Yeah I seen there commercial as soon as I saw they where using footage from a Nikon P1000 video I told the channel owner and made a comment under every video I saw on it. If you really want the zoom they show in the video get yourself a Nikon P900/P950 or P1000 Thanks for sharing and putting these scammers on blast 😁👍
I love watching these scam reviews. As soon as I saw the advertisement start playing here on TH-cam, I knew I was in for a good scam. It probably cost them $4 to make these after packaging.
The word zoom is not a standard, your binoculars are 8x, the x means times your vision, the scope is 8x or 8 times whatever they decided would be an accurate representation of a phone focal distance, in this case it's clearly misleading as I would imagine you'd have to choose a pretty wide camera to claim 50x but it's not quite fake. Then again, if you're buying dirt cheap glass or worse, plastic from Amazon, what can realistically be expected? I think what the lens can do is quite in line with the lowest expectations and the price.

even in the shaking I could see sharper image more bold coloration. My observation: blur, haze, clarity loss is due to the housing not having enough light getting in. ussually with small lens types or cheap glass.
I have purchased exactly the same monocular from Amazon UK (December 2022). Same packaging, looks like exactly the same contents and the actual monocular. The thing is it is no marketed as 12X50 which seems closer to the correct value.
I bought the one that comes in a blue box, it may be a different camera but it’s called star scope and it has a reach of 305 feet or 1000 yards. I tried it it’s not bad!

Hi Robert, I too was taken in by this and like you I ordered my back in January and received the monocular about 3 weeks ago and received the phone holder yesterday. These two items were ordered on the same day, I tried it out yesterday on my iPhone 8 and I have to say my old binoculars were much better than this crap. I’ve sent them an email just to let them know how I really felt about it and how it was a scam, I’ll give it to one of my G’Kids to play with.
You confuse zoom with magnification. 8x32 means 8 times magnification and a front lens diameter of 32mm. Magnifications above 12 are very difficult to use hand held without expensive optical stabilization or a solid tripod. Be very wary of anything that offers 40 mag with a relatively small 60mm objective. Its going to offer a dull flat image that can only be used solidly mounted.
you miss the point, talking about clarity, bold sharp images which the monocular didn't have due to light not getting in. you know this since you understand 8x32.
I bought this crap off ebay and the seller didnt even send the phone mount ?! WTF ?! Cheap eye peice came with it and the cery same crap you took out that box!! No name brand B.S !!!

My dad bought me a Viajero monocular off of Amazon for $25 and the thing sucks.. zoom is blurry, pictures are crap quality (foggy like your side-by-side comparisons) and if you're watching sports from afar; imaging isn't what the eye naturally defines. Definitely buyer beware
I remember around summer of last year my mom bought me a Amazon telescope for passing fifth grade and when I got it I was very disappointed the steps were simple and all but at night I could barely see anything it almost seemed every item was useless and it was very blurry to see into, plus it was freaking $75 plus tax so that’s like $78 for A telescope what make me even more mad is that a zoom in lens of the telescope worked better than the whole thing to see the moon.

Actually, that is the problem, you don't always get what you paid for. The very cheap and easily broken phone stand, which when it arrived was not the one advertised by Steve Wozniak, even though the advert made it look like it was. To add insult to injury Paypal sided with the seller when there is no way the item matched the description.

Hi, I feel I need to say something, 40x60 and 8x32 does not describe the same thing. Just sad "40x" fool some people to believe the magnification is 40 times. The 40x60 monocular telescope has a amplification power of 10 times (X10) according to the description, on AliExpress, on exact the same Telescope. But as you can see in this review between 2:18-3:14 min, it's probably less then x8 because the picture from 8x32 Diamondback is "bigger" (x7,5 I would guess). You can never expect top quality, not even quality on a 40x60 phone telescope at that price. But you can have some fun with it. Also keep in mind that a Vortex Diamondback 8x32 costs around 10 times more. So it's not really fair to compare
My wife purchases 2 of these for Christmas gifts, she spent around $100, they are complete junk. Not even worthy of the Dollar store junk. One of them has loose parts inside and won't focus. Too bad she didn't buy them from Amazon or they would have been returned.
cant compare a binocular with a monocular in the first place, and optical zoom and digital zoom are 2 different things, digital zoom always gets pixely the more you zoom the more broken up in to pixels it gets unless you can increase the resolution, always keep in mind you get what you pay for, buy cheap get cheap !!! simple as that, if you want an affordable monocular look at Gosky 12 x 55 monocular ,or Gosky 12x50 titan monocular . in my opinion the best at this relativaly low cost

I attached a pic of the view through my phone (iPhone 13 max pro). With some more adjustments it would probably be fine. I would just use this by holding up to my eye and forget trying to capture pics through my phone. It comes with an attachment piece to your phone, a tripod, a lanyard, cleaning cloth and a holster that can be worn on your belt. Overall the image quality is good.

Yes, a monocular with a diopter adjusting ring. Makes perfect sense.

Nice review. I get what I want to know. But you confused optical zoom - the circle goes away after you "digitally" zoom in with your iPhone.
@Neil L iPhone can only digital zoom. He said optical zoom. Big difference in terms of resolution.
For who is looking for a good and inexpensive monocular: I can strongly recommend the Vortex Solo 8x25. For around 59 Euro, it is a very good option!
