The panaramic view distances on some stages are something they really seemed to nail with this that other games dont seem to do so well. On a clear day, you might be able to see for miles and miles. It really looks like a real world location vs a game world.
I completely agree, AaronHendu. The panoramic views in WRC 23 are truly breathtaking and add so much to the immersion. It's one of the aspects that makes this game stand out from others. It feels like you're driving in a real location, not just a virtual track.
These views make driving on stages,where is the potential of having a big drop when you overshoot the track, very atmospheric and you really have to fight that fear to not to release the throttle too much
@@ProjectSimRacing I realized it's a whole new level when I switched from CSW 2.5 to Clubsport DD+. It's like upgrading from a Lada to a BMW! 😄 It's awesome.
Now imagine racing that Quattro, but it was mid engine instead of front engine. This was an actual idea and project that was sadly shut down. Highly recommend trying Art of Rally if you ever get the chance. Love the content! Keep it up!

We need multiplayer events in a rally game where you can spectate like IRL...like, be able to walk around certain areas, like a lobby, but at the side of the track like spectators. I think that could be fun in a rally game. Like a rally event where you have a scheduled time slot, and in off time can look after your car and spectate, walk over to leader board displays and stuff lile that. Could have different missions and jobs to kill time, like race photographers, some type of mechanic sim or management. Watxhing and analyzing competitor replays, co driver stage learning activities, etc. Real human co drivers. Live announcing. Motivate participation through some sort of reward system, like bespoke parts or money, sponsors, even cars. Could have pit bikes and stuff in certain areas. All the aesthetic stuff that goes with creating a driver that isnt always in a full race suit. There is so much more to racing than the car and the driver i would love to see in racing games, and I think rally would be a great place to start integrating some stuff like this.

For this particular car, I believe I used a FOV of 50, but keep in mind I adjust this for every car, since WRC still lacks proper triple screen support. As for audio, I haven't made any specific adjustments - just using the default settings. Keep watching for more videos!🙂✌️

For people who used to say "too much grip" :) Nice drive! I was shocked for the few hours and i really did hate the game on the first day Then as i spent another day to set different settings, then i just get to love Definitely bugs out there and need to optimise a bit, add to here and there but the potential is there to be a great racing game

as others have said, the massively improved tarmac grip but perhaps as a consequence they have ruined gravel by adding too much grip. i dont think anybody is complaining about tarmac having too much grip.

Absolutely amazing driving so I pre ordered my wrc 2023 spent 3 hours on it and to be honest I did not enjoy the experience due to a lot of lag and other issues and I thought my rtx 4090 had packed up on me but it was the game so I got refunded from steam and I am very angry that codemasters/ea on releasing this in the state it was in. Back to dirt rally 2.0 for me.
I agree with you! It's definitely not as bad as DR2 👍🙂 the only settings I did is change the resolution to 7680x1440 and adjusted the driver seat. That's it🙂 Didn't touch anything else 👍😊

How do you get the triple screens to look so natural. Are you using nvidia surround? I’ve tried that and windows runtime but the side screens look warped and stretched. Yours look great. How do you do it?

Great drive and the Quattro looks as much of a handful as always. I did the trial through EA Play last night and while it felt great once I got the FFB dialed in, it was absolutely trying to cook my EVGA 3080ti FTW3 Ultra (pushing triple 32" 1440p monitors). Even when limiting it to 60 fps the gpu was hitting thermal throttle at 83C. 1% lows were down in the 15-25 fps range constantly. Frame timing was also really bad. Granted you are on a 4090, but did you do any graphics tweaks? It looks to run pretty cleanly on your setup. Great vid and as always great content!👍

Looks like some camera fixes are needed for sim rigs though. Kinda distracting watching the wheel stay stationary as the car bounces around it lol. Youd think theyd have had that right for the launch. As someone who will play with a gamepad, seems great though! I def prefer the view like it is for gamepad gamers. But the option should be there to turn off cockpit camera movement in any game claiming to even be sim adjacent.
Totally get where you're coming from, AaronHendu. I noticed that too. The stationary wheel while the car bounces can be a bit off-putting. Hopefully, they'll consider an option to adjust cockpit camera movement for different setups. It's all about giving players the best experience regardless of their gaming device. 👍

Is inertia on gravel more prominent than DR2? I have that there is some hidden stability control on DR2 and cars are too easy to save even with insane drift angles...
My opinion is that the inertia on gravel feels more realistic and the cars do seem to have a bit less 'hidden' stability compared to DR2. You'll find that cars in WRC 23 can be a challenge to save during extreme drift angles. It offers a different and, in my view, a more authentic rallying experience😊

