    Chris, I have followed you for a long time and this is the first time commenting on your channel. I have enjoyed watching your videos. My Brother-in-law has grown a 3+ million dollar excavating business in Canada doing every imaginable type of job possible. The work you guys do is an art that requires pride of ownership, skill and customer satisfaction. You definitely have a calling for moving the landscape. Great work and videos.

    The landfill here they actually put pipes into the fill to bleed off the methane gas that is formed when the biomass decomposes, the gas is pumped to a power plant.

    Zeta was no joke in Alabama. I lost one tree on my property. As luck would have it it fell over my electrical service, ripping everything off the house. Finally got it repaired and hopefully the electrical company can reconnect me tomorrow. Thankfully I had a whole house generator installed when we but the house and it has been working overtime:)

    If it's like here in N. Virginia, they will mulch it at the Dump/Landfill. They recycle it into Top Soil. Takes years ,so it requires alot of land .

    Thanks for the explanation as to why the wood is not mulched. Sounds that it is the most cost effective way to clear a lot, of the pistol/stick pines. Sure seems that there is away to recycle material. Thanks for the tour through the land dump site. Pushing that stake in, after it came out of the ground was sure a majestic trick. One for the books. No one else could have done that.

    • @TheBrushcutter
      @TheBrushcutter 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've seen the results of someone mulching a house lot. All the shredded chips and chunks don't rot in minutes. Takes several years actually, and it isn't pretty to look at for a yard. As Chris stated, you still have to have someone dig out the stumps, or deal with all the regrowth from them, then there is the issue of some amount of shredded material being buried under the dirt on the house pad. Mulching has its place but on a house site isn't one.

      That may be true. A chain saw is $400. An excavator is a tad bit more expensive. However, even though a chainsaw is inexpensive, the plant material and the stumps have to be removed.

I found myself picking up sticks and twigs in the yard this morning using a hand operated grabber, I would pick up one and lay it next to another one and then get one more, then I would pick up all 3 to make sure I had a full “grapple “ load.

    What kind of license do you need to operate one of those? Im obsessed with the idea of one day getting land and putting a nice landscaped house with a control tower roofer and viewing deck above overlooking the trees and i want to use those trees to build more cabins to rent out around the property but not too close too eachother. Jobs jist dont pay shit anymore so one can dream. Im just ready to get away from the city. Off grid somewhat with healthy food i grow but a modernized look with a less is more mentality. I'll be following you this is all very interesting.
