Maurice was at his most healthy and happy here after all he suffered with Alcoholism. It was so wonderful to hear his beautiful voice and see his beautiful smile.
Sweet Mo - the glue that held the brothers together. The most musically talented of them as well. He did all the arrangements. And he was so damn cute...
Closer Than Close is one of those hidden gems from the Bee Gee very underrated 90's songs catalog. They really show their diversity during this time-frame. This performance is from their awesome One Night Only Concert from Las Vegas in 1997. The Bee Gees really do a great job covering every era of their careers during this show.
I love this song!! So glad you are reacting to it! MO was very special and nobody really realized just how talented he was!! RIP Maurice, forever in our hearts
Most of their songs have this dreamy, light and otherworldly quality but is one draws me in a romantic trance state like no other. Mo's voice is hypnotic
@@generationgapreacts @Generation Gap Reacts Another great mesmerizing song is Sensuality. 1997 and unreleased, unfortunately. I could wite a thesis on it - sounds, lyrics, voice 🤭 Robin's creations were... ehhm considered eccentric as his personality, 25 years ago. He is my favourite
@@susieq9801 @Susie Q LOL. I find his eccentricity to be positive, inspiring, transcendental while celebrating humanism. Sometimes his eyes reflects this and so much more.
@@kori2287 - Agree. When he sings, his eyes are so expressive, often even closed or looking skyward, and reflect the lyrics. He sang with his heart and soul. He was often criticized for his eccentricity, perhaps at times justifiably so, but if we were all alike the world would be extremely boring. He was also the most philanthropic and socially active, something few know about him. He even wrote a beautiful orchestral piece, the Titanic Requiem, the last year of his life, without being able to read music. Just visited his grave in Thame two weeks ago and the flowers, photos and tributes from all over the world are overwhelming over ten years since his death. He was very active and much loved in the town where he lived.
I love Mo. My favorite by him is “Man In The Middle”. I think you would also like “Our Love” written by The Bee Gees for their younger brother Andy who recorded it late 70s or early 80s. After he passed in 1989, The Bee Gees included it in their live shows as a tribute to Andy. Best version is on the album “One Night Live”.
Any of these guys could have been great as solo acts but so glad they stayed together. Mo said - One of us is pretty good, two is better but the three of us together is magic. Right on Mo.
I agree the Bee Gees are super fantastic!! Wildflower is another song spot lighting Maurice Gibb, very beautiful song, give it a listen you won't regret it!! Also Man in the Middle, Maurice wrote.
👍👍 What I've noticed over the years, is the more I hear Maurice and Robin separately, the more I can recognize all three voices when they harmonize, and realize how it would be so different if even one of them was not singing!
Hello from Canada. You should have s look at the making of Immortality written for Celine Dion with them all making it happen. The brothers get so emotional hearing their song Sung by Celine. Also there is a tribute song sung by them called Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow but must see and hear them making this song in the studio. It is fantastic. Thank you, love the Bee Gees Loreta
FYI, almost always they got an idea from a word or phrase, or a phrase of melody and wrote the music 1st. And once the music is set then they wrote the lyrics to fit the melody. They never altered the melody to fit the lyrics!
Mo has a great voice, yes a bit sensual but great as usual, Love the Bee Gees!!! Another great song Mo is lead on is Walking on air a great song. Actually as you go through the Bee Gees catalog there are many that Mo sang lead. They categorized themselves as pop mostly but they loved R&B and have some great ballots as well.... Robin headlines in Don't fall in love with me Baby.....Barry is just great in The only love..... What can I say they are the Bee Gees!!!! Great reaction ladies!!
Love your response and reactions both of you Andy Gibb next please our love don't throw it all away, everlasting love song,I just want to be your everything ,love is thicker than water, desire so many good songs by the Gibbs brothers all four of them
They had a practice of the primary writer singing the lead. Even tho all 3 might have writing credit, it was about who brought in the idea.If the idea was born while together, there are more harmonies, alternating leads, and mixed vocals leads. Barry and Robin were the dominant idea men, but all 3 usually completed the writing together. If Mo is singing lead, he usually wrote words and music, provided all vocals, and played all instruments except drums and orchestra on the studio recording. They had a preferred practice of writing in the studio and then immediately recording, because it allowed for creative spontaneity. In a 60’s interview, their manager Robert Stigwood said that Mo could instantly arrange whatever Barry and Robin wrote, which was a key to their ability to work the way they did. It so interesting how opposite Robin and Mo were, even tho twins. Robin preferred writing lyrics and thrived on vocals, while Mo was known to not like writing lyrics, and thrive on instrumental aspects and trying every new gadget that cane out. Mo was also extremely extroverted, and Robin just as equally introverted, while Barry is a more balanced and complete package all in one. Mo’s ability to naturally play all instruments by ear, place the third harmony, and instantly arrange are totally genius qualities that were super important to their body of work. They are said to have had a sort of telepathy when writing together, with many of their hits being written in just 4 to 10 minutes. For all of their professional competitiveness, they all seemed to be each other’s biggest fans. One of Mo’s most important roles for the groups was to be the “MAN IN THE MIDDLE” (name one of his songs on their final album before he passed) of his two very competitive alpha musician brothers. He could be the most Rock and Roll of the 3, while also excelling at Country. Please react to his song HOLD HER IN YOUR HAND.
During the 1997 Las Vegas One Night Only show! Doesn't Mo look FABULOUS!! LOVE his voice!! Love the Still Waters album, my favorite!! Try other songs from Still Waters, can't go wrong!!