Thank you for the kind words! The perspective you see is thanks to a GoPro camera mounted on a helmet I wear while driving. This captures my real hands and legs in action. The environment around, like the steering wheel and dashboard, is also genuine, part of my triple 55" TV setup, which gives me a wide and immersive view. It's not VR; it's just the camera angle that creates that immersive effect🙂✌️

I'm constantly adjusting my settings, using a mix of max and low settings, in an effort to combat the stuttering. Despite my efforts, I haven't found the perfect balance yet🙄
You driving reminds me a bit at Niki Schelle's ride on the Wallberg with the Delta S4. If dou havent't watched it, check it out, this guy is crazy. He's racing the shit out of the old Lancia just for the german TV show Grip. Tell me if you've watched it yet and your thoughts about it, bro!

Forgive my ignorance, but which Quattro is this. I'm not up on the classic cars in the game, so out of the Quattros one could choose, from the Group B era the dashboard isn't helping me out. The bonnet suggests A1, Michèle Mouton's first Works beastie. Which reminds me of her famous quote after kicking the Unser's butts up Pikes Peak, they were not impressed to be beaten by "a woman". She simply said that "if you boys had any balls, you'd race me back down as well", hard not to respect her driving abilities and her take no guff from the lads attitude. Nice drive mate, busy with the wheel as usual.

You will be the second Sim Racing channel that I have clicked the bell thingy on, the first was Team VVV. I think you mentioned that you are a Nord, some say that you mob are born on a dirt road with a handbrake as a pacifier - that explains the driving ability at least. The only thing that bothers me about this game is that there is only bhp numbers, where rally (mostly) is about engine torque more than engine power, so both would be good, but so far the game is pretty damn impressive so they can be forgiven.

What settings do you use? The oversteer is terrible on my g29 and the recentring torque seems barely noticeable even though I have it turned all the way up.

The force feedback on the Fanatec base for WRC is fantastic! I personally find it even more immersive and detailed than in DR2. Once you get a Fanatec Clubsport DD and experience it firsthand, I think you'll be really impressed. Sorry to hear about your PC incident, but the upgrade to Fanatec will be a game-changer for you!🙂

Unfortunately, WRC 23 doesn't currently support triple screens. However, as evident from this video, its visuals are significantly better than those in DR2. 😁👍 In terms of performance, it leaves something to be desired. If you recall how DR2 performed at launch, WRC 23 feels similar. There's occasional stuttering, but it's still playable. I'm hoping for improvements in upcoming updates. 🤞😊

It's a blast to play and, in my opinion, it feels better than DR2. However, I'm currently experiencing quite a bit of stuttering, regardless of the settings. Fingers crossed they'll address that issue soon 🤞. I'm also hoping for proper triple screen support 😁. Other than that, I'm genuinely loving the game! 🙂

We need multiplayer events in a rally game where you can spectate like IRL...like, be able to walk around certain areas, like a lobby, but at the side of the track like spectators. I think that could be fun in a rally game. Like a rally event where you have a scheduled time slot, and in off time can look after your car and spectate, walk over to leader board displays and stuff lile that. Could have different missions and jobs to kill time, like race photographers, some type of mechanic sim or management. Watxhing and analyzing competitor replays, co driver stage learning activities, etc. Real human co drivers. Live announcing. Motivate participation through some sort of reward system, like bespoke parts or money, sponsors, even cars. Could have pit bikes and stuff in certain areas. All the aesthetic stuff that goes with creating a driver that isnt always in a full race suit. There is so much more to racing than the car and the driver i would love to see in racing games, and I think rally would be a great place to start integrating some stuff like this.

For this particular car, I believe I used a FOV of 50, but keep in mind I adjust this for every car, since WRC still lacks proper triple screen support. As for audio, I haven't made any specific adjustments - just using the default settings. Keep watching for more videos!🙂✌️

Definitely bugs out there and need to optimise a bit, add to here and there but the potential is there to be a great racing game

as others have said, the massively improved tarmac grip but perhaps as a consequence they have ruined gravel by adding too much grip.

Absolutely amazing driving so I pre ordered my wrc 2023 spent 3 hours on it and to be honest I did not enjoy the experience due to a lot of lag and other issues and I thought my rtx 4090 had packed up on me but it was the game so I got refunded from steam and I am very angry that codemasters/ea on releasing this in the state it was in. Back to dirt rally 2.0 for me.

