Wow. How about this Kim….cars today have a small key fob you keep in your pocket or purse, walk up to the car and pull the handle and it unlocks, push a button and it starts. Get out, touch a button on the handle and it locks . No stupid cards or phase apps to worry about.

PRO TIP: You need to ensure that the TESLA mobile app is set to “Track My Location - Always Allow”, AND in order for the TESLA EV to unlock as you approach the vehicle, you need to ensure that the TESLA app is running (even if it is only running in the background). Your phone screen can be locked, or your phone screen can be unlocked with another app running in the foreground, but as long as you have the TESLA mobile app running in the background, then Bob’s your uncle! Just don’t swipe up (iOS) to close the TESLA app when you are done using it. Always leave it running in the background.
Great video. I locked my car with my iPhone and card key inside. (The card key slipped out of my pocket onto the drivers seat.) My other card key was in my desk at work. Ugh. I had downloaded an app "Watch for Tesla" for my apple watch. I went back inside my house to retrieve my apple watch and fortunately I was able to unlock my car with the Watch for Tesla app on my apple watch.
You forgot to mention that any WearOS based smartwatch with the DRIVE Electric for Tesla app can be used as both a NFC Key Card and/or Watch-As-Key over Bluetooth.

Yes, just open the passenger door before the driver door and all the doors should open. Opening the driver door first locks out all the passenger doors as a safety feature.

I hope Tesla would release an app for unsupported Andriod phone for basic functions. I have an iPhone 14 Pro. It works fine with the Tesla app. But, I would want to go back to one of my old phones, Galaxy Alpha.

Yeah... not much to be done in that case, unfortunately. There is a way to open the front truck without any battery. There's a small circle on the front near where the license plate would be... it pops out or something and you should be able to pull some cable or something that'll open the trunk, and from there it's possible to somehow access the battery for a jump.
If your 12 volt battery is drained out, none of the methods you mentioned will work Only way to do is to jump start ( yes old fashioned jump start Inside the lid of your toe area are wire connections Once connected will open your front bonnet Now you can access the 12 volt battery once it is charged You can lock/ unlock will be back in action

I decided to run through the unlocking methods on my 2021 Y. If my car is set with “Driver Unlock Mode” then I can only unlock my driver door via Bluetooth as I approach the car with my phone. The rear passenger did not unlock others. If I turn “Driver Unlock Mode” off then I can open any of the 4 doors and the trunk from the outside. Of course the latter that is not the safe mode when alone.
So, for us old school owners, how are we going to get in there if we don't have any of those options? Especially since there's no key or keyhole? Just got to wait for some random passerby and ask them to borrow their phone? Because that's very inconvenient
I don't know. NOTE: I was locked out of my Model Y a few weeks ago. I used a third party app on my apple watch "Watch for Tesla" to unlock my car. I saved me the extra time and embarrassment of going to work to retrieve my spare car key and come back to unlock the car.
Yes, you can unlock it with your phone or you can turn off “Driver Unlock Mode” so that any door can be opened when you approach the car, especially the all important companion's passenger door.
A phone charger is not a solution because, of course, you would have already used it to charge your phone so that is not another way to access your Tesla. And chances are that if your phone is dead that you are not going to have that little cell phone charger with you because if you did, then your phone would already be working. Having one of those little power banks doesn't get you into your Tesla. It only gets you into your phone.
Tap the little lock icon at the top of the display screen until it shows a locked locked. Then yours are locked. Or chose the lock control in your phones Tesla app.

Great question. Look for a very small "lock" icon on the top of the screen. Tap this to "unlock" or "lock" the car while inside.

Turn your phone off when the battery gets to 5%. Not having your phone for the short amount of time is much better than standing there like an idiot 😂

Just carry the Tesla card. Just like a normal key. No phone needed.
