    Great Video, thank you. I'm using a Zhiyun Crane M2. Do you know the best mode to use for walking / moving? Should the gimbal be free to move around on all motors, I'm getting slight camera shake if its on pan fade etc.

  • @Fotoadsza
    @Fotoadsza 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Thank you for this video, really helpful. I'm starting out with real estate videos and find that my RSC2 moves side to side as I'm walking forward, no matter how carefully I try to walk. Which setting needs adjusting to limit/stiffen the left to right movement?

    • @PeterMakholm
      @PeterMakholm  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You will have to adjust the deadband and lower the motor strength a bit. I have deadbabd set to 4 but the higher value = longer delay.

    Peter, great video again. One question about balancing camera with exterior microphone attached to hot shoe. For the RSC-2, there is not enough space between the tilt arm and the main part of the gimbal to point the camera straight up for initial tilt balancing. How do you handle such situations?

    • @PeterMakholm
      @PeterMakholm  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I never use an external mic on a gimbal. But I would put a cage on the camera and mount the mic on the side of the camera.

    Hi Peter, I have a question related to the extra handle grip we can see in this video, I was looking for an extra handle that also had a cold shoe to mount an external monitor, and this seems to be it. Id be intending of using it with a Ronin SC + a FeelWorld T7 7" monitor, and the question I had was if you knew if it would have enough clearance to mount that 7" monitor so it doesn't touch the gimbal on its sides nor the pan axis (I saw your video on the handle but as it was used with the Weebill S it doesn't really help answer my question :c), thank you!

    When I use it with steady shoot on I feel like when I do parallax moves, it does some weird little jumps with the A1 and A7siii

    Great video & tips. One question. Are you able to share with us the brand/type of shoes that you use. It sounds like you think the choice is very important and I would imagine you have put a lot of work into selecting the right pair. Can you share with us exactly what shoes you find best for gimbal work? Thanks!

    Quick question, is there a what not to do video? I have a rs2. I am not sure if my gimbal is broken or it is normal. I have all my axis lock during shoot at a direction. In flashlight orientation, when i spin my body, the force follow kicks in. In normal orientation, it stays pointed at the initial direction. Both is fine, however if i tilt my gimbal (between normal n flashlight) around 45degrees orientation and start spining, the camera still point to the initial positon but then after too much turning, it causes the motor to go haywire (turn the camera upside down) very fast like the motor broken. I have to sleep the gimbal n turn my orientation back to normal and start again. Other than that move, gimbal is ok. Is this normal? Meaning i should never do that, tilt my gombal (not my camera) and spin?

    Hi, Peter, Here's my question: I have a sony a6600 and just got the crane m3. The sony a6600 has a basic IBIS. A Sony rep two days ago told me to TURN OFF the Sony A6600's internal IBIS when using the gimbal. He said this is his general recommendation for at least Sony cameras---because according to him, the camera's IBIS will interfere with the gimbal's balance mechanisms. Is this the case? Thanks, Peter, for your gimbal tips.

    If I balance the gimbal well for a 24mm zoom lens and want to switch to 70mm during filming, how do I do it? do i have to rebalance everything again to 70?

    • @baileyforrester7
      @baileyforrester7 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes. Unfortunately. In this instance I usually run a 24-70 or 24-105 & I lock all axises besides tilt & just roll the camera back on the mount plate. It’s a semi quick way of doing it while on the shoot. Rather than rebalancing all the axises.

    I can never go slowly enough. Every time I get footage with a gimbal, I look at it after and I'm going way too fast and the footage isn't smooth. A wide angle lens would help, but I still need to slow down and never forget to move like I'm in slow motion.
