      That whole cookie theory could well be just a retcon - this movie was released in '99 and of course written well before then, and internet cookies weren't very well known or understood at the time (certainly not by the general public), just as the internet wasn't as widely spread or used either. It would have been an extremely subtle thing to deliberately include into the movie script at that point in time.
      Or like Sigmund Freud once said - "sometimes a chocolate-chip cookie is just a chocolate-chip cookie."

    The Matrix borrows in places from Ghost in the Shell (1995). The brain in a vat concept took form in 1981, but the evil demon spinning delusions scenario was thought up by René Descartes in 1641. And Plato's Cave allegory dates to 375 BC.

    • @lennyvalentin6485
      @lennyvalentin6485 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Basically all human culture, be it oral or writings, borrows to some extent from other, previous works. In addition to the examples you give, there's Morpheus, associated with sleep and dreaming, from the ancient Greek myths, who comes here in this movie to wake people up from their slumber.
      (Btw... Anyone who wants to draw any kind of conclusions from a movie centering around awakening/"wokeness" and which also has a character called "Switch", which in their original embodiment before the movie studio stepped in and killed it was meant to picture a transgender person displaying one gender inside the Matrix and another in the real world, are free to do so. :D)

      It most heavily leans on Simulacra and Simulation by Baudrillard, which was required reading for the cast. It’s also included in the movie, when Neo gets his disks out of the empty book (a copy of S&S). You are right that these ideas go back to Plato, but the Wachowskis were mainly influenced by the work I mentioned.

Out of all the crazy ideas and conspiracies out there, simulation theory has got to be the one that's up there on the "most logical and probable" list. It Wasn't, "the power of love" that raised Neo from the dead. In Medieval Times, (when they cut people's heads off), they would ask the head questions, and the head would answer by blinking their eyes.
    And yeah I know how that sounds. But it was discovered that the head would actually live separate from the body for as much as 2 minutes.
    Therefore, it is entirely possible, that Neo heard Trinity talking to him after he was shot dead. And that her kiss, simply reminded him of who, and *Where he was.
    That realization; the realization that his Real body was still sitting in that chair; was all the information Neo needed to, "Get, Up!"
    That and...
    "Is that Air you're breathing???"

    • @jayfrancelf
      @jayfrancelf 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It’s not even that. It’s the fulfillment of the Prophecy. The Oracle told Trinity that the man she fell in love with would be The One. The Oracle told Neo that either he or Morpheus would die and that he seemed like “he was waiting for something. Maybe your next life” in regard to being The One. Trinity kisses Neo accepting that she’d fallen in love with him. Neo dies. Prophecy fulfilled.

      The blood flow would stop immediately(in the dome) when the head is severed from the rest of the body, so it would be some sort of a miracle IF the head part would do anything but twitches by reflexes...Pure physics...You can ask as many questions as you´d like to a severed head and it WON´T tell you no answers. Not even the answer to a question ; " What is the purpose of Life?"
      ...Truly wondering where these kind of fairy tales are coming from...

    I always thought the kiss was such a corny turning point for an otherwise great movie, but the more I think about it, maybe the acknowledgement of her love for him was required for the completion of the prophecy. I always felt that scene was corny until I read someone else's comment that explained perfectly why it brought him back to life. I don't remember the details but it was something along the lines of: it was a reminder to Neo that his body in his real life was fine, and that what happened in the matrix wasnt real. This is almost like watching an audio only version of The Matrix. Couldn't see much but the flowers. Oh well, the film's visuals weren't that important anyhow. What matters primarily is the dialogue. Just imagine if The Matrix had originally been a radio broadcast like the 1938 version of Orson Welles's "War of the Worlds". I get that she's trying to avoid copyright blocking. I just have to rely on the memory of my watching this film 50 times previously to get what's she's reacting to in the movie.

    Love your reaction! I saw this in theaters in 1999 and it was amazing!!! Definitely one of my favorite mindfuck movies of all time. Unfortunately none of the sequels even remotely live up to this one. The 2nd one is not bad, but it’s confusing as hell, even more than this one. You have to watch it like 5 times for it to really make sense, and once it does you realize it’s a very decent movie. The 3rd one just sucks, although it does have some good visuals. I actually really liked the recent one, but I think that was for the nostalgia. It seems most people didn’t like it.

    The directors The Wachowski brothers, who are now the Wachowski sisters, made this film as a commentary on transsexualism, only at that time they gave it a different approach because if it had been more specific, they would not have let them make the film.

      If you’ve already seen the movie you don’t need to see what she sees because it should play like a movie in your head all over again with nothing but voice cues. Unless you’re one of those people that have no internal dialogue and don’t have the ability to visualize things.
      If you Haven’t seen it already, then why make this your first exposure to the movie?
      It’s also quite easy to see what’s happening when you stop complaining and just watch.

      @@jimj9040couldn't agree more. Most reactions I watch are movies I love, and half the time I just listen without watching anyway. Plus obscured visuals are pretty common amongst reaction videos in order to work around copyright limitations. Not sure why someone felt the need to complain and thumbs down instead of just not watching.

      I'm not sure what you were smoking. I could see it just fine. Filters are always on reactions because of copyright issues.

  • @R20set
    @R20set 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    You do ok music reactions but movies don't seem to be quite your thing. You say barely 10 words during the movie, you don't let us know your thoughts, almost no comments on the actors, sets, scenes, plot, filmography or anything that would be interesting to hear your opinion on. I'm watching you quietly watch a movie, basically.
    And if all of that comes after the movie, there's really no point in watching the reaction itself. And please don't be offended by this, to make a good reaction video you have to be a bit more interactive, talkative. I'll see how you are doing in another six months or so.

    • @luzng
      @luzng 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      jajaja, that`s a good one. But many reactors do it this way, and some people actually like it, and maybe with another movie that she watches its different so dont wait 6 months to come back!

    • @santiagorodriguez9849
      @santiagorodriguez9849 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is normal since it is a reaction video, not a comment video.
      Thoughts and comments about the movie are best given at the end.
      Personally, I think this is a better approach.
      It really depends more on people's taste since there are reactors who spend all their time talking and because of that they don't pay attention to the movie and don't react to important parts of it.

    • @R20set
      @R20set 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@santiagorodriguez9849 Only that it says it in the title, commentary. As an approach this is in no way better, what's the point of watching someone stare at a movie saying "oh my god you guys" every 10 minutes?
      It makes posting the reaction part pointless, she could just do the after movie commentary then.

    • @santiagorodriguez9849
      @santiagorodriguez9849 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@R20set I understand, you mean like the audio comments that they put in the special features of the movies, which in this case would be a video commentary.
      It seems to me that it is a matter of taste as to what each person likes to watch and fortunately there are many channels with different ways of making reactions. Personally, I like this way more, seeing the person's reactions just when an iconic scene or some interesting dialogue happens and hear what the person thought of it after having seen it.
      But I understand, each person's tastes are respected.
