This game was legendary back in the day. It definitely revolutionized 2D Mario platforming with walljumps, ground pounds, triple jumps etc.
Honestly would choose to play this one over the other “New” games.
But obviously what’s new is kinda old so I hope Nintendo takes a new direction in classic Mario.

I'm excited that nsmb U and Luigi U are coming to switch as I never owned a wii u to play them. I absolutely love these games. Sometimes I still go back to the ds one. At the same time though I hope this won't be the end of 2d mario. Switch needs it's own 2d Mario title too.

Am I the only one who actually likes the Mini Mushroom? I like how Mario's jump gets floaty along with addition of being able to walk on water, and I always like trying to survive as long as I can while mini. Sure, I can die in one hit, but I like the extra challenge.

Too easy? I can understand why you'd say that as a Mario fan, but give this game to somebody who's less experienced with platformers or video games in general and you'll see why. This game wasn't designed for series veterans. It's actually a surprisingly challenging game for people who are just casual players, and that's who it's designed for! I know that that doesn't mean that it's a good game for *you*, but that doesn't mean the difficulty is poorly designed. It just means that being too easy for series veterans was not something they were trying to avoid.
I agree with you, when I was about 7 or 8 (during 2009), I had to play through each level learning how to beat them without dying. I lost count of how many game overs I got...

The mini mushroom is actually one of my favorite mario powerups, you have a really small hitbox and you just jump/run around any enemies that you encounter.
So I see people talking that he first said the levels were easy, to saying the levels were hard. The levels them selves are very easy, it's the star coins that make it more challenging. If you attempt to beat the levels without getting any star coins. Most of the levels are easy. Trying to get all the star coins makes SOME of the levels challenging.
