questioning this, go to 4:26 and set the speed to ¼. The point where his thumb touches the bottom of the reverse becomes exactly the top of the obverse when flipped.
