Fiat Doblo Hard to Start Long Cranking Injector Leak Off 1.3 Multijet Vauxhall Opel Combo Corsa CDTI

This Fiat Doblo was hard to start especially when the engine and weather were warm, to the point where it would barely start in the summer. It had only done approx 70,000 miles at the time so you wouldn't expect to have injector issues at that mileage.
The ebay injector leak off test kit was about £20 and was simple to fit and it contains a range of adapters to suit different injectors. First remove the leak off hose from the engine by removing the spring clips and gently ease the hose from the injectors. The plastic parts of the hose can be brittle so be careful! We then clamped the hose where it goes into the fuel pump. Then fit the Leak Off Kit using the same spring clips and start the engine and monitor the leak rate.
We replaced the two bad injectors with used injectors from ebay and did not recode the ECU, but we had good results with the van now starting and running fine. Some people on forums were saying you must recode the ECU with the codes on the replacement injectors but we didn't find that necessary, and we also didn't have the equipment to do that.
