Barry, Robin and Maurice write from their heart. Actually all four brothers married while still in their teens and unfortunately divorced. The three were in their second marriage. Barry celebrated his 52nd wedding anniversary and his 76th birthday on September 1st. He said that it was love at first sight when he saw Linda and from the day they married there was never anyone else for either of them. Maurice always said that marrying Yvonne was the best thing that had happened to him and they played Wedding Day on the day they renewed their wedding vows. Robin took his divorce from his first wife very hard and he was less expressive about his second wife. The song Wedding Day is so beautiful and you can hear the love they felt for their wives. There’s a song by Barry and written by Barry and Maurice that’s called “The day your eyes meet mine”, it’s so beautiful and full of emotion. It was written in 1970 the year he married Linda and it’s not hard to imagine he wrote every word for her.
Barry admitted he was too young to marry the first time. It happens. Robin said he was devastated, after 11 years and two children, at Molly divorcing him but she never saw him and she felt like a single mother. His relationship, strange as it appeared, with Dwina lasted almost 30 years and she cared for him until his death. Mo said he was too young when he and Lulu married and they were both party animals. He was with Yvonne, a lovely lady, until his untimely death.

Love this song. Definitely one of the best latter Bee Gees songs. It came from the Bee Gees last album released in 2001. Great live performance seeing them at their best one more time (sadly we would lose Maurice shortly after)..

Great reaction, ladies, as always. This song was released in 2001 on sadly what turned out to be their last album, "This Is Where I Came In". It wouldn't be that long that Mo would unexpectedly passed away on January 12th, 2003, which hits close to home for me because that's my mom's birthday and she sadly passed away in 1981 at 53 years old, which is ironically the same age that our precious Mo passed away. Such a sad day for me and millions of Mo fans. And, speaking of the debate over "studio" versus "live", I think that if you where making that decision about any other group but the Bee Gees you'd probably choose studio recordings to react to but our guys always put on such amazing live performances that it's quite often stated that their live versions were just as good or even better than (if that's even possible) their studio versions. And you're both so right when you said reacting to live versions of their songs allows you to see all their emotions written all over their faces and, in my opinion, it can't get any better than that! Well done, ladies, well done!
Actually Barry was married before, at age 19, back in Australia before they returned to the UK in 1967. Maureen didn't go with him and they divorced, and he married Linda.
This was released in 2001 off their album “ This is where I Came in” was the last album they all recorded together before Mo died. BTW, they all married really young. They were all too immature ( their words). Barry was Married before they left Australia to go back to England. It didn’t even last a year I think. So Linda is his second Wife as well as the brothers all stayed with their second wives until the end. Barry was married on his birthday to Linda Gray. They have 5 grown children and last I knew 8 grand children that call Barry Poppy. Barry, said that family was everything to him. When they moved to Miami, Barry moved everyone including his wife s parents, his parents…his brothers all bought houses on the same row..they used to make fun of Barry, that he led a boring life…but he said he would rather spend an evening with his wife and kids then go out clubbing or partying, etc.
One of the happiest things I have seen was 3 of his grandkids singing part of the chorus to "Stayin' Alive" on the Piers Morgan show back in 2017.

Thank you for reacting to this beautiful song with the live performance. By what I read, the song was recorded in 1999 during their older years, and released a couple years later in 2001. They really are the best of the best....

Anyway, I don't know if you are familiar with the concert this video is from. It was called 'Live By Request" on A&E. They took requests from people calling and emailing in. That took guts, but the brothers had serious game.

This live version was from 2001 the same year the album this song was on was released. Sadly, this was just 2 years before Maurice died. I don't think this song was actually released but I remember loving it from the album! I am sure the song I'm going to request is on your list to do from the Bee Gees but it is "Love you Inside Out".

Barry has been married twice, but his first marriage seemed to be over as fast as it started because it seemed they were separated shortly after they got to London and the Bee Gees got into building their career. But he met Linda and then being separated wasn't enough because he knew she was the real one. Because the divorce came, and wife 1 returned to Australia, and Barry became engaged and then married his now wife Linda. They've been together over 52 years with their dating added on to their marriage. And have 5 children.

Thank you for looking at wedding day. This is one of my favorite BG songs and I feel it is often overlooked. When you know the back stories of each of the brothers the song becomes so much more meaningful. I'm to be married soon and I will have this song somewhere in the program. I'm not sure where but I will have it on my wedding day.

Live version of "Words" is the same effect. If his wife is in the audience he sings it to her. There's several live versions but look for him in blue jeans and a black shirt. He interacts with the audience in this one and sings it more romantically imo

"This is my pledge to you": If there's been any band, playin' live just as well as in the studio, for sure it's Bee Gees! Four times in my life, between 1969 and 1992, I had the pleasure to visit concerts of them and it's always been so, so special, because of their ability to setya soul free from ballast, bringing in positive emotions. Was in many, really good concerts of bands or musicians like 'Who', 'Golden Earring', 'Eric Clapton', 'Bob Dylan', 'Neil Young' etc., so I can write that way. Now it's time forya, to check'em out with 'Blue Island', live and unplugged 1993, MTV Most Wanted.
Is there any way you could react to The Bee Gees song Wish You Were Here! The brothers went into the studio not long after Andy passed away. Apparently, the three of them cried so much that they couldn’t write any music. They decided to leave the studio and come back together at a later time.
When they came back to the studio and composed Wish You Were Here not realizing it was written in Andy’s memory. Truly special! There is a version online with home videos of the brothers.

Just a side note Barry was married briefly in the late 60s before meeting and marrying the love of his life Linda.

I’ve wondered if this was written for one of their children’s or a friend’s wedding, or if inspired by a wedding one of them attended, but haven’t seen any explanation. Another great song performed perfectly live is SACRED TRUST. They said a well known boy band asked for a song, but the band’s management rejected it, so they recorded it themselves, and it was also recorded by One True Voice. Please react to the Bee Gees’ live version. Also, a real standout in Robin’s solo work for me is his official video for Elan Vannin. It’s the national anthem of the Isle of Mann where they were born, but short, so Robin wrote a verse or two to go with it. He filmed the video on location with a choir. It’s so beautiful!! It’s a must for reacting.

Barry's voice sounds so beautiful singing his part, then Robin blows you away with his absolutely amazing voice when he starts singing! First time I heard this song was on the tv show "Providence." It was playing softly in the background of a wedding episode, and I wasn't paying that much attention to it until Barry started singing, and my ears perked up and I thought, "Is that...? Could it be...?" The music was so quiet, I couldn't tell for sure. But when Robin came in, then I KNEW! I couldn't believe the show was using this brand new Bee Gees song!
Beautiful song, emotional reaction. Barry was married for 31 years at this time. Unforgettable. Wanted to mention Blue Island as a moving track on this 2001 album. Barry talked about Bosnia a lot and that the women and children should be extracted from the war. I guess they heard him in Ukraine :)

Thank you for doing such a great job with all the reactions. I'm loving getting to revisit so many hits from the 60s, 70s and 80s. As you're looking through the Bee Gees catalog, please consider Songbird from the Main Course album. It was released in 1975 but listen to the lyrics and see if it hits you both the same way it did me. It is very prophetic considering the loss of Andy some many years later.

I looked though your posts and I didn't see any Creedence Clearwater Revival. My favorite is Proud Mary. I was on active duty in the US Navy at the time Proud Mary came out. Nobody could get a copy of it before we set sail for a 6-month trip to Naples, Italy. While wondering around Naples I stumbled onto the black market and found a copy of the album, possibly pirated. I was a huge hit on board.
