I’m SO GLAD somebody else loves Bane and Scarecrow’s designs in this game. I have heavy bias towards this game since it’s my favorite piece of Batman media ever but to me, this has got to be my second favorite Bane design not counting the perfection of the og comic design, and this is by far my number 1 favorite scarecrow design of all time
I genuinely think the Scarecrow design is peak scarecrow and the bane design is, like you said, second behind his comic look, think Asylum NAILED the designs 💙🦇
The uncomfortable and off vibe arkham asylum gives is unmatched by other games in the series.Even though its the smallest and simplest game in the series in my opinion it has the most coherent vision. It might be a hot take but this is my favourite game in the arkham series.
I would say that’s a definite valid take, I always love talking to people about their favourite Arkham games because everyone has a different list and I know in my case that list changes nearly weekly 😂💙🦇
I totally agree on your point early in the video about the UI. Asylum's menus had a sort of beautiful messiness to them that none of the rest of the series ever truly replicated. It definitely feels the most like a mainline comic adaptation between that and the character bios being heavily based on their comic origins, whilst later games would lift from a litany of sources.
I love the UI in this game, the rest of the games felt a bit more “techy” if that makes sense but Asylum felt like every single part of the game was also a part of the Asylum itself, and the character bios are great, easily my favourite set of that sort of thing we get in these games
@CharlesCardy Oh yeah, it absolutely makes sense. City, Origins and especially Knight almost gave a Nolan feel to me with how they handled their menus and UI. Not that it's a bad thing at all, but it certainly gives Asylum a very distinct style from its younger brothers. Another thing I liked about the character bios is how we got a lot of insight for characters who don't even appear in the game like Two Face, Catwoman, Killer Moth, et cetera, whilst the later entries seemed to reserve bios for those who actually show up in the story.
I mean this nicely but THANK GOD THAT GOT YOU, I felt accomplished when I pulled that off and really wanted to get someone with it😂- thanks for support man, much love 💙🦇
I’ve played Arkham City the most of the Rocksteady trilogy and this one the least, but I’d have to say that Arkham Knight has not only held up the best but is actually visually MUCH better than a lot of stuff that’s coming out today - nearly 10 years after its release.
I disagree, to me asylum was the pinnacle. Tight, no bloat which delivered the perfect atmosphere and never outstayed it's welcome. But I have a pretty big negative basis towards open world 😅
The great thing about these games is that everyone has a different favourite, I think Knight and City have aged the best, Knight visually is still insane, but all of them have aged nicely, my list of favourites changes each week at this point, at the moment it’s asylum but that’s probably just because of this video 😂
Unfortunately while visually the games did get better and better, the art direction I was never as tight and iconic as asylum, from the architecture to the different menus, specially the one where you see what other takedowns are available, and the art they show when listening in to the tapes, it’s all so perfectly in line with comics
Personally my favourite is difficult, City and Origins are competing for top spot, followed by Knight for the gameplay, then Shadow, then Asylum. Though I adore every single one of these games
Another fun part about the metal detector from 1:07:51 is that it also detects individual gadgets. It alerts if you throw a Batarang, or a Remote Batarang through it, but if you get enough distance and shoot the grapple gun through it, it beeps when it goes through, and beeps when it comes back through to return to the gun.
Sorry this is genuinely great, I never knew this, I’m loading up asylum right now to fuck around with this. Thank you. You’ve just made my favourite feature in this game 10x better 💙😂🦇
392 subs I saw the length of the video and thought you were a huge TH-camr you deserve huge success gonna make some food and delve in you’ve earned a sub today and hopes to many more
Say what u want about this game but it was the closest to a Batman Horror Game back in 2009 :) Arkham City had elements of horror but wasnt as intense as the previous game but Arkham Knight kinda went back to the tone of Asylum and it amped the horror aspect big time especially with man bat and Scarecrowsfear toxin's hallucinating moments
I have just bought the trilogy and went in blind apart from some good reviews from friends. Usually it's not my type of game but Arkham Asylum got me hooked and I completed it in a few sittings, very much enjoying the story and gameplay. Looking forward to playing the other two but Asylum has started this trilogy out very strongly.
Really hope you enjoy them bro! Asylum is such a good first game and honestly, you’ll not forget it. City is probably the most well rounded but the mechanical gameplay side of Knight is by far the best! Im so glad new people are checking these games out, all the best dude! 💙🦇
this is so brilliant the most terrifying prison location and criminals find a way to run free a second problem is titan this venomus substance able to make anyone become giant sized and third problem is these mutated plants deadly they grow fast exploring this is only the beginning here . .
I’ve genuinely never figured out how to get to them without them attacking, probably a really easy solution like you mentioned but I feel like they don’t care either way 😂
A majestic review of a masterful video game. Indeed this art piece is revolutionary in the best of meaning, it also aged very well (like other main parts of this series). It is unique and is something that set a standard to follow for games of the same genre or at least similar enough nature. I presume it's also among the favorite video games of 2000s to many people. Batman: Arkham Asylum is a great example of how a video game can be not just in overall quality but having its special distinct identity, in a way becoming a vision of the future by its advancing and innovative nature and be a very faithful work of art based on comic books.

Just recently replayed and got the platinum trophy. 15 years later and it still holds up. Great video, enjoyed every second. Keep up the good work
Nice one man! Remember when I first 100 percented it, took years off my life finding the trophies… 😂 really glad you enjoyed it 💙🦇

You should make this video without the british accent
For fuck sake man , fair enough that made me laugh😭😭
Ark Man Ham Aslume is the best hammade man game the aslume could have hammed out
Agreed, the hand crafted Aslume that Man Hams in is easily the best of the Hams in the Aslume
@@CharlesCardy ah, i see, a fellow man of aslume of fartham shitty, glorious
im sure crouch walking to the plants doesnt aggro them
