    The Singapore Blue is a large asian arboreal spider that likes a good level of humidity and warmth these can be difficult to breed due to the lack of available males and the females often eating them before copulation .

I raised my kids on that place, and graduated from CEU in 1993. Gauds I miss the Days of 47 and the Greek festival, not to mention all the others down in Huntington, Ferron, Castleberry, and Green River. Miss those melons too.

    7:10 Although not everyone agrees that that screen/mesh lids are hazardous for tarantulas, I avoid them.
    While arboreals are better climbers, their tarsal claws can still get stuck in a fine mesh. (There are a few points in your video where the spiders' movements were jerky, as if they were having to pull their claws free.)
    My _Avicularia avicularia_ did seem to have trouble walking across the screen. Sometimes, she would pull her foot free and keep moving, but once she fell in the attempt. Fortunately, she landed in the water dish and was unharmed, but I took that for a warning and fixed it.

    • @daveslittlebeasties
      @daveslittlebeasties  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes there has been reports but personally I have never had any issues at all and all appear to be abl to navigate around with ease especially the arborial ones if you terrestrial spiders are on the roof I would rearrange their enclosure 👍

    • @thepepperaustinchannel
      @thepepperaustinchannel 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      When you weight the ability to precision control the humidity in the enclosure against the risk of an arboreal spider becoming trapped, I think the mesh is the better option. In my enclosures that I converted to vented acrylic, I have to control humidity with fans circulating air in the room. With the mesh lids there is the option of bringing humidity levels down relatively quickly when necessary.

    Great short course on spider "neonatal care". They're a worthy sight even at this age. I'm pleased you let us have a look.

    Camera lady is soooo gentle with the babies. I can feel the love and care she feels for the tiny spiders. BTW what does the sac feel like? What do the little eggs feel like? Please and thank you.

    Your commentary Dave, really makes these videos absolutely awesome and addictive to watch. I've been binge watching since since recently finding your channel. Not only is it educational, but you really do a great job at giving your little beasties personalities. The female in this particular video I'd even go as far as saying is kind of adorable. It's all so fascinating. So happy I found your channel mate! Keep up the good work 👍.

    Amazing from conception to the egg sack extration! Very interesting seeing the eggs and how they are cleaned off. Do you have a video of how you construct the nursery pot? I love seeing how you stay so calm and so gentel when moving the mother spider. I a new tarantula keeper and learn so much watching your videos. Thank you

    Lol when you mentioned the male bouncing up and down to show his intentions, all I could think about was the Monty Python sketch with the Hungarian-English phrase book. "Do you want to come back to my place? BOUNCY BOUNCY!"

    These two spiders were all about the foreplay and the business lasted only a moment. Poor girl, but then again, she kind of ended it I guess. lol Great video. I love the "he found the love of his life" comment.

    Hi dave great video as usual. At some point in the future would you be able to do a full tutorial video on pairing tarantulas? Obviously it's not as simple as just putting a male in with a female. It would be great if you could share some of your knowledge.