I agree with you! It's definitely not as bad as DR2 👍🙂 the only settings I did is change the resolution to 7680x1440 and adjusted the driver seat. That's it🙂 Didn't touch anything else 👍😊

How do you get the triple screens to look so natural. Are you using nvidia surround? I’ve tried that and windows runtime but the side screens look warped and stretched. Yours look great. How do you do it?

Great drive and the Quattro looks as much of a handful as always. I did the trial through EA Play last night and while it felt great once I got the FFB dialed in, it was absolutely trying to cook my EVGA 3080ti FTW3 Ultra (pushing triple 32" 1440p monitors). Even when limiting it to 60 fps the gpu was hitting thermal throttle at 83C. 1% lows were down in the 15-25 fps range constantly. Frame timing was also really bad.
Granted you are on a 4090, but did you do any graphics tweaks? It looks to run pretty cleanly on your setup. Great vid and as always great content!👍

Looks like some camera fixes are needed for sim rigs though. Kinda distracting watching the wheel stay stationary as the car bounces around it lol. Youd think theyd have had that right for the launch. As someone who will play with a gamepad, seems great though! I def prefer the view like it is for gamepad gamers. But the option should be there to turn off cockpit camera movement in any game claiming to even be sim adjacent.
Totally get where you're coming from, AaronHendu. I noticed that too. The stationary wheel while the car bounces can be a bit off-putting. Hopefully, they'll consider an option to adjust cockpit camera movement for different setups. It's all about giving players the best experience regardless of their gaming device. 👍

As for optimization, there's still some work to be done in WRC 23 as I've noticed occasional stutters. Nonetheless, it's been a thrilling ride!
Is inertia on gravel more prominent than DR2? I have that there is some hidden stability control on DR2 and cars are too easy to save even with insane drift angles...
My opinion is that the inertia on gravel feels more realistic and the cars do seem to have a bit less 'hidden' stability compared to DR2. You'll find that cars in WRC 23 can be a challenge to save during extreme drift angles. It offers a different and, in my view, a more authentic rallying experience😊

Thank you for the kind words! The perspective you see is thanks to a GoPro camera mounted on a helmet I wear while driving. This captures my real hands and legs in action. The environment around, like the steering wheel and dashboard, is also genuine, part of my triple 55" TV setup, which gives me a wide and immersive view. It's not VR; it's just the camera angle that creates that immersive effect🙂✌️
How is the performance? I only get 80fps at 1440 on a 7900xt and I am not looking forward to seeing the triple screen perfomance when I test it

Forgive my ignorance, but which Quattro is this. I'm not up on the classic cars in the game, so out of the Quattros one could choose, from the Group B era the dashboard isn't helping me out. The bonnet suggests A1, Michèle Mouton's first Works beastie. Which reminds me of her famous quote after kicking the Unser's butts up Pikes Peak, they were not impressed to be beaten by "a woman". She simply said that "if you boys had any balls, you'd race me back down as well", hard not to respect her driving abilities and her take no guff from the lads attitude.

I think you mentioned that you are a Nord, some say that you mob are born on a dirt road with a handbrake as a pacifier - that explains the driving ability at least.
The only thing that bothers me about this game is that there is only bhp numbers, where rally (mostly) is about engine torque more than engine power, so both would be good, but so far the game is pretty damn impressive so they can be forgiven.

What settings do you use? The oversteer is terrible on my g29 and the recentring torque seems barely noticeable even though I have it turned all the way up.

The force feedback on the Fanatec base for WRC is fantastic! I personally find it even more immersive and detailed than in DR2. Once you get a Fanatec Clubsport DD and experience it firsthand, I think you'll be really impressed. Sorry to hear about your PC incident, but the upgrade to Fanatec will be a game-changer for you!🙂

Unfortunately, WRC 23 doesn't currently support triple screens. However, as evident from this video, its visuals are significantly better than those in DR2. 😁👍 In terms of performance, it leaves something to be desired. If you recall how DR2 performed at launch, WRC 23 feels similar. There's occasional stuttering, but it's still playable. I'm hoping for improvements in upcoming updates. 🤞😊

Thanks for the comment! I didn't go through the in-game driving school. If you check out my channel, you'll get an idea of my sim racing journey and why I felt I didn't need it. As for driving assistances, I only use a bit of ABS. It all comes down to practice and experience🙂
