- I get to try the Guardian GT big-arm robot, which is like a real-life Power Loader from Aliens. It's controlled by a human and has incredible precision, but it's also incredibly strong. Made by Sarcos Robotics, the GT can be used in situations that are too dangerous for humans to enter, like decommissioning nuclear power plants.

Thanks for watching! If you have a question about the robot I didn't answer, let me know 🤖
How will it hold up against a Xenomorph 👾?
I couldn't tell if Ben Wolff was incredibly short or you were very tall ; ) Great report though!
@@michealbay1290 Next video is the Aliens re-enactment!
@@AaronTaylorEditor LOL it's definitely me who is the giant
A valid question: did the controllers have any haptic feedback? How can one do delicate things like cutting something without some feedback to know if there’s been a change in the material or density etc?
Might be cool to be able to use an exoskeleton, but appreciate that our very own bodies themselves are by far still the most marvellous body of control developed by nature, including other living things
Doctor Octopus Cosplay, here I come!
That’s a really interesting job you have great stuff
Subbed and liked 👍
Future is going to be awesome!
I need to use this thing next time someone challenges me to an arm wrestle.
The proper name for this type of remote operated robot is a Waldo. A exoskeleton is a robot you are inside of (wear) and operate from inside.
0:58 Breaking into safe's by bank robbers
6:42 this new version of Doc Oc, I could grow to like.
Ave Mechanica?
I think every fire Department should get at least 2
The cut scenes are maddening. Stop Cutting the scenes. I want to see the robot perform the tasks.
I want one
woah future is now
Yeager!
Way to channel your inner Ellen Ripley. Just saw the post about channeling your inner power loader from Aliens. Just think it might be easier to channel a human than a mechanism.
Robot on diesel. It's so steampunk!
This is no steampunk! It's dieselpunk damn it! LoL.🤣🤣
Soooo, when will we get shadow boxing robots? :3
The birth of giant robots starts here.
We're on the cusp. Scale it down, figure out a mobile power source, add wi-fi and blu tooth capabilities and we're on our way to mars.
I'm sooo jealous
"invincible!" Careful, you might have the making of a supervillain
Bryant Mitchell mwahaha! Channeling Boris from GoldenEye!
Next: Gundam controller
Lots of cynics of future development, you will all be the left behind like the doubters of old
Looks like johnny five and wall e's big brother / body guard
Lexy ❤️❤️
Automation doesn't not replace human. It empowers human. Machine powered human worker replaces human powered human worker.
Depends on which human 😁
Need spider legs---how is it going to go over big debris?
0:26 Confirmed Heretic.
My dream is a nightmare...

can be used to lift concrete in earthquakes.
Lenne egy saját ami felvehető vagy beülhető és még sétál is , elválallni minden nehéz fizikai munkát , hatalams sikere lenne meg lehetne keresni vele rendesen.
Well this is what i need... Hehehe
This was already attempted. Japan tried to use robots to handle radioactive waste after the Fukushima nuclear disaster (as Mr. Wolff suggests at 01:05 in the video). However, the intense radioactivity actually destroyed the electronic components of the robots rather quickly, making the robots useless after a short amount of time. So, unless the Sarcos robots can tolerate high levels of radiation, they might not be so effective at that particular task.
Wanna arm wrestle?

@7:09 yes you are! 🤣🤣🤣🤦🏾♂️🤣🤣
editor found the lowest quality shot from aliens i've ever seen!
Cool,, I hope one day computer take over world ;) xD
Who are here after watching this in you have been warned
Movies: Human sized robot can lift 2 double decker buses above it's head like nothing and throw a fully laden car sky high
Real life: Enormous robot with gigantic arms has a strength limit of 500 pounds, which is really strong but nowhere near movie levels
What happened to Hollywood?
You can with powerful enough hydraulics, basically like one of those massive excavators for mining, but they aren't fast enough to throw something very far.
that's the stupidest interface, they could've set it up like a mimicking glove instead of unintuitive joysticks that all in reverse
They're the experts making it so don't be so quick to.judge
Mr BlueSwede i don’t really defer to so called “experts” they’re just prideful fools just like everyone else 😑
@@Big_Black_Dick okay but they have degrees in the field and the experience of working with exoskeletons for years and in the budget they have, so drop them an email and see if they hire you for your excellent engineering and coding skills that can somehow make a mimicking glove style for an exoskeleton
@@Big_Black_Dick Hope you avoid doctors too.
